Good to see The Empire return. I have some advice regarding the great cannons. As far as I understand, the shots from the great cannon will bounce when they hit the ground the first time and continue forward for a bit further. Depending on where they land and what is in their path, this can allow great cannons to rack up a lot of kills in a single volley. Their best use case is against large targets like monstrous infantry, cavalry units, and very large single entity units. Less ideal but still good use cases are Chosen which have high health per model. The great cannons have a lot of punch in their shots so they'll take a lot of fight out of the chosen before they can get close. You can snipe lords with great cannons, but that isn't ideal because most lords aren't that big of a target so they are easy to miss. Targeting infantry isn't a bad idea if there isn't anything better, but do try to prioritize armored infantry or high health per model infantry like chaos warriors, chorf warriors, and plague bearers with the great cannons. Anything else is likely just a waste unless you can hit a lot of models which is unlikely. You'll probably get somewhere between 50-75 kills on average per unit of great cannons per battle, but sometimes you may get lucky and surpass 100.
Who's ready from some lore?!! :D Elspeth is the one responsible for the destruction of Tamurkhan when he lays siege to Nuln. How, you may ask? She makes the equivalent of a Death Magic nuke talisman and then gives it to the champion of Nuln, Theodore Bruckner, without really telling him what exactly it was. Theodore and Tamurkhan duke it out in an epic duel atop their mounts, and Theodore manages to defeat Tamurkhan...or so he thought. Tamurkhan, who is actually a large demon-maggot, bursts forth from his destroyed Ogre body and latches on to poor Theodore, burrowing into his body through his mouth. However, the moment Tamurkhan latches on, Elspeth's little surprise activates, exploding into a ball of Death Magic that reduces Theodore, Tamurkhan, and anyone unlucky enough to be in the vicinity into purple ash. Thus fell Tamurkhan. A perfect example of how Elspeth will always get the job done, even if the methods leave something to be desired. :D
doesnt she also die in the death of Tamurkhan? along with them both according too lore nvm im mistaken :) apparently shes like Jesus an rises from the dead
@@rexboi2311 Tamurkhan : The Throne Of Chaos campaign book probably. I didn't read it but it is the source of all this lore. Probably one of the most liked campaign book for Warhammer. DLC's name is a tribute to this campaign book as well.
You know, the idea that a Skaven is giving ideas in the Gunnery School or any subject matter is not unheard of for they are constantly scheming. Who knows how many weapons were made or spells conjured because a mysterious figure in a grey cloak gave a simple idea.
they then steal it once it's more finished. Because much as Ikit is very capable himself, he also knows there are other "almost as good"(Read: just as good but he'd sooner die than admit it) inventors not too far he can "borrow" from. And there's nothing he would love more than to take their ideas and make them his to "prove his superiority".
Maybe it's a captured Skaven Engineer being kept in a cage. The humans are happy because the Skaven gives them ideas and helps somewhat and the Skaven is happy because he gets more than 1 meal a day and only beaten sometimes.
Tim the Engine Enchanter It should just fit in the limit and fits with your Tim the Engineer Enchanter idea. I'm really looking forward to seeing Elspeth's Carmine Dragon and some of those upgrades for the Gunnery units. The Nuln Ironsides with the Tier 3 explosive bullets in particular should be absolutely insane, especially if you get some Lord Buffs from a Master Engineer then put an Engineer Hero in their army. Also really hope you can get some Outriders with Grenade Launchers soon, I'll never get tired of watching them slam volleys into skeletons and zombies. For the Gardens of Morr you'd ideally want to have them in Allied or Owned Settlements in corners of the Empire. So one near Marienburg, one in Sylvania, one in the Norldland area and another to the North East on the border of Kislev. That just lets you instantly move to respond to threats in any region of the Empire if needed.
