I kinda agree the set is overpriced and they should have used the older helmet style for the mark 3 and war machine, but the new helmet is perfect for the new nano tech armor.
No it wasn't perfect. I still needed lots of improvements. Thy should have made one similar to Phoenix Customs' version which I would argue is the best version of an iron man figure.
Although the new helmet looks too big brain for the minifigures, I can get why they might have to update the helmet. Having all the original iron man, i can say that the visor connection is sometimes weak (especially overtime). So I would assume that the designers updated the visor mainly for the structure integrity, or at least I hope that was the reason.
The cool thing about the blueprint of the new element that Tony discovered or (rediscovered). Is that the area around it resembles a birds eye view diagram of Tony’s garage/ workshop. The left side is the armoury, the landing pad thing and some tables (presumably). The top left is the stairs behind the glass windows & fingerprint access door and right side is the garage & driveway. The bottom right part of the garage is where Tony’s car collection would be located. Near the bunch of windows that would look out towards the sea.
I think the reason for the new helmet is not for MCU Tony's Iron Man but for the different Iron Men and Women like Iron Heart, Titanium Man, Crimson Dynamo, etc. Printing the design on to the helmet makes it more versatile as well as having them flip up.
@@Eli-as12 Yeah. It doesn’t look very good on the traditional Ironman figures imo, but it does look really good on the Striker. I hope they use them where they work, and not try and cram them into every set even though it looks wrong
I might be the minority here but I do think that the new helmet mold is actually near perfection, it doesn't scale well with minifigure's head but it looks proportional to the source material. I personally always thought that the original mold feels squished down, and faceplate feels a bit oversized
Yeah the new helmet seems proportional but the original had a more detailed faceplate that had molded eyes, a flip up that didn't make Tony's head look bulbous and to me was overall good for the MCU iron man suits, wished LEGO could've switched it up the helmets here between the three designs
The trick is to buy the sticker set for a dollar and slap it on a window. He has 51 suits onscreen in the films. 48 are his own, Two busters (44 and 48) and rescue (mk 49) seeing as his newest is mk 85 theres still mk 51-84 that havnt been seen!
Plus the Iron Spider, Iron Legion, (apparently) 7 War Machine suits and 2 Iron Patriot suits. I think the Rescue armor is also not an Iron man suit and under its own designation. If you want you can count the Spider-Man homecoming suit but that is not really an Iron Man like suit.
This hasnt been canonized anywhere and its just a assumption. You could say that about most suits. Mk 2 and 3 the upgrade of the Mk1 that eventually became the mk4 and so on
I have a solution for the main build. Just move the rest of the build to the other Hall of Armor and use this main build as someone else’s suit display like Batman
The new helmet takes me back to that horrible X-Wing pilot-helmet-mold they introduced back in 2018. I hope this new mold here gets the same treatment.
I feel like the Buildable Iron man may have been based off an Iron man with the new helmet. I just feel like the wierd Chunkiness makes more sense that way.
Id prefer this if they made cheaper sets including one suit and one display capsule, so it'd be easier to tile the modules without buying several of the expensive sets
Ash, you forgot to mention that this is the first time we have gotten a War Machine minifigure in Gunmetal grey - the most accurate colour Lego has for him. Also, I think the helmet is a good attempt - I understand why they made a new mould, but it would have been nice to use the same base helmet mould that has been used for the last 10 years but just make a new face plate mould without the eye indents so that it is more versatile for different suits.
If this was $50-60 I'd get it, there's alot of cool little things (new helmet, stark expo, whiplash, war machine) but I'll probably just get that stuff on bricklick if it's not crazy expensive like the set. Shame, I don't have an armory yet and I liked the look of this oni
I really wish they had continued with hall of armor/armory sets that matched the last two. I like some of the side builds, but I'll likely just get some of the figures and build some more pods to expand my existing one. Especially at 90 bucks
get the car license, make the car 2 seats and correct size, to hold the map like in the movie instead of leaving it behind, it looks weird, return the old helmet to the previous armors, maybe not nano armor but still looks weird, go back to the old armor display, fix the face, the character skin, then 90 bucks, 100 bucks if lego wants to go wild on the price and it would make a lot more sense
Could you please do a video comparing the original hall of armor pods, the spider lair pods, and the new hall of armor pods? I'd be curious how compatible they are with each other. I found the Ironman and Spider-Man pods didn't fit that well together, especially when it came to putting the display on a curve.
9:00 who else thought that black minifig head was a coffee pot? I thought it was one of his mechanical arms going to pour coffee in the cup that's on the table.
My biggest gripe is that they used the Mark 3 instead of the Mark 4 here. Huge miss on Legos part to please us completionists wanting to make a full hall of armor display.
I feel like they can still use the old mold for his old armours like 3 and maybe up to like avengers or age of ultron but using the new one makes sense for the ones after it as they have quite a different shape, and the printing for the new one allows you to really see the difference in design
The hairpiece for whiplash is technically accurate to the scene the armor appears in, the helmets if you notice in the film, don’t go clear up, you could probably live with the new helmet design if you don’t put em up all the way. Stark 11 was the license plate on the car actually used, but could be a reference to how many movies he was in for marvel. Overall if you watch the film, this set may actually be more accurate than y’all realize!
I will be likely picking up multyiples of this set in order to essentially bild my own idea of how the armory should be built. I plan on having an armory case for each set of Armor, as mentioned in this video
You really should have shown a comparison of the original flip up helmet vs this new one, because as I am holding the original one in hand, comparing it to your video (as I do not own this new one yet), they seem to appear the same size??? Although I can definitely see the cut line difference, and prefer the original were ONLY the gold face plate moves up, whereas in these new one the gold face plate is outlined by a border of red metal that also flips up, and it feels weird, or not as cool looking as the original. Just my 2 cents bub.
i think whats best about the original iron man helmet, was that the face mask had molded etails on it. not an almost entirely flat piece with a printed face. the new one just looks less like iron man because there is no depth, you know?
The tony stark shirt is a black Sabbath shirt which is a refrence to the end credits song of iron man 1 and was also in the original avengers as he says
I got the set today and it’s honest not that bad, I do wish that it would’ve been $75 instead of $90. Although the minifigures are great but I do wish they wouldn’t have changed the Ironman helmet.
I understand you don't like the new hall of armor display with the holograms. You could just apply the stickers on the door/window panels pieces right? Then just use them on the previous design, you probably have some left without stickers from previous sets
I was able to buy this set on a Black Friday for half the price. Got super lucky! No complaints except for the fact that some of the minifigs came with damaged (chipped) torso sides and I don't how to feel about that....I think the details in the set are premium, it would be nice if Lego plastic and molding was also at that standard.
Now I agree with some of the points you made about the new helmet mold now I think they went with the long helmet design so they have room for the lift
Hold on, are those 1/4 round tiles in trans-yellow on the car!? Oh yes! Also, it’s called a drill press. It’s not too bad of a set but I’ll just be getting it mostly for the suits like most people.
Ok. I think that, First helmet (the one everybody loves): is to realistic for lego minifigures. Second helmet(better for comics though could work for much kind of) This helmet(perfection) There. Boom. Done.
I think the new helmet works for the nanotech suits since it’s supposed to be slimmer, but not for the earlier bulkier ones

I think it works for the mark 25

The set is good but it should be 70 dollars. The avengers tower was also 90 with a similar piece count to this but just felt so much more substancial.
Yeah it’s just the hall of armour with loads of little throwaway side-builds to stuff up the price
$50 at most
