Please CDPR devs, I implore you to not give in to the loud noises in the background. Keep your focus on the timeless work you're producing. We're waiting. Take all the time you need!
Yeah that’s why I decided to make videos on it, I watched the trailer and was so excited after, and then I just saw a bunch of people raging, it blew my mind 🤯
"War Man"? It's normal. Most gamers are men, so they prefer games where you play as men(of course not everyone). The changes made to the game, where you replace a man with a woman, make players feel bad, especially in times of woke virus. I don't see anything strange in this.
@@onof9523 Someone else said it best. If you beat a dog over and over again it will run away when you try to give it a treat because it sees a raised hand. When you abuse the consumer base of the gaming subculture with things they repeatedly say they don't like and don't want, they will be instinctively distrustful. It's very understandable and frankly rational.
@@onof9523in the case of the Witcher 4 it makes perfect sense to play as ciri a woman. Everyone that played TW3 should’ve known/expected this unless you’re brain dead or didn’t finish the game
The Witcher 4 Trailer is awesome, Ciri looks like Ciri and she is beautifully designed. You instantly know it is Ciri, she is neither "uglified" nor unrealistically "prettified". There are so many little details in the trailer that give me pure The Witcher vibes. I hope CDPR will focus on their vision for the game and not let them getting disturbed of this from the outside. And to all of those crying "lore broken" please educate yourself before doing so, perhaps read the books or let someone who read them explain (I recommend the channel "Wera", she for example did a ranking of the books, the games and the TV show, and she has very informative videos about the lore and the plot and so on). On the other hand, then they probably will find out that Ciri is by lore bisxuall and that it would be completely reasonable if we get a female romance interest in the game, if there are romance options at all...
@@KotleKettlesay what about Ciri? She wasn't really ugly in trailer. And she did had a girl lover. Her being bi is not that big of a deal. For now i simply wish they give us a really good explenation why and how did she go through trial of grass.
do you know what is also sad to see? game Dev's like Cian Maher saying he and Caitlin will punch gamers together and how people that like Cyberpunk are facists tell me when did talking down to your customers ever result in better sales? oh wait you wont because... its all raggebait, even tho he and that Matt Hensen dude have been caught in 4k HD posting this stuff. also, you dont consider to seem to factor in that its a trend now to just blame gamers for everything that goes wrong and bad, not even seemingly willing to admit that we saw time and time again products fail over and over after being ruined with bs, like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Dragon Age, Assassins Creed, and more. but okj, rage bait... noted edit: also, witcher 3 came out in 2015. most of the dev's that worked on witcher 3 and Cyberpunk left and created a new studio called Rebel Wolves and are making a new game called Dawnwalker.
@@PaulseTV congrats. now all you need to do is acknowledging the other "trends". you can praise witcher 4 as much as you want, the reality is, Gamers have been burned enough as it is. its only natural people are critical of stuff considering the past few years. especially considering how openly CDPR is with their embrace of DEI woke stuff. as far as gamers are concerned, its a massive indicator that stuff is repeating itself again, just like the other 10 tripple A games such as Flintlock, Forspoken Dragon Age Veilguard, Concord, Dustborn, South of Midnight. all gamers do isn recognise a patern, so blame people all you want, reality is, that Dev's made it like this with their antics. 70 euro's for a game is a lot, if you flop out half broken games like AC Valhalla and Star Wars outlaws and sprinkle dei, girlboss, butch lesbo girlbosses in them over and over, certainly it isnt weird gamers are concerned. but, it seems that you already forgot how broken and disasterous Cyberpunk release was and that it took them years to fix it up to quality. also, how many dev's and ceo's have attacked gamers over the years for their fails and flops? gameor movie fails and first thing they do is attack fans. Rachel Zegler, Amandala Stenberg with her disstrack, now this Tati Gabrielle who is attacking people over voicing concern for the Intergalatic. they do it time and time again and people frankly have enough of it.
@@TheRealSladeValentine I totally understand your frustration, I’m not saying you don’t have a right to have your opinion or you’re crazy for having doubts. I just think that CDPR is different than a lot of those other AAA companies, and I think their talent will shine through. For example, I’ve given up on Ubisoft after playing outlaws, it was just a bad game overall. But seeing as how phantom liberty was such an amazing game expansion, and CDPR just dropped it, I think they could still have the hot hand.
@@PaulseTV you seem to ignore the fact that i already said that the people that worked on Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk have left and opend a new studio called Rebel Wolves and work on a new game called Dawnwalker. all that is left now at CDPR seem to be activists like that Cian Maher dude who seems to think people that liked cyberpunk are facist, poisonous w@nkers. those where his words btw and seeing how CDPR isnt even trying to reign him in it appears they are very much agreeing with the dude. also, they have a whole side section on their website how much they love DEI stuff and that they actively look for "diversity" hires. idk bout you but... i for one think of games like Veilguard and SuicideSquad: Kill the Justice League and Dustborn and Alan Wake 2 and Concord and South of Midnight and AC Shadows when i hear "DEI Hiring". and what do all those games have in common? or right... they all failed and lost hundreds of millions.
