The fact that they praised Lala for her final look which 100% was just a piece of fabric with no detailing at all was astonishing. Production really wanted that rudemption for Lala but she didn't really bring it to the ball but they still gave her that storyline regardless when Heidi should have at least been in the top placements.
I think for All Stars showing such a vast improve is important to production since All Stars is heavily based on redemption. As much as I LOVEEE Lala, I was miserable when I saw her final runway. It's not even a bad look, it's just extremely simple (though well executed for what she had to work with imo).
It's literally a burlap sack with holes in it. I genuinely through she was trolling the competition and trying to top how bad her last look was by doing an even worse look.

I wasn't as confused about Jessica winning as I was about Lala or Kandy being put in the top over Heidi. It's WILD to me that Lala was high and Heidi was safe.
@Pea people keep thinking Kandy was in the top?? They hated 2 of her looks, critiqued her silhouette, and her homemade look was a degree away from jiggly's apocalypse couture. She was low, as all stars always have low placements.

I agree with all of this. Also... I don't feel like Lala redeemed anything, that look was one of the ugliest things to ever walk down that runway. It seemed somehow even lower effort than the bag look. It's weird that Jessica did the same thing (in my opinion in a way less inventive and attractive way) as Jimbo with gluing stuff to a corset, and won while Jimbo got read for it. I absolutely am shocked that she won. But I am happy she snatched that 30k tip because I absolutely love Jessica. But yeah, Heidi was the clear winner.
Not just that, her last look was terrible! TERRIBLE!! Not as visually bad as Kasha’s or Darriene’s, but bad & lacking any imagination, which Kasha had (just didn’t pull it off). RuPaul loves Kandy fir every meal. Remember her double save late in her season? It was not deserved.

Starting an unsubstantiated rumor -- They wanted Jessica and Jimbo in the top because they both had breast-related gimmicks for the Coconuts song. Heidi's strawberry look blew me away - to get the pants to be in that shape and stay that way, is a feat! She literally WAS a strawberry and her face and hair was so beautiful and giving strawberry short-cake.
Her strawberry look made me smile from ear to ear, it was *that* adorable, I'm very bewildered as to why she didn't win the ball, she gave us 3 different looks that didn't involve literal milk, dressing up as a cow, or being a banana or having bananas incorporated into a look. Although two of the banana looks I thought were stunning, I was really hoping for different variety of fruits or a juxtaposition of the fruity category much like Jimbo did.
I know there's zero proof, but I fully believe your rumor. That lipsync would have BOMBED without any titty shenanigans. They had to guarantee that a big boobied queen would be performing it.
Interesting take but I don't think it has a lot of substance. The songs order are not set in stone, a few queens have said before they've change the lypsinc song last minute. Also they could've put heidi in the top 3 but not give her the win.
Heidi was ROBBED! Her looks were so so so good. She has original concepts and I loved the look she created. For her to not even be in the top is insane. 🍓🍓🍓

The clever colors and accessories were perfection and outshined every other designed look, which tends to be the part judged most heavily. Idk I just feel like it was so out of place.

Usually during a ball I can't pick a clear winner on first watch. This time I thought Heidi was the OBVIOUS top! The strawberry was SUBLIME! Absolute robbery. I will not die mad about it, but I did go to bed incensed.
ok but the strawberry wasnt the one that was made in the werk room. The napkin dress she made in the workroom, was very obviously made out of napkins, like, it was not good. Yet people are on here pretending that it was? She deserved top placement, sure, but not the win.

Before seeing Monica's cheese look in the Fame Game runway, I was convinced the category was "milk" and not "dairy". How did only ONE queen do cheese? And not the queen from Wisconsin?
It reminds me of the tie dye runway on S15 and like two queens total did any sort of interesting colour play or contrast in the tie dye. Also my first thought when I heard Legen-Dairy was cheese. Then 3s later I settled on an ornate cheese fondue fountain.
I was shocked not to see any kind of cheese, there are so many good options and more colorful and interesting textures than the repetitive white milk or cow print. Plus, uh... ice cream? Definitely lots of aesthetically pleasing ways to go.
I have a feeling the theme they were given pre-filming had milk in the title, its the only thing that makes sense to me. Which is also why I think Jimbo gets a pass for being super out of the box on the Fruity runway because prior to filming they wouldn't know it was part of the ball

