yeah,, the interactive gestures and UI hints were too new at the time, especially for people switching from feature phones. It was a lot to take in. If it came out today, I think people would be way more into it.

Love how transparent you guys are about your inspirations! It’s refreshing to see a company openly share what motivates them instead of pretending it’s all from scratch. This honesty is what builds real trust with your audience-keep up the great work! 👏
Man, seeing all these old phones bringing back hella memories. Got me feeling so old now hahaha. Crazy to see how far the tech has improved compared to years ago.
It's nice to see that nothing puts so much effort and practicality in mind while designing the OS and being open from where the inspiration comes from.
It feel so good to see, how they maintain the transparency with customer, by unveiling each thing be it , stories, or some cool stuff, actually highlighting hard works of people, from marketing, developers, designers. A company truly wants to make tech fun again, rather than just earning profits by launching not so cool phones like other companies do. Really appreciate the hard work, and a Proud Nothing Fan.
It's amazing to see how they blended elements from iconic designs into something fresh and innovative. Nothing OS really nails that balance between familiarity and a unique aesthetic. Props to the team for pushing smartphone design forward
I love Nothing videos! They're always so refreshing and different from the typical tech launch videos. Carl does a great job of keeping things interesting and engaging, and it's clear that he really listens to the feedback from the community. I'm excited to see what they come up with next!
Wow, this was such a cool throwback! Seeing how different operating systems inspired each other over the years is amazing. From the iPhone’s game-changing design to Palm's ideas that were way ahead of their time - it's all so nostalgic. It's great that Nothing OS is trying to bring back that warmth and creativity in design. It’s not just about making things work but making them feel good to use too. Can’t wait to see where they go next!
Nokia had a filp phone with dual screen (small one on the outside.) that phone had probably the best OS/UI. I remember using that phone to flex on my friends saying "I can change the songs without even flip opening the phone" even though it was a flip phone.
The excitement that Mladen has for good and unique design is so palpable, I love it- Windows Phones always drew my eyes towards them in public cuz of how amazing the design was; I feel the same way with Nothing OS, the focus on widgets is a great idea and I hope they keep expanding on them further and further

Just relishing these designs takes me back to how long we have come in these phone designs and UI. That lumia, blackberry 9700 and htc one are real nostalgia.
It's really cool that Nothing has been really open about their phones and where they're inspiration comes from. It was nice to wake up and go down memory lane
I love how you transparently say where you are getting your ideas from. That's just a cooler way of advertising and building up a connection with customers 😆
I love the way a lot of thought went into 2A. The overall design feel is so good. Sometimes it is not about specs all the way but the refined user experience.

Love how the Nothing Phone's OS perfectly complements its design, it’s awesome to see how your devs prioritize both form and function in such a balanced and thoughtful way!
respect where respect is due, admitting that some companies are/were better than us in some regards in a power move and it takes guts to admit that. kudos to the team
Glad to see a company that still actually cares about their products and software. Actually trying to innovate, unlike all the major companies. Love your work Nothing team❤️
Woah, the nostalgia hits hard! Sony Ericsson, Nokia 6600, and those song-sharing sessions via IR. HTC's animations were like a party for your eyes! Whenever you unlocked your screen, a delightful animation related to the current weather with sound would greet you. NothingOS stands out as a truly remarkable and exceptional! 😍
one of the reason i choose nothing over others brand is how simple yet innovative the nothing os is. every time when you gonna open it, you'll love it. amazing 😊
Bought my first Nothing Featured Phone this Year... well that followed by a Nothing Watch too. The Phone with its OS and its Quality of Life features really got me surprised. It is the Best Phone Experience if gotten over the past years, less Bugs and Problems then on my Samsung Device and or Apple Phone. Gotta hand you the 5Stars for that. Keep it up
I love the fact that the phone technology is advancing at such a pace and having a brand which listens to their customers is really appreciated though not the best for now but the potential is there so I fully support "Nothing" I'm really excited about the future development of " Nothing" brand
I appreciate the effort they put into the OS rather than just launching another phone without major upgrades. Also, I appreciate the transparency (they do it like it is their motto). Waiting for the update. Kudos to simplicity. Really want a comeback from BlackBerry
Absolutely loved Windows phone and the way they went about the OS. It was such a breath of fresh air! The little bits of content "peeking" was such an intuitive way to convey that there was more to be seen, the type-heavy, content-first approach with the stripped back chrome was so clean. I was also really sad that it couldn't really carry on. Anyway, glad to see Nothing have such thoughtful designers who just have a great appreciation for these sorts of things.
Loved that the nothing UI was designed keeping so many ideas in mind. Just shows how serious Nothing takes the user experience. There are so many phones out there with lots of good hardware but shitty and buggy software. No use of the hardware numbers and specs if your software can't utilize it. Loved that nothing is carefully thinking about all this and it shows in its products. Great work. So inspirational.
I, together with like 19 other people, really loved the Windows Phone back then. I'm a massive clean typography and flat design fan and this was right up there.
The Metro UI of Windows Phone was genuinely ahead of its time. It introduced a refreshing simplicity and elegance that felt incredibly intuitive and modern. The clean lines, vibrant live tiles, and focus on typography created a seamless, user-friendly experience that broke away from the cluttered, icon-heavy approach of other systems. It was a bold move that emphasized functionality through form, proving that an interface could be both beautiful and effective without relying on excessive ornamentation.
As a former Windows Phone user (LG Optimus 7), I must say that I loved that phone and that its performance was fantastic. Microsoft failed to make a name for itself in a market already dominated by Android and iOS, which is a shame. I hope that you Nothing guys, keep up the good ideas that you have been showing us since Nothin OS was born. Can`t wait por 3.0
really love the idea of taking ideas from early tech and ui design, especially since these days the only design trend in tech is oversimplification and minimalism