Except those tweets are past tweets. The anti-woke mob really has become exactly like the wokes themselves, digging up past tweets in an effort to find dirt and have something to rage about. Over 400 people are working on the TW4, do we really expect all of them to not have any problematic past tweets? Edit: It's misinformation to say that most devs who worked on the witcher 3 and cyberpunk have left the company and created a new studio called Rebel Wolves. If that's the real, then Rebel Wolves would be a massive studio, almost as big as CDPR now considering how many devs worked on TW3 and CP77. The real number is around half, not most.
Despite the letdown that Cyberpunk was (at first), CDPR has never failed in the story aspects of their games. Am I a little cautious? Yes. But am I more than willing to give this game a chance? Absolutely!
Appreciate you 🙌 yeah I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt until I see enough evidence that I shouldn’t, and I just haven’t seen that much evidence yet
the peoplke that worked on witcher 3 are gone. and made a new studio called rebel wolves. they are currently making a vampire themed rpg called Dawnwalker
I'm honestly curious how this will turn out. The Witcher has a lot of gray areas that they can use to explain the questions I have. All the games had "redcons" and they always managed to explain it. So far, if something isn't explicitly explained in the book, they've used it and it's never been a problem, until now. Personally, I'm optimistic for now and ignore all the rage on the internet. They haven't let me down yet and I hope they won't let me down now.
Yeah, the Witcher lore is very vague tbh, there's very little worldbuilding in the books (intentionally). And in the past CDPR even managed to circumvent some canon that seemed pretty unambiguous - like Regis dying. And it was absolutely worth it :)
I am quite downgraded myself. I am 43 now. When i was 20, it was a different guy on photos. Guess life downgraded me by purpose. And what is really annoying, is that many of these rage people talk for everyone. And call me who is excited for this game, a simp and DEI defender. Ok. Remember when hogwarts was released? People got bullied so they started to cry on stream. Bullied by "the left" and those who is raging now couldn't believe what they saw. "The left" is so fucked up they said, they are straight up bullying people, you cant reason with them. Let people like the game they said. Now it is reversed. People who is excited for a game is getting hate and called a bunch of things. Just shows that the thing they defended when hogwarts was released, is doing the same shit themselves. The irony here man. .The double morals are on the top. Strange world we live in. It is ok to defend a game when they like it but when they don't like it, everyone else who likes it are idiots? Doesn't make sense.
The entire Hogwarts Legacy thing is weird especially seeing as Rowling was, and still is, a leftist. She just disagrees with leftists on trans issues, and because of that, a game made by devs that aren't even related to her, became a weird battleground. The entire thing is a joke.
I'm with you on this. I hate what the extremists at the woke side have done to to gaming. All the cringe DEI stuff, etc. But we should also be careful not to be extremists ourselves. It's ridiculous that people are already calling TW4 woke several years before it's even released. Wanna know why I think TW4 trailer wasn't pandering to the woke crowd? Because all the villagers were white, and doesn't look like 2024 California. If you just watch interviews from CDPR, especially on their AnsweRed podcast, you'll see how passionate these people are for their games. The associate game director for the next cyberpunk game - Pawel Sasko already said that they're not gonna pander to either side of the political spectrum. Would there be woke elements on the next games? Sure. If you played their games, there have always been woke elements. LGBT characters, strong women, etc. The reason why their games weren't known as "woke" is that they're not pandering and cringe. I have faith in CDPR, and I do agree that trashing them before their new games are even released is going to do more harm than good. Let's judge their games when they're already released or at least near release when we have more info and trailers to judge the new games on.
FACTSSSSSS. They aren’t idiots, I believe they’ll handle the political topics intelligently, I don’t think they will fly off the rails and turn this game into a propaganda engine
(Phantom Liberty SPOILERS AHEAD) CDPR characters have a lot of strong women but they never feel pandering to feminists. Phantom Liberty just came out late 2023 and they weren't afraid to portray a woman as the big bad villain - President Myers. And depending on how you view the narrative, Songbird can be a real wacko of a woman too. So yeah, if we're just basing on their most recent releases, I'm not on board with calling CDPR woke. Their games are very balanced and contains elements that all sides of the political spectrum can appreciate.
How do we define this? Technically, CDPR is still independent. Same with Larian. CDPR is not behind a huge publisher. It's just that they themselves became really big so they're a big company now, but still independent.
@@vorathiel12345 So can you identify which shareholder as the control over them? Because there's a ton of shareholders and I very much doubt they all have the same ideas. My point is, they're not under some big publisher like Take Two for example who can supercede their decisions when it comes to the games they're making. Do they aim to please their investors? Of course, but there's not one who controls them. CDPR still decides for CDPR.
