A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina has performed with this orchestra at least 3 times that I remember. Here of course, with a small ensemble; the full KORK orchestra at age 10 singing George Gershwin's "Summertime"; and then most recently she performed on December 11, 2023, with KORK at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony at age 17, singing "Unchained Melody" to an audience that included the 2 children of the Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Narges Mohammadi, who is imprisoned in Iran for supporting women's and human rights. This is the most beautiful rendition of "Unchained Melody" that I have ever heard.
Thanks for the choice of the song guys, I love this rendition. In Angelina's inspiration and research, Amy has a particular place, it's in fact a bond that often comes to mind spontaneously, also due to the jazz-soul connotation of both. Angelina has sung several of Amy's songs, often having to change the lyrics, due to the words that were used in the songs, as in this case, but her versions of the songs are always extremely respectful and emotional, thanks to the passion with which she fills them of grace, with her warm and deep voice. Angelina has been writing songs since she was 10 years 0ld - So far 12 have been released: Oslo, What is Life?, Shield, Million Miles, 7th Heaven, Love Don't Let Me Go, Now I'm The Fool, Fire and Rain, All My Fault, Good in Goodbyes, Diamond, and Our Time. Angelina has stated that she has written about 100 songs that have yet to be released. Her songs are taken from her Journal writings. When she was 10/11 she rewrote the Lyrics to Amy Winehouse's Back to Black and Rehab to make them more age appropriate at that time.

Nerves? Not AJ. For her very first public performance - 7 years old, on stage in front of a large audience, four judges right in front of her, nationally televised and after waiting all day backstage because she was the last performer, Angelina showed no nerves at all. She has said many times that she is never nervous when performing.
She just enters her own world of music and in that world there is no reason to be tense, there is just - music! If you watch many of her early performances to the very end, you can actually see her returning from that world, quietly becoming an unassuming little girl again.
Some have referred to this as a rehearsal and I will be happy to be corrected by someone who Knows but I found out this was no rehearsal but a scheduled performance with recording this performance being the purpose. KORK is the Norwegian National Orchestra known as the Norwegian Radio Orchestra & I don't believe I have heard this performed with this arrangement with these particular members in a live event. She did do a live performance of "Summertime" with the full Orchestra. Correct me if I'm wrong. I have recently learned that KORK actually contacted Angelina for the purpose of this recording plus several others. I'm guessing National Orchestra requested her because of her talent and because she was declared by Norway as a National Treasure shortly after winning Norway's Got Talent. I believe this booking was arranged for the purpose of this recording. It's on her Album as well as others for a project KORK was doing. Thus the scheduled time slot. I'm guessing the arrangement was made ahead of time and each party was working with this. Angelina was informed the night before I believe and had the night and next day before the performance to make the changes. I believe she worked on it that evening but didn't quite finish it. She visited an amusement park on the day of and before the performance. I've watched video of her in an interview at the park with a friend. It looks like they had the whole park to themselves. She finished the lyrics on the ride to the recording session. The remarkable thing is that the lyrics fit so well they had no need to change the arrangement. I believe this performance was the second take. Again I will be happy to be corrected on this if I am wrong but regardless this performance was typical Angelina Magic. This orchestra is the from the Norwegian broadcasting company NRK. They have performed with Angelina several times over the years. Just recently (December 2023) she performed with them at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. This session was booked to just record this with her, and they did it in just two takes. You are correct, she has been doing this since she was like 6 years old. There are videos of her at her school recording studio that were recorded before she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent when she was 7 years old. What you are watching is mostly the “second take” of Angelina singing this with Kirk. This video was not a rehearsal. Creating the video WAS the performance. Believe me, all the KORK musicians knew who Angelina was! She had already been designated a “National Treasure” in Norway. KORK is a highly regarded orchestra in Norway. This arrangement only used a few of them. So, Angelina removing her shoes is the signal that this IS a performance, not a rehearsal. Angelina has performed with this orchestra at least 3 times that I remember. Here of course, with a small ensemble; the full KORK orchestra at age 10 singing George Gershwin's "Summertime"; and then most recently she performed on December 11, 2023, with KORK at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony at age 17, singing "Unchained Melody" to an audience that included the 2 children of the Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Narges Mohammadi, who is imprisoned in Iran for supporting women's and human rights. This is the most beautiful rendition of "Unchained Melody" that I have ever heard.

