Consulting firms look for very decent profile which is 9/9/9 (10th/12th/grad) and graduation from tier 1 institutes(like IITs and NITs). You should also have 18 months+ workexp as it is the minimum criteria for shortlisting on majority of firms.

Depends on the company you work for, I have had batchmates who had an IT background in terms of previous work experience or bachelor's in that field so easily getting into IT consulting projects. So if your company has any healthcare consulting projects, you might opt for it. But my advice is open to all the options you'll have on your plate, don't stick to one domain. All the best!

As you said when a consultant leaves his job ; he'll be hired by some firm of the same Industry at double the salary . Like if he is getting 30L in consulting ; he will get 60L in his next job & also he'll get a stable role too (I mean without any kind of travel & all) . Seriously which company gives 60L /annum with so much stability? & that to in such economic scenario ; no body can even hire him with that package ; forget about doubling it . So kindly don't fake any info you don't know about . If you don't know then at least say something in limit . You're just like faking it like anything .