This game will be the defining moment, it will either confirm that anti-woke are becoming what they disliked and confirm the continuation of the move away from traditional right-wing tropes in games or they will cheer that there is less of what they dislike present while still accepting a female protagonist that doesn't meet their beauty standards (their beauty standard is Stellar Blade's Eve.) Lore buffs will always have a problem if they identify more with Geralt which I think is the main point of contention, that and any attempts to make a female witcher ended in failure even though very few attempts were made as compared to men, but having success with men they decided to not use women - which is the same as the right-wing ideology of men being the military standard.
I think it's important to remember what "anti-woke" is. I consider myself anti-woke. Because i detest having modern, current politics shoved down my throat. I do not wish to be forced to use gender pronouns in my games or having to put up with agressive, obnoxious feminist rhetorics. That being said, the recent shift in this community, where no woman is attractive, unless she looks like Eve from stellar blade is really beginning to piss me off. You even got some people whining "girlboss" simply because a woman can use weapons and kill people. All i want is to return game making standarts to the times where none of this bullshit existed (pre-2017 imo) I love Witcher. And personally, i'm very excited to play Witcher 4. Even though i know of CDPR's ties to ESG right now, i'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for this game. Hope i don't get dissapointed.
anti-woke already becoming what they dislike - Bashing game based on character race and gender ✔ - Bashing game based on character appearance ✔ - Bashing game developer based on their political belief ✔ - Bashing game developer based on their race and gender ✔ - Bashing game developer based on their tweet and their past history ✔ - Bashing face model based on their appearance ✔
@@kleberson777 They were always like that the controls for that were loosened so now it's on full display. edit: and by they I mean the people that are like that.
You took the words right out of my mouth. There is a lot of woke bs to rally against, on a lot of issues I see it exactly like those guys, but not on this. I think they nailed the balance between her being a little rougher and seasoned, which she needs to be for this role, but there is still a lot of vulnerability and femineity in her expressions, her seeming to struggle harder with the physical side of things, the fighting and emotionally with the consequences of it all int he end. This is not the typical woke culture and good sense erasing style as far as I can see, judging it from the trailer it's looks like the opposite of that, this is how you approach writing a character like that and personally I hope they won't change a thing.
"well i think we all have amnesia". Eeeh no, most people cant forget something they didnt know in the first place, and that is the fact that CDPR today consists of a tiny fraction of those that developed The witcher 3 and even Cyberpunk 2077. Thats precisely why Bioware churned out that loaf of crap they called Dragon age veilguard, it was developed by activist amateurs because the old guard and veterans long left the studio due to poor management. All the Talent that made the witcher 3 DESPITE serious mismanagement left CDPR and founded their own Studio called Rebel Wolves. As a pole, it has become rather alarming how many of the Big City based studios fell for Western DEI and ESG bullcrap While Asian Studios go the exact opposite route to find massive success. The average gamer will not click with millenial writing and blatant modern political activism in their game. So us normal folk who see tweets from CDPR´s Lore designer wanting to punch "gamers" because of "internalized bigotry" will simply respond by not playing the game. Do i think the witcher 4 will flop? no. Do i think it will sell better than Witcher 3, hell no. But most importantly, i think the Witcher 5 will be met with indifference precisely because CDPR didnt manage to hold their talent unlike Larian Studios. They have become Corporate like EA and Ubisoft and thus their products will reflect it in the worst way possible. What a shame.
I keep seeing people say that all of the veterans left, is that actually true? Or did a large group of veterans leave, and then a bunch of veterans stayed? This is a very important piece of information imo
@@PaulseTV That's just what EndymionTV and those who believe whatever he says as the word of god claim. Games like CP77 and TW3 are developed by hundreds of people, and the way the game industry works.. they kinda rotate people. Most devs, after a game is released, they move on to another studio or create their own. That is whether the game they released was a success or not. You can bet a lot of people left Larian too after BG3. Unless we go deep into company records or they release the numbers themselves, we'll never fully know the number, but an estimate by a channel who closely followers CDPR and one that is not involved in this culture war says that it's around 50% that's left. Not "most" like what the rage mob says. A lot of the important people involved in making Phantom Liberty are now working on the Cyberpunk sequel, that we know.
Yeah, let's just ignore the fact that not a single Witcher 3 dev left in the team, let's ignore that they switched to UE5 meaning not a single competent dev is left in the team, and let's ignore that the dev ignored the fact that an adult person, let alone a woman, cannot survive the mutation process into Witcher. And let's ignore the fact that a 25 year old woman looks like she is in her late 40th, even though it was ok for them to ignore the fact that Geralt was described in the book as thin and wiry, and far from handsome , yes it was okay for the devs to make him handsome and bulk in Witcher 3, yet somehow making Ciri beautiful is a problem.