In Angelina's inspiration and research, Amy has a particular place, it's in fact a bond that often comes to mind spontaneously, also due to the jazz-soul connotation of both. Angelina has sung several of Amy's songs, often having to change the lyrics, due to the words that were used in the songs, as in this case, but her versions of the songs are always extremely respectful and emotional, thanks to the passion with which she fills them of grace, with her warm and deep voice. You can't help but fall in love with her! in reality she finished writing the lyrics in the car, while they were going to the recording studio, because otherwise her mother wouldn't have let her sing.💛🧡❤

Angelina has been writing songs since she was 10 years 0ld - So far 12 have been released: Oslo, What is Life?, Shield, Million Miles, 7th Heaven, Love Don't Let Me Go, Now I'm The Fool, Fire and Rain, All My Fault, Good in Goodbyes, Diamond, and Our Time. Angelina has stated that she has written about 100 songs that have yet to be released. Her songs are taken from her Journal writings. When she was 10/11 she rewrote the Lyrics to Amy Winehouse's Back to Black and Rehab to make them more age appropriate at that time.

Nerves? Not AJ. For her very first public performance - 7 years old, on stage in front of a large audience, four judges right in front of her, nationally televised and after waiting all day backstage because she was the last performer, Angelina showed no nerves at all. She has said many times that she is never nervous when performing.
She just enters her own world of music and in that world there is no reason to be tense, there is just - music! If you watch many of her early performances to the very end, you can actually see her returning from that world, quietly becoming an unassuming little girl again.

Some have referred to this as a rehearsal and I will be happy to be corrected by someone who Knows but I found out this was no rehearsal but a scheduled performance with recording this performance being the purpose. KORK is the Norwegian National Orchestra known as the Norwegian Radio Orchestra & I don't believe I have heard this performed with this arrangement with these particular members in a live event. She did do a live performance of "Summertime" with the full Orchestra. Correct me if I'm wrong. I have recently learned that KORK actually contacted Angelina for the purpose of this recording plus several others. I'm guessing National Orchestra requested her because of her talent and because she was declared by Norway as a National Treasure shortly after winning Norway's Got Talent. I believe this booking was arranged for the purpose of this recording. It's on her Album as well as others for a project KORK was doing. Thus the scheduled time slot. I'm guessing the arrangement was made ahead of time and each party was working with this. Angelina was informed the night before I believe and had the night and next day before the performance to make the changes. I believe she worked on it that evening but didn't quite finish it. She visited an amusement park on the day of and before the performance. I've watched video of her in an interview at the park with a friend. It looks like they had the whole park to themselves. She finished the lyrics on the ride to the recording session. The remarkable thing is that the lyrics fit so well they had no need to change the arrangement. I believe this performance was the second take. Again I will be happy to be corrected on this if I am wrong but regardless this performance was typical Angelina Magic. During rehearsals she wears shoes. During performances and videos she goes barefoot so yes it would seem that this is not a rehearsal.

This orchestra is the from the Norwegian broadcasting company NRK. They have performed with Angelina several times over the years. Just recently (December 2023) she performed with them at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. This session was booked to just record this with her, and they did it in just two takes. You are correct, she has been doing this since she was like 6 years old. There are videos of her at her school recording studio that were recorded before she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent when she was 7 years old. What you are watching is mostly the “second take” of Angelina singing this with Kirk. There is a video of Angelina sitting in the studio listening to her first take, and you can see that she wasn’t happy with it. Her timing was a bit off. The second take, well, you heard it!
The back story is KORK had worked up the backing for Back to Black, and they wanted Angelina to sing it. The original lyrics are very “adult”, and Angelina’s mom didn’t think they were appropriate for a 10 year old girl to sing, so she told Angelina that if she wanted to sing it, she would have to change the lyrics! But, she only had 24 hours! AND, the morning of the performance, she was going to an amusement park with some of her friends to ride rollercoasters! Angelina screamed her head off on the coasters!
This video was not a rehearsal. Creating the video WAS the performance. Believe me, all the KORK musicians knew who Angelina was! She had already been designated a “National Treasure” in Norway. KORK is a highly regarded orchestra in Norway. This arrangement only used a few of them.
So, Angelina removing her shoes is the signal that this IS a performance, not a rehearsal.
You should also hear her recent performance with KORK at the Nobel Peace Prize Award Ceremony where she sang “Unchained Melody”. Barefoot, of course!

There is a video of Anglina in the car to the studio, with friends (they had been to a theme park together), working on the lyrics in the car.... She sang the song twice: there is another video of AJ listening to the first recording and making faces as she wasn't happy.... so they did it again. There are great videos of Angelina singing in the booth at the age of 6: look up "Anglina Jordan I Who Have Nothing" (not to be confused with I have nothing ) The musicians all knew very well who Angelina was and what she's capable of :)
