What a totally superb video ! took me back to the days of the Skeggies , Not-Beeston ,bowl there for a couple of quick beers then Beeston -Leicester ,those drivers used to whip those choppers hard ,happy days .
Great video. Used to watch 20s trundling out to Comrie colliery exchange sidings from our school. Even into the 80s you’d see the odd pug being used to bring the coal down from the pit. Meant little to us, daily stuff, if only I’d known!! 📷
It was on DVD called Pulling Power, featuring a raft of diesel hauled side views including this one Oban, Lickey, Buxton, Netherfield Jn and Exeter St Thomas all from the mid 80s.
Superb video. Nice to compare the line from Leven to how it is now having reopened a few weeks ago. 09.00 is roughly where the new Cameron Bridge station is, the old one seen here having closed in 1969, but remarkably still with the footbridge in place.

Glad you enjoyed it
That takes me back. I’ve always liked 20s,always a pleasure to get that handle back 😁
Never thought that when I filmed it at the time it would bring back so many good memories - glad I did it!
Great work 👍 Couldn’t beat a 20 Thrash to Skeggy
Thank you - much appreciated!

Yes, but not all of it - hence the uncut release. There was lots not included on the DVD - more is good. :-)
Excellent video
The funny thing is no heads or limbs where lost during the making of the video
Unlike today’s H+S freaks
Great point! Things were a lot different in those days! Thanks for the nice comment.

A few bygones there (except for the Leven branch, recently resurrected) but oh for 2024 video quality!
I agree with the quality side of things - but who would have known at the time. Where's my time machine!
Dreadful!