Well, Gosia Mitręga told in an interview, that there are still some devs in the team working for CDPR from the very first Witcher-game on. So, would you say, shes lying to us? Another conspiracy theory? What do you mean with "the dev ignored the fact that an adult person, let alone a woman, cannot survive the mutation process into Witcher"? It was tried once, and then dropped for girls. Would Edison experiment that way we would never get any lightbulb... Ciri isn´t 25 now (as you should already know) - she is some years older, she went through the Trial of Grasses and is living the very arduous life of a full-fledged witcher now. I for myself consider that enough to explaing her (beautiful btw) looks in the trailer.
The game will do the taking, yeah cyberpunk's launch was a mess with bugs but the foundation of the game was great and they fixed those issues and improved the game. CDPR are one of the best around when it comes to quests, characters and story, their track record speaks for itself, but anger and rage baiting has blinded people to that fact. Ciri's story is in good hands. The things I'm interested about is open-world level design, RPG elements and gameplay/combat.
Also gotta stop with the us vs them narratives cause that’s why things are also getting too heated as well. People are seeing others as enemies and it’s unhealthy. The whole it’s the woke devs ruining games is a ridiculous narrative that makes gaming more hostile. While criticism of a company and a game is alright, people should not be targeting and harassing devs, calling them evil or whatever and “DEI hires” when you know next to nothing about them Wokeness is used as a catch all term for what’s bad with gaming, but it’s not as a simple as that as there are so many practices that make some games worse Such as corporate greed. Suicide Squad and Concord for example tried to appeal to a wide audience and be a live service game Dragon Age Veilguard had some scenes with iffy dialogue and was a change in game direction. Most of the time it’s not the inclusion of lgbt or colored characters or women that is the problem. The real issues are just bad written characters and corp greed influences those decisions
Yeah, do we really think that making the people who develop our games our enemies is going to make things better? It’s a crazy strategy, healthy criticism is an amazing thing, it’s very important for a functioning free society. But criticism can quickly get out of hand and turn into malice. Appreciate the comment Homie
@@PaulseTV Well the thing is that they have been attacking customers left, right and center and it only takes so much for someone to say that they had enough. Read the room, people are SICK AND TIRED of their constant bullying and want them to go back to making good games. Games that don't push agendas, games that don't talk down to the customer, games that are just good, honest fun with great stories and great characters and nothing more. You apparently don't listen to the people you criticize as that is all that they are wanting at the end of the day but you seem to take the side of the big company whenever you can and that is why you are getting criticism for that and is why their channels are 10 times bigger than yours. More people agree with their opinions than they do yours and you keep going after them for them only makes you look bad and will keep your channel small. Players don't really like people who defend gaming companies that bully them and would go to channels that don't and listen to them. It is just the way that the cookie crumbles. Don't expect to see much growth by constantly going after them. People listen to Endymion, Vara, Jeremy from Geeks&Gamers cause more people agree with their opinions than they do yours. I prefer watching them cause they all have good opinions on things and going by how little subs you have, more people DISAGREE with you than the agree with you. So maybe if you stopped going after them, you would be liked more cause the things they say aren't really all that bad. They call the BS out when they see it and in the western AAA gaming industry, there has been A LOT of it these days and when it comes to games that don't push agendas they praise them cause that is what THE VAST MAJORITY of people want.
@@khaledassaf6356 How am I the triggered one for simply pointing out the facts? You calling me triggered is what someone who is ACTUALLY TRIGGERED would do. Nice try at a weak insult. Insults DO NOT win arguments. If you have to resort to them, YOU HAVE LOST THE ARGUMENT. plain and simple.
As I said on your last video, I think calmer heads will prevail, but I actually think a lot of people concerned about this release have every reason to be skeptical. W3 and CP both had bad launches, with CP2077 being one of the worst game launches ever. It was 2 to 3 years before that game became a "great game", and CDPR hasn't won back most of the audience they burned on that release. They got lucky that most people forget that about W3, but people won't forget Cyber Punk, nor should they. Combine that with the recent controversy regarding one dev lying to the public about their DEI policy (and why do that??) Then getting obliterated immediately by people pointing out material on their own website, And then another dev who publicly states he hates the people he's making the game for (wants to punch them)... I think the balanced take is actually to be incredibly skeptical of them, but to also give them an opportunity for the game to be released first. The truth is you are only as good as your next (or final) "at bat". I don't think backing them up before the game is out is necessarily a good thing. Maybe not a bad thing either but you get my point.
