Now I just gotta place an order for Converse. I can’t wait longer anymore (also yes I’m on a DT hyperfixation era so Doctor is influence I can actually use greatly)
It's kinda funny, that the best characters he played so far had no audition for him. He was always asked to play them. The Doctor, Alec Hardy, Killgrave, Cale, Scrooch McDuck, Crowley ...
I'm obsessed with David, he's a talented man, Marvel made a great choice casting him as Kilgrave. I feel a little disappointed because this character could be a great villain in other Marvel's films or tv shows.
Tbf I wanted him to survive to see him fight thanos coz I know nothing would suggest he would be in if he survived but could u imagine him in spider man and endgame
Wish he's back somehow for another show or movie or whatever in the future. He's the most interesting villain on MCU and it's a shame he got killed so fast.
I just love him because he is soo himself. As an actor he can make anything his own, and that is real talent. But also as a person he's so sweet, kind, funny and humble. There is nothing about him you can't like. I'll be a fan forever ❤
I am old enough to be his mother….but dang! David Tennant is incredibly handsome and totally charming…and I could listen to his lyrical Scottish accent all day. He is 47 years old in this interview and looks so much younger. On top of all that, he is a brilliant actor, eloquent, and with amazing insights.
@@Sunny-lp1gr As the saying goes…women want to marry him (or be his mother for women my age) and men want to be his mate. LOL. And thanks for your reply…brought me back to rewatch this amazing interview. Cheers!
I am in awe whenever I can watch him in Shakespeare. I'm so thankful that his Hamlet, Richard II, and his Benedict in Much Ado About Nothing were recorded. I wish some of his early plays had been recorded. He has close to 60 stage performances.
It amaze me how David gets progressibly more liberated up to the point where he completely unleash his chaotic nature close to the end. I think the exact break point is after the actress asked the question about having fun in castings and if she should shake the casting director's hand or not.
Agreed. Kilgrave was one of the most creepy (and at the same time), the most brilliant villains the MCU had, also well performed by David. I'm dreaming, but I'd like see Purple Man in a team with Zemo. Marvel, pls, bring Kevin back. 😭😭😭😭😭
I watched the first season of Jessica Jones and after Kilgrave was killed (spoiler alert) and I don't know if I can finish the show without him. If they somehow brought him back from the dead or if David played another marvel character I'd be so happy
Yeah and he didn't really listen to anything David said, he was too focused on himself and his prepared questions. I hate how there are brilliant interviews that don't last 5 minutes and here's this guy getting half an hour with DT... No he wasn't horrible, but he did leave much to be desired.
23:31 Ep. 9 is definitely a great one! 25:30 I wish I could see his version of Edgar in King Lear and judge it for myself. XD King Lear is one of my favourite Shakespeare plays! 28:24 LOL I've gotta say I love what the stylists on Jessica Jones have done. 😂 30:18 He's such a brilliant storyteller. 🤣
How David answers a question: "WEEEELLLLLL no it's not quite like that, you never know with these things. Although YES, obviously there is a bit of that, always. You just have to be happy to be there cause you never know."
He reads bedtime stories, reads The How to Train Your Dragon books, performs plays, and other shows on radio. He also has done a lot of voice work for animated series and shows. And he recites some Shakespeare sonnets online.
Shakespeare gobbledygook? "You, madam, are not worthy to black Shakespeare's boots". He said something like that to Catherine Tate on her show. Hilarious but she wasn't "bovvered".
If you haven't seen him in Shakespeare, you are missing his best. It's part of why he is often called the greatest stage and screen actors of his generation. His Hamlet is considered one of the finest, and he is a great interpeter of Shakespeare.
Tony Fiori yes he is a very very good actor and I still remember him as Doctor 10th Doctor not the one I was very happy with that wasn't very nice but he did passing roads off on his twin brother from personal experience my ex-husband tried to pass me off to every guy so that's why I understood where I was coming from rose coming form but if he was to come back again I bet you anything she would take him back if he asked her to me
Kilgrave is awesome XDDD thanks for uploading this! I’m also a huge fan of Doctor Who haha “You sexy motherfuckerrr!” XD I’m sorry I came here to hear that
I’m kinda sad that kilgrave literally gives no way to vouche for him. He wasn’t abused when he was young (other than the lab experiments, which were for his own good, but nonetheless brutal), and he actually hurt people from the time he got his powers til now. I want to say he can become good, but he’s got 0.5% good in him, 99.5% pure evil made from his own self.
David said this in an interview with Seth Meyer, “From childhood anything he says becomes fact. He has no way of knowing what's appropriate and what isn't.” Yes, he wasn't abused but when he did so many horrible things that's because he doesn't understand that those things are wrong. He has no concrete sense of what's wrong and what's right. And that went on till he was adult, he did bad and disgusting things. Because of this, I also think he can never be redeemed. He will always believe he's not a villain. His ability is more like a curse.
I feel quite the opposite. You see all these characters that are pure evil, that lack motivation and the logic behind them is just non-existent. Kilgrave has a background, has a reason why he's so psychopatic and apathic and is very logical and believable. You can understand why a kid that grows with an unstoppable ability of bending the reality to his will CONSTANTLY without even knowing it, could end up being so terrible and unsettling. Technically, it's not his fault. You develop empathy as you grow up just by seeing suffering, pain, upset, disconfort, anger, etc in other living beings. He didn't have that, everyone around him was pleased by whatever he manifested. How can you disern what's right and what's wrong in that situation? Of course he's a piece of shit, but at the same time, you sort of feel sorry for how things worked out for him. You wonder how everything could have been for Kevin if not for being drown by that inmense power. He doesn't even know what being loved or cared for is. I'm not saying you should feel bad for him, but he's such an incredible unsettling and disturbing villant because of the story that made him be.
This guy is a horrible interviewer. He gets half a hour with David tennant and sticks to his preplaned questions. Also he’s called the doctor not doctor who. For the bit where you talk about him wanting to be the doctor
