You also have to raise the wheel up immediatly after cable release because is a lot of drag. I usually used to retrat it sooner because the tugplane of my club had it hard to climb with that wheel out. It make aerodynamics really improving.
When turning is better if you point your nose toward the extrerne wingtip of the towplane to avoid turning inside the tugplane. In MSFS Nothing happen but in real life it is veroy important. RL glider pilot here. I have flown a DG505 a lot.