Thanks for coming back and commenting on the video! I don’t think your points are bad, I can’t say that the game will have a perfect launch, that’s Forsure, but they usually get it together, I still play Witcher 3 and cyberpunk. And yeah the internal controversies were slightly alarming, but not damning in my personal opinion. They have so many intelligent people on their team, I don’t think a few bad eggs will sink the ship, but only time will tell. Everyone has a few kooks in their family, but I’m banking on the veterans to smooth it out haha
A lot of the people slaming the woke extremist for spreading misinformation and dei propaganda are now doing the same think on the other side of the spectrum and became extrem without even realizing. They scream woke at the first thing without even checking for themselves. I‘ve read the books 12 times in multiple languages including polish and english and played the games uncountable times as well, i can easily say the trailer looked perfect, there is no lore breaking so far and everything the devs said in every interview ive watched sounds insanly promising hooooly im hyped for this
The devs who made Witcher 1-3 were fired and replaced with a new team that fits CD Projekt Red's new DEI standards (after the original team laid the technical groundwork for the new game, only for the replacement team to alter the work with a new story) The only people biting the hands of the creators of Witcher are the corpo's at CD Projekt Red. Show them who's boss- don't buy their game. (By the way, the original Witcher and Cyberpunk devs have started a new company and are working on a new game. . . Spend your money there)
Bro whatever, turning ciri into a mutated witcher when she has elder blood is just wrong on soo many levels. Wy would she turn herself into a witcher when she is more powerful than a witcher. Geralt, vesemir or any other known character would have never wanted her to become a witcher. I dont care abut how many great games CD Pr has made in the past. Witcher is something which needs to stay true to its lore for people who have played the previous games and have some knowledge about the books. i have no problem with the way Ciri looks in the trailer. The only problem is she drinkig portions and casting weak ass witcher spells against that monster when she can basically one shot it with her elder blood powers. Its like they are making Ciri into female Geralt which makes me loose hope for Witcher 4.
Ya man it doesn't matter what they have done before. They are trying to shove forced agendas down our throat and these idiot youtubers are just defending them because CDPR feeds them.
You (and many complaining gamers more) assume, Ciri is still in full possesion of her elder blood abilities. Why so sure about it? The fight against the Wild Hunt and the Frost was a difficult ane, wouldn´t you say? Is it that impossible, she has (partially) lost her powers even before she went through the Trial of Grasses? BTW, neither Vesemir, nor Geralt would manage to control Ciri, if she wants to do something they oppose. She always was a free spirit.
@@amarillion388i' m not a fan of her going through trial of grasses. But i hope they explain it in a way that make sense. Also i doubt she lost her power. I would guess she rejected her power just like magic in books.
Because it is the "Witcher". Dude, you are speculating without knowing anything about the story line. There are many feasible explanations you just don't seem to want to know...guilty till proven Innocent. You might be right but cdpr has a pretty good track record so far. Now if the fact that the new witcher is a woman is bothering you then you have a different issue. Solution, don't buy the game.

Ciri is probably 3 or 4 years older. I think most people have a problem with the plot and the fact that she is the protagonist(In these times it's a red flag. Alien would have had the same reaction if it had come out in those days 🤣) not her looks. But fact, people are oversensitive, but also I'm not surprised that they react like that. What's happening now in the film and gaming industry... "does not fill with joy" On the one hand, it's good that there is such a reaction, because CDPR now sees that any DEI-related moves in their game will be condemned. Apparently now they're going to add these things in DLC, or later in the game, so you can't return the game. Smart guys. Maybe now people will think twice before buying the game before its release. 😉
@@onof9523 I've only heard them say "a few years", I think they're being intentionally vague about how much time has passed, because it's something they don't want to reveal yet
Dude, CDPR aren't doing themselves any favours, when the people they're hiring for these projects are being openly hostile towards the consumer base. When has talking down to, and dismissing your customers, EVER resulted in better sales?
The game play alone y'know is gonna be majorly improved! CDPR are the only game company, to not devolve their game play they only improve. I'm gonna wait until we see more before I make my own full opinion.
Tbh I kind of hated Witcher 2 gameplay after the first game😅 But they were ambitious with it, weren't afraid to experiment with new features, and continued to improve greatly with W3 and then Cyberpunk. I'm excited to see what they're cooking up this time :)
Hate is entirely justified. CDPR should have known how people would react to the trailer considering every flop that released this year yet they decided to push with their "vision". Look at eastern devs, they know people like attractive characters so they provide. Stellar Blade, Marvel Rivals. Boom, instant hits, millions of copies sold, no controversy whatsoever.
It is the dark and cruel world of the Witcher, so no, characters shouldn't look like fecking models, unless they are a sorceress or something. Also Ciri doesn't look "ugly" in the trailer, whoever thinks that has been extremely brainwashed.
What a take. To hate the ENTIRE game out of a trailer, because Ciri doesn't have extremely overinflated body proportions to the point of bordering ridiculous, but actually looks like an athletic, pretty, natural human being instead of a notorious coomer doll is something i really don't envy you.
