We know the Changi Branch Line that is operation from the East West Line. However, that name will no longer to be named as that as in 2040, the line will be converted into a Thomson East Coast Line. So why they did this? How will it construct? Watch the video to find out more.

As planned as it can be, hopefully they close only one platform at the time to do the conversion.
In a way;
Currently = Both platforms are still being used by CGL.
Soon = One platform or track is closed for conversion into TEL while the other track is used for CGL with only one train running.
Then = Testing of the TEL train on the newly converted track.
After that = Single TEL train runs on single track from Sungei Bedok, passing by Terminal 5 non-stop, stops at Changi Airport Station, Expo and Tanah Merah and back to Sungei Bedok. Meaning to say that passengers would need to change train at Sungei Bedok.
Shortly after = farewell to CGL and shut down to convert the other second track to TEL.
Last = Both CT251 trains run on normal passenger service. Woodlands North all the way to Tanah Merah and then Tanah Merah all the way back to Woodlands North.
I really hope they would use the tracks above ground. Would be nice to ride the train like that 😊.

personally I don't think they will put the tel extension undergroud as that would mean a waste of money and infrastrucutre that is already used and built
I think the Thomson-east coast line extention will be using the existing Changi Airport branch line track. The reason why Tel extention is cooler is because the TEL trains are newer but the DTL and EWL and TEL will share a depot with buses which is when Changi depot renamed to East coast depot.
And there will finally be a one seat ride to the City itself
Previously the east west line end at changi airport not pasir ris. Later it was changed to pasir ris. Please inform if this info is correct.

i wish the thomson east coast line can be together with changi bridge line I don't want them to remove it :(
they will just change the labels and platform screen doors at Tanah Merah, expo and Changi airport

the problem is the structure of MRT for East West Line and Thomson East Coast Line are not the same. how to convert like that? East West Line has cars 6 x 4 whereas Thomson East Coast Line has cars 4 x 5.
Looking forward for Tel extension
After 11 months of thinking,I had an idea!Use the cross island line from Changi T5 to Sungei Bedok,while CGL extends to Changi T5.
Wh not build a new line similar to that of Hong Kong's Airport Express.
We do not know whether they might do this or not because for some lta said that it might be still unknown
I just realised when TEL is amended to Changi in 2040 then the trains are actually retired since 2040 is 20 years apart from 2020 and an train in singapore have an average lifespan of 20-25 years

I don't like the Idea of this because why build a n extention to changi airport, its fine so why not build a new platform to serve the TEL?

It was actually C151 that is the old color of c651 c151 is not refurbished until 2008 in 2008 all c151 is refurbished and c651 remains coloured as old c151 livery

The Thomson-East Coast Line can carry 15 or 10 pigs inside on the CT251 train but east west line can carry more than 30 pigs in the train so east west line is more longer than thomson east cost line