i love that you're reading and showing everything about the faction and the way it works, I'VE BEEN ELECTED TO LEAD NOT TO READ, can't wait to dive into that new DLC
I'm glad I got here early. Here are some unit name suggestions. I'm not good with names Purple Rain: Hellstorm rocket battery Sigmar's cigar: Great Cannon Stake n Shake: Spearmen or Halberd The Reborn: Imperial Knights Hole Punchers: Imperial Gunmen Off the top: Greatswords
The Amathyst Order is the order of the Colleges of Magic that studies Shyish, the Purple Wind of Magic, the Lore of Death. Whilst necromancy SEEMS similar, that black art is a corrupt combination of Shyish with Dark Magic Nagash picked up from the Druuchi eons past. In actuality, the Amathyst Order is probably the MOST dedicated foe of the undead in the Empire outside the Priesthood of Morr and the Knights of the Black Rose as well as various Sigmarite or unaffiliated Vampire Hunters, for Shyish is the study of natural entropy and spiritual movement, whilst necromancy is by definition a halting of entropy and stagnation. To wielders of Shyish, undeath is a perversion of everything they stand for.
I know Gotrex and Felix helped save Nuln from Thanquol and the Skaven. I don't think they met Elsvith but they did get the thanks from some woman that was in a position of power. So having them in your campaign would be thematic also the Skaven end game.

Elsbeth van Drake was the first campaign I successfully finished. Just yesterday. Had a blast with the Army and the diplomacy in the empire. Also she has a real cool story. ❤ This game is so addictive.
I’ve been subscribed to this channel for 11 years, started with the Empire Darthmod GB play through. My life would be very different without having that series - thank you 🙏🏼
After the CA videos, I'm very excited to see this new campaign, it's features and the changes to the Empire. SO, I was extremely pleased to see you've posted this video. o7
Perhaps Tim should be Tim the Enginechanter? On strategy with gunner heavy factions is to stagger your melee troops to allow your gunners in the back to fire through the gaps, essentially creating lanes of fire, another thought is to create slight wedges to force engagements of melee troops at an angle, to allow a direct firing lane into the flanks of the enemy by your gunners.
Skarsnik got moved a whole while ago, fortunately for him. He now starts near the Silver Road and has a tendency to absolutely curb-stomp Karaz-a-Karak, which is fun.
Von Draken was instrumental in defeating and slaying the Kurgan Champion of Nurgle Tamurkhan when the Maggot Lord launched a massive invasion of Wissenland with a great horde of the Warriors of Chaos and their Chaos Dwarf allies out of the Eastern Steppes that culminated in the savage Battle of Nuln in 2510 IC.
One of the special amethyst Helstorm batteries that fires mini Purple Suns can be named the Purple Melon Catapult. A steam tank named the Talabheim Ice Cream Truck would also be nice.
Been looking forward to this one. I am not normally that enthused about the Empire, who I am not a big fan of, but Elspeth looks interesting. Name for Hochland Long Rifles - The Sharpe Shooters
Great start with Elsbeth. Two Tips: Probably you should turn off guard mode and on skirmish mode for the outriders … and try a chevron setup with your gunners to have a clear sight or have a clear movement area in the front of them …
lore tidbit for elspeth... rumors abound about a steamy fling between her and felix! Gotrek was quoted as saying: "I don't want to know manling, I just don't want to know!"
regarding army composition: nothing specific BUT - for this faction i recommend looking up the strategy of 'reverse hill defense' Its a pike and shot era strat that lasted to the age of sail/renaissance. Its... extremely effective for empire gun heavy armies.
Name an Engineer General "Bradley Patton", after General Omar Bradley and General George s Patton. If he can manage to get a steam tank, it would fit better.
Great video as always. I am glad to see you return to Warhammer 3. Maybe try to avoid having your rockets fire over your units as often, i think you are killing more of your own troops than the ennemy is.