Kandy's third look was horrible. Same as the one in the original season. She looked like a Ball of aluminol foil you ve used and are ready to throw out! And once again she tried to save it with a good wig ( at least this time her own wig!) but she failed. I dont understand how she got TOP with that and Heidi got SAFE.
While I agree that Heidi was mistreated this episode, I think because of being able to see the white of the napkins and her gown not hitting the right length have the judges enough excuse to deem her as safe. HOWEVER, then when you look at Lala and Kandy getting critiques it loses all sense in the world! Lala could have been just safe easily, and Kandy while yeah the looks were gorgeous the first two were too simple and the third one was a mess!
I agree, it should have been Jessica/Heidi/Kahanna in the top for me. With Kandy and Lala being safe. I don’t agree with everyone saying Jimbos was good, to me it was reminiscent of Nina Wests farm runway look (not great)

The one thing Jessica did over all the other queens was incorporate her brand into the second look. I am happy with her win. I also thought Heidi was going to win and so deserving. The other top placements are WTF for me.

Giving Heidi the win here would have been perfect Reality TV storytelling: Heidi, the queen who got roasted for her fashion on season 12, to the point Kandy joked about it during the season 13 roast, coming back with a vengeance, dominating the ball and earning her first win in a challenge that the audience would have previously thought she would be subpar in, gives us the Lala Ri redemption moment, but feels earned because she went from ugly cape and basic catsuit to stunning strawberry pants, not bags on a corset to an unflattering minidress. They threw a perfect Reality tv moment away for what? Jessica is sickening and talented and hopefully wins another challenge in the future. (Please no hate to Lala, she didn’t put herself in the top, and I hope she does really well this season, with future top placements and wins being completely earned. I want people to love Lala, not resent her for being the beneficiary of other people’s questionable decisions)

They get paid a performance fee. Theyre not competitors, they shouldn't have a 'chance' at the money. The should be paid fairly for the work they got hired to do.
I think it has to do with contracts and competition rules. The assassins are just like being paid for guest appearances / are basically freelancers… but they aren’t competitors and thus can’t win prizes from the show.
I don't think Ra'jah threw it intentionally, she just wasn't dressed for the song. I think the assassins only find out what song they're doing the day or so before they perform, so unless Ra'jah had a tittyfied outfit ready to go, I don't think the result would have been different.

I can relate, Durant. I have had many changes in my body from more than an autoimmune issue and not having as elastic of skin as I thought I would when I lost quite of bit of weight since the first time I went over 200 lbs. Some of what I'd have to get fixed for this skin would sadly need what must be considered cosmetic surgery to correct, so I'm unsure still what I want to do for those few problem areas of mine 🙃🫠 so stuff that is slightly baggy or long has to hide them

I feel like she kinda addressed the discrepancy you see by openly saying that it's not her taste which is totally fair. Fashion isn't objective, so what you see as impressive or beautiful isn't going to be the exact same for everyone. For some, creativity or creative ideas are valued higher than construction or more generic but pretty looks that don't have anything particularly special. Everyone has biases and no judging except your own will ever perfectly satisfy you - that's just the nature of judging stuff like this 🤷♀️ It seems a bit pointless to feel some kinda way or start pointing fingers at biases as if we're not all heavily influenced by them... 'cause we are... 😅 If everyone who disagreed with one of the opinions in this video commented about the thing they disagreed with, the comments would be insufferable. Idk, it just gives main character vibes like when Twitch viewers say they're bored and to move on as if their desires and opinions are inherently better than the creator they're watching. It's okay and normal to see things differently, but people have to come to terms with the fact that their opinions and views don't necessarily represent any kind of objective, shared reality. Also, every disagreement doesn't have to be expressed... It's okay, in fact, probably ideal that most disagreements aren't shared because they're typically unproductive and don't make anyone feel good haha.

Execution imo. It's easy to see between the too. Jumbo is usually so pit together so to see her in a look that imo looked like it was made in Season 11. I expected more from her for this design yourself look tbh

The fans, the queens, the judges, and production all know Heidi actually won the ball. I would consider leaving in protest too, not selfishly but to make a point to the producers that this level of riggery won't be tolerated. Like imagine half the cast resigning in protest... With my distrust in production, I feel like they'd pull all the stops to make the queens stay, then update their contract to somehow prevent or punish any future queens that decide to take a stand. And I wouldn't be surprised if they aired the protesting but tried to invent a different cause for it

