I have a pj fig i collected 38 years ago. Great base but too tall and spindly. Im in Melbourne. What time of year would you do a severe cut back? Also i want to air layer some 50mm branches before i prune. When would you air layer a pj fig and how long do you think it would take to root? Thanks
I defoliate in early summer and maybe 1 or 2 times more during summer the trees need time to grow new foliage.It might be different in Queensland I’m not sure ring up a bonsai club they could help you.