@@budmil324 i dont mind how Ciri looks asuming this is DECADES after the witcher 3... but turning her into a witcher when she has elder blood powers is bad writing not to mention the risks involved in her losing her life and or all human emotions...for what? Doesn`t it go against the tone that they set in the witcher 3 ? Where the world is slowly evolving to the point were the need for witchers is becoming less and less ...hence why we see the witchers schools in the state that they in or that their numbers dwindle to the point where there`s only a handful in each school(knowledge lost about the trial of the grasses aside). Now you tell me that not only they transform Ciri with all the above in mind even though her powers already surpasses those of a witcher but also a NEW school ? Why? Where the others bursting with witchers that they couldn`t accept Ciri`s admision or is it becasuse they were not "inclusive" enough or for a "modern" audience? LOL Ciri is much better as a Vesemir like character guiding the custom MC . Also they should have focused on making the game with character creator and call it the Last witcher or something like that where they can give us a diferent origin start similar to DAO and you can even make up a reason in lore to make this witcher ancient to keep in tone with what i said above.. like powerful magic or a curse where now you as an ancient witcher now find yourself into a world that no longer resembles the one from the past and your objective is to break the curse or to find a way back or find out who did this to you ...the posibilities are endless.
@@Lineage4you2 I was specifically pointing out an argument on her looks, but thank you. This is, of course a whole other topic. I share your concerns, to be honest. I could personally partially understand why ciri'd choose to undergo the trials. She is impulsive and stubborn. She actually hates having elder blood powers, for it paints a gigantic target on her back. The trial could also render her infertile, thus entirely erasing one of her biggest concerns in life. Remember, everyone wants to bang her to have superpower heirs... But i'll be honest, this is still a really long shot. Especially because the trials should always be undergone at a very young age. Ciri is an adult and the risk of death is very high. I also have my concerns for CDPR, as it now has ties to ESG. However, the trailer for example misses alot of typical DEI infection syndromes. There were no people of color, which would of course, be ridiculous for the lore. (That could only work in Zerikkania) There was no gender hysteria and overall "diversity". I have my concerns, but me personally, i prefer to give CDPR a chance to explain themselves, before i draw any conclusions. We still know very little.
Yes, especially when it comes to a commercial transaction, CDPR is not doing us favors, they're a business asking for our MONEY in exchange for a product, we are customers, not their friends, so these are just opinions true, but the opinion of a customer is called "the demand" and as a business their "offer" needs to meet that demand if they want the MONEY. Now maybe their strategy will work out in the end, don't know, but people "emotionalizing" it are out of touch, and you can immediately see it when people start using terms as "hate" or "haters", for goodness sake, CDPR is selling you their sh*t, they're not your pals, customers hate products all the time, they're not "haters", they are dissatisfied customers. It's insane to see people coming a-running "defending" a corporation against "haters"...
Well said! If it comes out and it’s woke slop, I’ll criticize it. But until we see more I’m willing to give them benefit of the doubt. They have a great track record in terms of quality of writing and world building.
Must be nice to be ignorant. The main devs who made W3 no longer work at CDPR. The people who made the good games haven't lost their talent, but CDPR sure have.
But witcher had ending with her becoming witcher, right? If ciri can't be witcher it make no sense to make a custom character that will be witcher anyway. I will wait until game is done. No point judging it now.
@@dark-xh7fs she was a witcher symbolically not a fully turned witcher...it makes no sense for her to take the risk when the world is needing witchers less and less..i already explained above why and this was the tone of the last game that they set it up as..she already has powers...far beyond what a witcher has to offer...again it makes no sense for her to risk her life...to become infertile and also risk loosing her human side for what? again the wrold is needeing witchers less and less...if she wanted to hunt as a witcher she could have done that already with the powers she had...again it makes no sense and its bad writing. "o sense to make a custom character that will be witcher anyway" Of course it makes sesne as the cutom character has no elder blood lol.. also if the witcher is an ancient one then it fits the tone as he either comes from the past or was traped in time via a curse or powerful magic so no new witchers made...and we would have a character creator which is a plus.
Unfounded assumption. A new conjunction of the spheres will unleash a new age of monsters a renewed need for Witchers of all kinds. PS: Jeniffer recreated the trial of the grasses, mostly, in TW3, remember, so that's a mute point too.
@@NealeC-f4s It s not unfounded...its factual based on the tone witcher 3 the deveolpers set for the world to follow. The only unfounded asumption is yours that a new conjuntion will happen or that even if it does it will bring new monsters into the world and even if it does the world is more advanced now than it was when it first happened...again this is a major theme in the witcher 3 where the world moves on past the need of witchers hence why they barley get pay to cover even potion expenses. Yennifer didn`t recreate the trial of the grasess fully or sucessfuly ...she did only the begining parts to open the body to break the curse otherwise Avalach would have turned into a witcher so it`s not a mute point.

Thank you for being a voice of reason amidst the angry Mob. It is understandable where people are coming from due to the current standard of games and a few red flags, but its certainly too soon to make harsh and swift judgement.
Thnx Pulse, my sentiments exactly. The anti-woke mob is a minority but a potentially damaging one. The criticisms are disingenuous too, either petty or based on distorted "facts", to cover up the real complaint which is a sexist one but too embarrassing to the poster to state. Criticism can be good in this case if it averts a woke debacle at cdpr but as you stated a disaster if it destroys moral and creativity at the developer lever. Let's just hope calm heads prevail. I also think the anti woke click bait sites are digging their own graves with the ridiculous stuff they are posting so perhaps they should just keep on spewing.
