Awesome memories as I graduated high school in 1979. Lived in Staten Island NY...between driving with this on, running to clubs in Brooklyn, NYC and NJ this was one of the best! Still have it on my disco playlist!!
Gregory Caban I'm 58 and I've just got my freedom back and started clubbing again with a friend.... Dancing all night like the old days, but the music is nothing like this stuff. I've even got to learn new moves 😂😤😂 😂😂 but my old moves are still in me when I play all this stuff. Wouldn't it be great to have a 70s 80s night Club to go to ?? OMG it would be packed with us lot 👍😀
@@paulaslife3781 come to New Jersey!! Atlantic city there's an 80s themed casino and there's a club inside called boogie nights and they play 70s 80s dance music
i mean really who didnt love disco. it was a blast and those who say they hated it are liars. what a great song it was big in the clubs of chicago when i was in my early twenties. love it.....
this song sends me to a higher, better state of spirit and mind every time i listen to it. one of, if not THE greatest dance tunes in the past 35 years. ds
Lots of great memories, first job, first love, discovering these new tunes (at the time) and really appreciating the soulful vocals, thanks for posting. This still sounds just as good as it did as a new release! I must dig it out and add it to my stack of 45s to play...
Classic! Born in the 70's grew up in the 80s Chitown Househead forever, livin n lovin Miami, Dancin to the remix now! Love it, Hey DJ, spin this please!!!
This is one of the ALL TIME BEST dance tunes of that era. I have it on vinyl. I also remember when it came out, back in L.A., they had a huge party planned at Griffith Park Observatory called "The Mother Ship Arrives". It rained and rained and rained and we thought it would be cancelled, but no..... we rode up the hill from the parking lot in the busses, got our drinks, the clouds parted on a crystal clear evening.... and Jackie Moore came out and sang this song live.... what a memory.
Her strong voice was incomparable!!! Rest in Paradise Queen. Thank Ms. Moore for your fabulous talent. The music to this song is awesome too and background singers sound gorgeous. Magnificent tune.
im 41 and grew up listening to ths cuz of my mom an family so ill keep this music in my heart as my first love of music GREAT MUSIC NOT DIE when i hav kids ill play ths so theyll know it tooo keep good music alive
I was today years old when I learned this is the song Freemasons (feat Amanda Wilson) sampled for 'I've Got Love On My Mind'. I'm just glad I know now, because it's a great song. Both are, actually.
This was the SHIT back in the day....we used to dance to this until our clothes were soaking wet. I remember the dance floor being so crowded til you could hardly move. If you wanted to lose weight....the dicos were the place to be. Even the wall flowers had to move on this one.
Yesss!!!! That song is a House Music classic. There's a version that Ann Nesby sings. Infact most of all disco hits are House Music classics that STILL get played in the clubs of real House Heads!!! If you want to hear these classics as is or re-visioned to dance hard to then you'll need to check out what we call Deep House and Deep House parties. It Lives! It Lives! And it still moving people generations later = )
Jackie turns this song out !!!! Bravo-Encore,My sister and I would work it to filth on the dance floor at the Stonewall in AllenTown pa with this one...... I would Hustle her for days.......
Bay Ridge,,Brooklyn 3 Ave , cruising up and 86 street , and 18 Ave , then hitting the VEGAS DINNER , These were good times and this song was always playing on KTU 👍

This is still my jam from way back then, I remember buying it like it was yesterday. Sounds even better now, better than the repetitive Freemasons. Jackie has it all.
Yes indeed...keep it alive all you youngsters. Excellent music will never die. Check out the song called "Lovin Isreally My Thing" that is another one that will make you move.
Great tune. Timeless. Wish I was not a newt when this came out!! I'd love to mix this in and out of other tracks - so many possibilities on the deck with a track like this!!

The bass line and percussion in this song set it apart from most of the other disco songs of this era which had much simpler beats... Excellent mix and production. As a professional DJ, this song was and is easy to mix with other great tracks. The lyrics are so passionate.
Late on a cool night in East St.Louis in 1979 The #1 disco for St.Louis Metro's music. It was so cool. Now that club has been closed for 2 years. Thanks to our d.j. friends that keep this song and it's memories alive.
This was one of the greatest disco songs. It is locked into history forever. It should go into the time capsule.
Amen!
I agree! Heard it in a disco in Waikiki. When I returned to Seattle I purchased the LP and still have it. Nostalgic for that era!
That's for sure listen to the string instruments the horns sounds like an well tuned orchestra.
