Hi! All of your videos have been very helpful! Thank you! I would like for you to dive a little deeper into the legal and financial aspects of a cleaning business. What are cleaning companies sued for the most? What payroll system can I use? What financial models can I use to maximize profits? Is it legal to do residential and commercial cleaning under the same company? How do you record your Supplies/Inventory and Machinery on your books? Do you record them as a Capital Asset or as an Expense? What is ISSA? Is it worth becoming a member? What are other useful resources out there like ISSA?
Hi Wesley! Those are all great topics! Have you had a chance to listen to our podcast? We cover quite a few of those in great detail. You can listen to them on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and more. They are also available here on RUclips. Give them a listen and let us know what you think!
For me I use Green for General Use (counters, kitchens, lobbies, etc.), Red for High Traffic Areas (restrooms, excessively dirty areas, bloodborne pathogens), Yellow for Dusting, Blue for Glass, Gray for Stainless Steel, & White for Deep Cleaning (Large Tables, Carpet, Disinfecting)
Here in, Australia, with my School Cleaning job... We have RED for the toilets, GREEN for the kitchen area, BLUE for desks, chairs, and window sills, YELLOW for medical, light PINK for other things like bubblers...
Do you use paper towels if the toilet is especially dirty? And what’s your process for cleaning the microfiber cloths? Are the employees in charge of taking them home and cleaning them?
One time use towels are sometimes a necessary option for extremely messy bathroom cleaning. Some of our customers have their own vendors who supply and maintain linens, but for those that we do supply towels for, a member of our team picks up the towels on location, launders them, and returns them for the employees on site. If you don't have the payroll to hire someone to do that, you can make your employees responsible for delivering the towels to the office/home base for cleaning. Stay tuned for a video explaining how to clean microfiber towels and mops.
@@OctoCleanMedia Has this video came out yet? I have always wondered what is the best way to clean and properly disinfect them and whether they should be washed together or separately.
ISSA tends to teach a different version. Red is for Toilets, urinals and floors. That way it's a universal color spectrum for all janitorial companies to follow.
We use yellow for toilets and urinals. It's easy to remember because you know yellow 😂 and then green is for surfaces. So we'd use a green microfiber for the counters of the restroom. Blue for glass and mirrors. We reserve red mainly for medical cleaning/terminal cleaning of ORs, but will sometimes use red or purple for stainless steel polish in the restroom. Your color code system is up to you!
How do you get your rags laundered? Are the employees in charge of laundering their own rags? If a separate person does it, do they launder them at a laundromat?
Our franchisees have their own processes for laundering towels. For the customers that we do supply towels for, a member of our team picks up the towels on location, launders them at our office, and returns them for the employees on site. That works for us, but you can make your employees responsible for delivering the towels to the office/home base for cleaning. We're working on a video explaining how to clean microfiber towels and mops. Stay tuned!

Are all your towels microfiber SUEDE type, or only the glass towels suede only?
Just the glass towel

Very nice! Having a color coding system is a great way to avoid cross contamination and keep everything clean. Well done!
Exactly
