Ah nice one mate, this just popped up on my home page and as someone who is planning to drive the M50 in June it gives me an idea on what it’s like 😁 Bit different from the M50 that’s local to me in the UK that’s for sure haha 😂
being the only road to effectively get around Dublin this is often the rush hour traffic and the rush hour is stretching to in include most of the working day according to the National roads authority
they haven't been removed they put up the gantries when they did the upgrade a few years back and I believe they are now finally working on the ducting etc to go live in 2021
Driving on the outside lane...? I heard the outside lanes are supposed to be used only for overtaking ?? (in Ireland) and there are penalty points and fines for not adhering to this ....
Yes, I was in the overtaking lane to overtake the other vehicles. I can't control the speed or actions of the vehicles in front of me or force them out of my way.
@@johnkilcullen1051 I noticed that when the exit 11 was being taken that the cammer was going faster than the cars in lanes 2 or 3. This happens a lot on Irish urban motorways at full capacity and often cannot be helped. I believe that many cars in lane 3 chose that lane in the often mistaken belief that they will get through to their destnation faster. I have often found that it quicker to stay in lane 1, which is often empty, to make progress. Too many doddlers crowd into lane 3 at rush hour and clog things up. Learners are not allowed on the motorways in Ireland until they are fully qualified so learners get NO motorway training, only a theory test at the start of learning.Lane discipline is non-existent in Ireland.
Once congestion reaches a certain level the overtake rule becomes just a theory. Wish people obeyed it as soon free flow resumes and congestion would be held off for longer. In US they complain of the inefficiency of the driver services facilities yet you can apply for a license and have your driving test and license often within an hour or 2. In Ireland it can be a year or 2 wait. And it has been this way for decades.
Hi, I was just wondering if i could a clip from this video for a youtube video. I do not make any money from youtube and wish to upload a clip of this to my youtube channel. Would I have the permission to do so? Thanks
People who do these drive videos are usually nice and would share their videos in a heart beat but there are exceptions. My brother for example, you have to walk on eggshells, and he wouldn't give you the steam off his piss.
Harris' on the Long Mile rd were a big importer of Hino Trucks some decades ago. Still popular with some sand and gravel hauliers but the Scania trucks have taken over big time in recent years.

@@takeadrive No problem at all and it’s actually the other way round. Very rare to see any traffic like that on ours at any time of the day
Thanks for that. Very relaxing. Was checking out your 2010 vids. So many changes.

Lane discipline is not very good in Ireland.

which motorway do you like the UK or ireland i like ireland since its way better also what does n mean like n1 n2 n7
I think they're quite similar. The 'N' just stands for National primary road
@@takeadrive Ohhhhh okay now make more sense

Jesus Christ it a long enough way down 👎 have to get a other ride
50 km/h? This a joke?
That's just my channel icon :)
You undertook a car
On urban motorways at such speed differences this does not count as undertaking. A cop will not pull for such a move.
