Very nice! I flew to Ursel for the first time last weekend. They kept responding on the radio: report (downwind/base/final) next. It seems you are prepared for that by already stating your next call (will report ... next) which makes it much less heavy on the RT. I also experienced it is a challenging crosswind situation with the trees along the runway. In the Aquila A211 I fly, it is better to use the rudder than the ailerons to correct on final. It is much more effective at low airspeeds. But that might be different in the DA40, I don't know.
Hi Hugo, first of all, thanks for watching! Before my flight to Ursel I saw a few other videos, and I noticed that the AFIS person consistently did this "report... next" thing, so I thought I can try avoiding that by stating that I would report the next pattern leg, and it indeed worked :) It must be a local habit, as I have not encountered another AFIS like that so far. But at least you know that they care about where you are, which is always good for situational awareness - as long as the frequency is not overloaded with this extra talk.
As always, your videos are a delight.
Thanks!
Nice , Peter !
Glad you liked it 👌

Well well well, this looks very familiar to me those routings and altitudes 😂😂😂
They say imitation is a form of flattery 😅👌 Thanks for the idea for the flight! 🙏 (Since then I did it once more at 4000 feet towards Seppe too.)
I'm glad I inspired you 😛
Hello: no ipad overheating with that suction system?
Hi, no, never had any issues, even when the GoPros were overheating in the heatwave, the iPad had no problems at all.
You need to avoid to fly over the center of Ursel when you fly in downwind!
Exactly, and that’s what I did! I flew the downwind precisely as it is given on the charts 👌