I'll say it- Jimbo's dairy look was more of a soap look and if someone else wore it, it wouldn't have gotten the love that it did. I'm not seeing milk just because its white especially since its so structured. plus the bubbles are clear and not a translucent white like milk bubbles are. I feel the same way about her Net Gala look.
I mean this season the bias is REAL. I love Jimbo, Kandy and LaLa but it really seem like they could they fart on stage and their fans would claim it as the best thing ever happened
In all positivity as I can, Kandi is obviously a RuGirl for her personality. The drag is sub-par at its very best, but its her personality that really draws the viewership in. In other news, filling both categories of personality and talent - Heidi was ROBBED BLIND, caught, captured and returned, then ROBBED RIGHT BACK AGAIN this entire episode. Heidi absolutely slaughtered each look. It is SO sad and I get why on top of all her emotions, she was pissed enough to have that emotional moment where she wanted to leave. This episode really played to story puppeteering via production.
Honestly, I was so happy with what James showed us. ESPECIALLY the constructed 3rd look. She puts the full James in every look. Always her true interpretation to such perfection. I really though he was gonna win. But Jessica is my season favorite, so I'm not mad at her win
I was surprised none of the queens thought to do Butter, Ice cream, Whipped Cream, or Fro-Yo for Dairy. You could also do goat's milk, sheep's milk, strawberry milk, chocolate milk, even breast milk!

in regards to Jimbos not being fruity in the literal sense i think an undervalued part of the design is using pop art not only as a reference to the genre but also to use the colours to also represent fruit, the red blues and greens all together look like a beautiful abstract fruit basket.. that's my perspective at least. thanks as always for the video
Never thought i'd be saying it but this was Jimbo's weakest episode so far. Milk was meh, her fruit wasn't fruiting and the lettuce was shapeless (though the latter was also the hardest to pull off so many props to all the queens). Heidi's strawberry was the best look for me all day and i know nobody's going to agree with me but honorable mention goes to Chloris Bleachman because i literally laughed out loud.

There is NO WAY that production was gonna let the lipsync assassin win yet again and bring the prize money up to $40k. That's WAY too close to the $50k prize money for the fame games winner, and them being that close would diminish the wow factor of the twist. And this is coming from someone who thinks that drag race could have easily put a lot more money into both the main prize of $200,000 and the fame games prize. We're making millions here, honey.
2:29 To note about Jimbo’s look being so different, they may have simply given a brief and later on told that it’s part of the “ball” challenge. I do think that is where the brief might need to steer better if they wanted it to look similar. After all, we do know there have been briefs about specific things, and it ended up being for a mini challenge or a “throwaway” bit. Ask Willam since they had the Lingerie they thought was for a specific challenge and it ended up getting used as “B Roll” for the skit. I would agree that if they planned on having them together, they should say that since there are other queens that think like Jimbo and don’t want to go for the same thing, but if told it was part of a Ball, they could have worked with that.
Lala’s look she made just fits her so well and the cut is so androgynous and very Grace Jones. While it might not match up to the theme it was still striking !!!!
For me the clear top three of the week, strides above the competition, were Heidi, Jaymes and Kahanna. The fact that not one of the best three queens was in the top is wild.
Granted, I coulda done without the middle peplum in Heidi's last look, but reviewing all the looks, the robbery this episode was grand larceny, federal level, white collar prison on Heidi. I may love and stan Jessica Wild, but I was shooketh she won this week. Heidi gave 3 distinct, beautiful, and memorable looks. Seeing Jessica's fruity and supermarket model look, they read as entirely safe to me. Do not blame Heidi for her feelings. And bless Lala, her bar was set so low for this challenge that what she gave us was applauded.
Ok however, heidis final look really wasnt that good. None of Jessicas were bad. She gave three solid looks. Only queen to do so with all the judges liking each one. Jessica deserved her win.

Ive seen local queens use James’ hand scarf a lot before, but never with the hands holding something or making them clap. I see at a lot in burlesque numbers with the hands covering up parts. Still feels so cool to see something on the show I saw in a local drag show first

Candy should have been safe and Heidi should have won! The Candy favoritism from the judges can make it hard not to feel frustrated when watching Candy on Drag race. It is not fair to Candy nor the other girls. Candy came across as arrogant in her first season, so far they have not improved that image of drag race for her and I hope they do bring out her lovable vulnerability this time instead of keeping her safe when she deserves the bottom (not saying she deserved the bottom this week, I’m remembering her Alien costume in her season that should’ve sent her home).

I agree with all of this. Also... I don't feel like Lala redeemed anything, that look was one of the ugliest things to ever walk down that runway. It seemed somehow even lower effort than the bag look. It's weird that Jessica did the same thing (in my opinion in a way less inventive and attractive way) as Jimbo with gluing stuff to a corset, and won while Jimbo got read for it. I absolutely am shocked that she won. But I am happy she snatched that 30k tip because I absolutely love Jessica. But yeah, Heidi was the clear winner.