Appreciate the comment homie, glad you liked the video, I’m just trying to calm things down a bit, I don’t think we need more voices that escalate the rage
this material looks like Red's PR department damage control. they hire questionable people strongly leaning to the left, they brag about rainbow support, they launch a program supported exclusively for women, actively supported the election campaign of a leftist party in poland, thanked old employees for their cooperation, and on top of that they start the game's promotional campaign with a teaser that sets off more red flags than hype. in the times of dark-skinned cleopatra, the little mermaid or gay transformers, am I supposed to count on the people who wanted to sell us cp2077 on ps4 to come to their senses? I'm going for the pitchforks and torches
People have every right to criticize CDPR. The company have completely embraced woke and DEI culture internally, the previous developers from the witcher 3 which is constantly referred to in this video have left, they switched from the RED engine to Unreal. Which could be a sign of newcomers not being familiar with their own engine. All of their great games came before all these massive changes. I personally don't mind Ciri being the main character nor am I bothered by her looks. But blindly putting faith in this game because they once made good games is reckless. I'll say let's wait and see. Let's hope the game proves the nay sayers wrong because if that's the case, we'll all get to enjoy a great game. If they are right, well, the writing was on the wall
You may be right, but probably speculating, but I haven't seen any evidence and certainly not in the new trailer unless your assumption is that a female protag automatically makes it woke. Dangerous ground!
There are 1300 employees, not every single veteran left. And I do completely think people have the right to criticize, I’m more addressing the pure rage I’m seeing. I just think there’s a difference between having concerns, and completely writing off/trashing the team based on a few concerning signs or annoying people at the company. I think people are too easily whipped up into a frenzy these days is all I’m saying
@PaulseTV absolutely. For years, we've had female protagonists, and no one really cared. But now someone has given it one specific word, and some people start becoming triggered little snowflakes. And what someone who's now working at CDPR said about gamers a few years ago isn't a good thing obviously but so what. I'm excited for the witcher 4 whether it's woke or not regardless. Either way I'm still excited about Ciri being a protagonist literally. This type of behavior over females in video games is just pathetic. We need a balance when it comes to male and female protagonists
Please CDPR devs, I implore you to not give in to the loud noises in the background. Keep your focus on the timeless work you're producing. We're waiting. Take all the time you need!
YESSSSS 💪🏼💪🏼
Lol I never would have expected this reveal to be so controversial. Culture war man, it's a plague.

You are not the Witcher fan, because you would never say that about Ciri if you were

do you know what is also sad to see?
game Dev's like Cian Maher saying he and Caitlin will punch gamers together
and how people that like Cyberpunk are facists
tell me when did talking down to your customers ever result in better sales? oh wait you wont because... its all raggebait, even tho he and that Matt Hensen dude have been caught in 4k HD posting this stuff. also, you dont consider to seem to factor in that its a trend now to just blame gamers for everything that goes wrong and bad, not even seemingly willing to admit that we saw time and time again products fail over and over after being ruined with bs, like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Dragon Age, Assassins Creed, and more. but okj, rage bait... noted
edit: also, witcher 3 came out in 2015. most of the dev's that worked on witcher 3 and Cyberpunk left and created a new studio called Rebel Wolves and are making a new game called Dawnwalker.
I actually mentioned the punching in this video lol
Absolutely!
Takes like this made me subscribe. I agree they deserve the benefit of expecting a good game with good lore.

Great point, there have been many breaks from lore since the books but nothing was said b/c it was Geralt.
Yeah, the Witcher lore is very vague tbh, there's very little worldbuilding in the books (intentionally). And in the past CDPR even managed to circumvent some canon that seemed pretty unambiguous - like Regis dying. And it was absolutely worth it :)
I appreciate you.
Appreciate you, thanks for the comment 🙏
Love Ciri looking foward to the game so long as they dont go down the Veilguard route with all the dumb stuff

True true @@PaulseTV
The entire Hogwarts Legacy thing is weird especially seeing as Rowling was, and still is, a leftist. She just disagrees with leftists on trans issues, and because of that, a game made by devs that aren't even related to her, became a weird battleground. The entire thing is a joke.
Hypocrisy at its finest , screw those people , don't bother and enjoy , decide for yourself .
FACTSSSSSS. They aren’t idiots, I believe they’ll handle the political topics intelligently, I don’t think they will fly off the rails and turn this game into a propaganda engine
we need to see gameplay before judging anything and it is ridiculous how people are hating on CDPR so much
Gameplay is 🔑
I'm really looking forward to this game to be honest. Witcher 3 was one of my all time favourite games. Even to this day.
Yeah same it’s still better than most triple A games that release
(Phantom Liberty SPOILERS AHEAD) CDPR characters have a lot of strong women but they never feel pandering to feminists. Phantom Liberty just came out late 2023 and they weren't afraid to portray a woman as the big bad villain - President Myers. And depending on how you view the narrative, Songbird can be a real wacko of a woman too. So yeah, if we're just basing on their most recent releases, I'm not on board with calling CDPR woke. Their games are very balanced and contains elements that all sides of the political spectrum can appreciate.
