Hi Lisa, the colors the locomotive is wearing at 02:07 come from a merger that never happened! Back in the 80s, the Southern Pacific and the Santa Fe were going to merge together, and they decided on this color scheme for the new company. Several locomotives were painted up this way from both railroads while they waited for government approval, which would never come. The merger fell through and the four letters on the sides of the freshly painted locos became short for Shouldn't Paint So Fast!! :) Great work on this video.

Another of my "gone by it and never had the time to stop and see it"! Three of our members (dad and sons) of the Monterey & Salinas Valley Railroad Museum are live steamers. They get around a lot with their Rio Grande Southern No. 41. There's nothing like riding on these miniature lines! If I had money! Well, it appears I have another coal bucket list item for future trips. Thanks for the preview!

The great thing about being a member at these places is that you can ride the club owned trains without having to spend hardly any money at all. I was just visiting the live steamers in Costa Mesa yesterday, which she’ll be see before long. Their annual dues are $40 😊 no need to drop 30 grand on your own train👍👍