Starting an unsubstantiated rumor -- They wanted Jessica and Jimbo in the top because they both had breast-related gimmicks for the Coconuts song. Heidi's strawberry look blew me away - to get the pants to be in that shape and stay that way, is a feat! She literally WAS a strawberry and her face and hair was so beautiful and giving strawberry short-cake.

Her strawberry look made me smile from ear to ear, it was *that* adorable, I'm very bewildered as to why she didn't win the ball, she gave us 3 different looks that didn't involve literal milk, dressing up as a cow, or being a banana or having bananas incorporated into a look. Although two of the banana looks I thought were stunning, I was really hoping for different variety of fruits or a juxtaposition of the fruity category much like Jimbo did.

Also my first thought when I heard Legen-Dairy was cheese. Then 3s later I settled on an ornate cheese fondue fountain.
I was shocked not to see any kind of cheese, there are so many good options and more colorful and interesting textures than the repetitive white milk or cow print. Plus, uh... ice cream? Definitely lots of aesthetically pleasing ways to go.
I have a feeling the theme they were given pre-filming had milk in the title, its the only thing that makes sense to me.
Which is also why I think Jimbo gets a pass for being super out of the box on the Fruity runway because prior to filming they wouldn't know it was part of the ball

While I agree that Heidi was mistreated this episode, I think because of being able to see the white of the napkins and her gown not hitting the right length have the judges enough excuse to deem her as safe. HOWEVER, then when you look at Lala and Kandy getting critiques it loses all sense in the world! Lala could have been just safe easily, and Kandy while yeah the looks were gorgeous the first two were too simple and the third one was a mess!

Giving Heidi the win here would have been perfect Reality TV storytelling: Heidi, the queen who got roasted for her fashion on season 12, to the point Kandy joked about it during the season 13 roast, coming back with a vengeance, dominating the ball and earning her first win in a challenge that the audience would have previously thought she would be subpar in, gives us the Lala Ri redemption moment, but feels earned because she went from ugly cape and basic catsuit to stunning strawberry pants, not bags on a corset to an unflattering minidress. They threw a perfect Reality tv moment away for what? Jessica is sickening and talented and hopefully wins another challenge in the future.
(Please no hate to Lala, she didn’t put herself in the top, and I hope she does really well this season, with future top placements and wins being completely earned. I want people to love Lala, not resent her for being the beneficiary of other people’s questionable decisions)

They get paid a performance fee. Theyre not competitors, they shouldn't have a 'chance' at the money. The should be paid fairly for the work they got hired to do.
I think it has to do with contracts and competition rules. The assassins are just like being paid for guest appearances / are basically freelancers… but they aren’t competitors and thus can’t win prizes from the show.
I don't think Ra'jah threw it intentionally, she just wasn't dressed for the song. I think the assassins only find out what song they're doing the day or so before they perform, so unless Ra'jah had a tittyfied outfit ready to go, I don't think the result would have been different.

I can relate, Durant. I have had many changes in my body from more than an autoimmune issue and not having as elastic of skin as I thought I would when I lost quite of bit of weight since the first time I went over 200 lbs. Some of what I'd have to get fixed for this skin would sadly need what must be considered cosmetic surgery to correct, so I'm unsure still what I want to do for those few problem areas of mine 🙃🫠 so stuff that is slightly baggy or long has to hide them

I feel like she kinda addressed the discrepancy you see by openly saying that it's not her taste which is totally fair. Fashion isn't objective, so what you see as impressive or beautiful isn't going to be the exact same for everyone. For some, creativity or creative ideas are valued higher than construction or more generic but pretty looks that don't have anything particularly special. Everyone has biases and no judging except your own will ever perfectly satisfy you - that's just the nature of judging stuff like this 🤷♀️ It seems a bit pointless to feel some kinda way or start pointing fingers at biases as if we're not all heavily influenced by them... 'cause we are... 😅 If everyone who disagreed with one of the opinions in this video commented about the thing they disagreed with, the comments would be insufferable. Idk, it just gives main character vibes like when Twitch viewers say they're bored and to move on as if their desires and opinions are inherently better than the creator they're watching. It's okay and normal to see things differently, but people have to come to terms with the fact that their opinions and views don't necessarily represent any kind of objective, shared reality. I'll say it- Jimbo's dairy look was more of a soap look and if someone else wore it, it wouldn't have gotten the love that it did. I'm not seeing milk just because its white especially since its so structured. plus the bubbles are clear and not a translucent white like milk bubbles are. I feel the same way about her Net Gala look.