Leave the corpos alone 😭😭😭
The irony
How do we define this? Technically, CDPR is still independent. Same with Larian. CDPR is not behind a huge publisher. It's just that they themselves became really big so they're a big company now, but still independent.
@@beige_projection No. They are publicly traded company, they're no longer 'independent', they're accountable to the whims of the shareholders.
This game will be the defining moment, it will either confirm that anti-woke are becoming what they disliked and confirm the continuation of the move away from traditional right-wing tropes in games or they will cheer that there is less of what they dislike present while still accepting a female protagonist that doesn't meet their beauty standards (their beauty standard is Stellar Blade's Eve.)
Lore buffs will always have a problem if they identify more with Geralt which I think is the main point of contention, that and any attempts to make a female witcher ended in failure even though very few attempts were made as compared to men, but having success with men they decided to not use women - which is the same as the right-wing ideology of men being the military standard.
All i want is to return game making standarts to the times where none of this bullshit existed (pre-2017 imo)
I love Witcher. And personally, i'm very excited to play Witcher 4. Even though i know of CDPR's ties to ESG right now, i'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for this game. Hope i don't get dissapointed.

I was pumped when I saw the trailer, after reading some headlines today I’m back to being skeptical.
Okay let's start from the fact that Ciri is not a lesbian.
A very much needed voice of reason here. Thank you a lot, Paulse!
While criticism of a company and a game is alright, people should not be targeting and harassing devs, calling them evil or whatever and “DEI hires” when you know next to nothing about them
Wokeness is used as a catch all term for what’s bad with gaming, but it’s not as a simple as that as there are so many practices that make some games worse
Such as corporate greed.
Suicide Squad and Concord for example tried to appeal to a wide audience and be a live service game
Dragon Age Veilguard had some scenes with iffy dialogue and was a change in game direction.

Combine that with the recent controversy regarding one dev lying to the public about their DEI policy (and why do that??) Then getting obliterated immediately by people pointing out material on their own website,
And then another dev who publicly states he hates the people he's making the game for (wants to punch them)...
I‘ve read the books 12 times in multiple languages including polish and english and played the games uncountable times as well, i can easily say the trailer looked perfect, there is no lore breaking so far and everything the devs said in every interview ive watched sounds insanly promising hooooly im hyped for this
Yeah, same, I would be blown away if this game sucks, I just don’t see it happening lol
@@NealeC-f4s I won't, good luck wasting ur money on game where ciri faces sexism in the world and tries to fix problems like a woke boss lady.
I bet you can relate and can't wait to play the game. 👌👌👌
@cdprojectred you have to hear this. And the entire Witcher RUclips community needs to hear you. The way you explained everything to the haters of The Witcher is simply brilliant. Soon you’ll have a million subscribers, and I sincerely wish you that. The way you communicate with us is amazing! very few people have such talent. Thank you, and please keep doing what you’re doing. 👏
Appreciate you 🙏 I definitely will, people deserve a fair chance, especially when they’ve proven their talent in the past. Thanks for the sub!
"does not fill with joy"
On the one hand, it's good that there is such a reaction, because CDPR now sees that any DEI-related moves in their game will be condemned. Apparently now they're going to add these things in DLC, or later in the game, so you can't return the game. Smart guys. Maybe now people will think twice before buying the game before its release. 😉
they say it could be about 10 years after w3. for a woman it's a lot, for a witcher it's not much
@@Iskier Weird, I'm pretty sure they were talking about 3 years between games. 🤔
@@onof9523 aha, so it's even worse for them
@@onof9523 I've only heard them say "a few years", I think they're being intentionally vague about how much time has passed, because it's something they don't want to reveal yet
Tbh I kind of hated Witcher 2 gameplay after the first game😅
But they were ambitious with it, weren't afraid to experiment with new features, and continued to improve greatly with W3 and then Cyberpunk.
I do agree most AAA games with female protags do not look attractive these days, but Ciri is definitely not one of them lol.
LOL
Ciri is much better as a Vesemir like character guiding the custom MC .
You have your Opinions and we have ours. Since when does one opinion override others ? They are opinions - nothing more or nothing less
You are smart and inteligent person !
Must be nice to be ignorant. The main devs who made W3 no longer work at CDPR. The people who made the good games haven't lost their talent, but CDPR sure have.

"o sense to make a custom character that will be witcher anyway"
Of course it makes sesne as the cutom character has no elder blood lol.. also
if the witcher is an ancient one then it fits the tone as he either comes from the past or was traped in time via a curse or powerful magic so no new witchers made...and we would have a character creator which is a plus.

Yeah, you must be right, cdpr are now second only to Satan himself. Guilty till proven Innocent.
Dude those people are gone