In all positivity as I can, Kandi is obviously a RuGirl for her personality. The drag is sub-par at its very best, but its her personality that really draws the viewership in. In other news, filling both categories of personality and talent - Heidi was ROBBED BLIND, caught, captured and returned, then ROBBED RIGHT BACK AGAIN this entire episode. Heidi absolutely slaughtered each look. It is SO sad and I get why on top of all her emotions, she was pissed enough to have that emotional moment where she wanted to leave. This episode really played to story puppeteering via production.
Honestly, I was so happy with what James showed us. ESPECIALLY the constructed 3rd look. She puts the full James in every look. Always her true interpretation to such perfection.
I really though he was gonna win. But Jessica is my season favorite, so I'm not mad at her win
I was surprised none of the queens thought to do Butter, Ice cream, Whipped Cream, or Fro-Yo for Dairy. You could also do goat's milk, sheep's milk, strawberry milk, chocolate milk, even breast milk!
As much as I understand it’s a heavily produced show, if they are going to pull this kinda rigga morris, they need to sell it to me a whole lot better than this… Heidi at least deserved a top placement
in regards to Jimbos not being fruity in the literal sense i think an undervalued part of the design is using pop art not only as a reference to the genre but also to use the colours to also represent fruit, the red blues and greens all together look like a beautiful abstract fruit basket.. that's my perspective at least. thanks as always for the video
Never thought i'd be saying it but this was Jimbo's weakest episode so far. Milk was meh, her fruit wasn't fruiting and the lettuce was shapeless (though the latter was also the hardest to pull off so many props to all the queens). Heidi's strawberry was the best look for me all day and i know nobody's going to agree with me but honorable mention goes to Chloris Bleachman because i literally laughed out loud.
Agreed, jimbo disappointing considering she made amazinglooks out of unconventional materials.....and she made that? I've said it before but it looks like something made buy someone on Season 11 who can't sew well)
I can't believe the judges aren't commenting on Kandy's bizarre makeup. In her fruit look, she has an unblended smear of clown white from her hairline to her chin. What gives?

There is NO WAY that production was gonna let the lipsync assassin win yet again and bring the prize money up to $40k. That's WAY too close to the $50k prize money for the fame games winner, and them being that close would diminish the wow factor of the twist.
And this is coming from someone who thinks that drag race could have easily put a lot more money into both the main prize of $200,000 and the fame games prize. We're making millions here, honey.

2:29 To note about Jimbo’s look being so different, they may have simply given a brief and later on told that it’s part of the “ball” challenge. I do think that is where the brief might need to steer better if they wanted it to look similar. After all, we do know there have been briefs about specific things, and it ended up being for a mini challenge or a “throwaway” bit. Ask Willam since they had the Lingerie they thought was for a specific challenge and it ended up getting used as “B Roll” for the skit.
I would agree that if they planned on having them together, they should say that since there are other queens that think like Jimbo and don’t want to go for the same thing, but if told it was part of a Ball, they could have worked with that.
Lala’s look she made just fits her so well and the cut is so androgynous and very Grace Jones. While it might not match up to the theme it was still striking !!!!

For me the clear top three of the week, strides above the competition, were Heidi, Jaymes and Kahanna. The fact that not one of the best three queens was in the top is wild.
Granted, I coulda done without the middle peplum in Heidi's last look, but reviewing all the looks, the robbery this episode was grand larceny, federal level, white collar prison on Heidi. I may love and stan Jessica Wild, but I was shooketh she won this week. Heidi gave 3 distinct, beautiful, and memorable looks. Seeing Jessica's fruity and supermarket model look, they read as entirely safe to me. Do not blame Heidi for her feelings.
And bless Lala, her bar was set so low for this challenge that what she gave us was applauded.
Ok however, heidis final look really wasnt that good. None of Jessicas were bad. She gave three solid looks. Only queen to do so with all the judges liking each one. Jessica deserved her win.

Ive seen local queens use James’ hand scarf a lot before, but never with the hands holding something or making them clap. I see at a lot in burlesque numbers with the hands covering up parts. Still feels so cool to see something on the show I saw in a local drag show first

Candy should have been safe and Heidi should have won! The Candy favoritism from the judges can make it hard not to feel frustrated when watching Candy on Drag race. It is not fair to Candy nor the other girls. Candy came across as arrogant in her first season, so far they have not improved that image of drag race for her and I hope they do bring out her lovable vulnerability this time instead of keeping her safe when she deserves the bottom (not saying she deserved the bottom this week, I’m remembering her Alien costume in her season that should’ve sent her home).