A thematic army comp for the late game: The Imperial Engineers, 2x hellstorm, 2x great cannon, 3x hellblaster volley guns, 1 steamtank, 2 imperial engineers, 4 gunnery units, 2 pistoleers, 2 outriders w/ grenade, Elsbeth, and the Ror spearmen that give bodyguard to artillery as the only melee infantry. Blast everything to bits before they reach you!
there is a building in cathey near gelt that gives all your wizards elemental mastery so even if you don't go pokemon mode somehow getting you hands on the settlement (i think it's called temple of the elemental winds or something like that) is definitely worth a shot
Unit name suggestions: The Wissenland Welcome Commitee - any kind of long range artillery such as Mortars, Hellstorm Batteries or Cannons The Hendorf Hardscopes - Hochland Longrifles Emanuelle's Pony Club - Any cavalry unit but preferably Outriders The Dotternbach Dakka Delegation - Either Nuln Ironsides, Outriders or Hellblaster Volley Guns The Handsome Headsman's Heavy Hand - Greatsword or Carroburg Greatswords
An abridged version. Did you know that Theodore Bruckner played a major role to killing Tamurkhan? When Nuln was under attack by the Maggot Lord and his horde of filth Theodore challenged the creature to a battle. Which Tamurkhan accepted. During the fight Theodore (with the aid of Reaper his Demigriff) managed to decapitate the Maggot Lord. The creature realized his ogre body was not up to snuff anymore. The Maggot leaps at Theodore and buries itself into him. Thinking himself the victor and it looked like Theodore was another victim, but that isn't the case. What the Maggot Lord didn't know was that his enemy was wearing an enchanted amulet with a very powerful explosive enchantment in it. The amulet then explodes obliterating the wearer's body and killing the Maggot Lord for good.
Elspsth von Draken has been a protector of the Empire for three generations, with endless local legends told by children in Nuln of the Graveyard Rose to scare each other, but despite her terrifying aspect and gloomy demeanor she has always been a very ardent defender of the Empire. Highly independent (an oddity for Imperial Mages, especially for a full majestrix), her terrifying reputation often attracts Witch Hunters with more zeal than common sense, who deem the tales about her to paint her as a threat. Unfortunately for them, in addition to being quite possibly the most powerful and battle-tested practitioner of Shyish the Empire has, she is also a rarity for an Imperial Mage in that she also cultivates powerful political connections; Elector Countess Emmanuelle von Liebwietz herself gets on well with her since her defense of Nuln from the Chaos Lord Tamurkhan, and since the Countess herself is no warrior she is perfectly happy to let Elspeth take the reigns and protect her beloved city when she asks, and is equally happy to extend her political influence to drive away hapless Witch Hunters who bite off more then they can chew.
My unit name suggestion is Children of the Blade for any swords unit, preferably a higher quality unit so that they are less likely to be obliterated in battle : D
For your Wizard of Metal the name I like to give him: Michał Sędziwój he was one of the alchemist in Poland research of his , help to find about oxygen. So it will be cool if you will name Hero in this Campaign
Unit name suggestions: Nuln ironsides: Brotherhood of gunpowder Knights of the black rose: Deliverers of death hellstorm rocket battery: eclipsing storm
(Coming in super late on this series, but it's been a long time since I wrote stories to go with a campaign, and since Third Age got nuked by the Algorithm for some reason I might as well have some fun here. I am not an expert on Warhammer lore for anyone reading, and I'm not spending hours on end each post delving into a lexicon to make sure i get things right I'll simply do what i can with what I have readily available) For the longest of times the mysterious lady, known as Elspeth Von Draken, has spent most her time and days toiling away in her mysterious tower. Her closeness to the very element of death has caused many, including even fellow Brothers and Sisters of Morr, take little more than nervous glaces her way. For often it was thought by many, including no ind of Inquisitors, that The Dark Lady was courting more than just the school of Death, but the heretical powers seen to the east in the lands of Sylvania. And yet, whenever Nuln faced dark and horrific powers, would she appear form her tower and bring the perpetrators swiftly to Morr's embrace. Now we stand at what seems to be The End of Days. So terrible the world's state, and so fractured the Empire, that The Dark Lady herself has come out of her town and requested the use of Nuln's Militia forces from Countess Liebwitz in order to deal with a rising undeath plague that had begun infesting the lands of the Empire. Swiftly Lady Von Draken had brought what was believed to have been an small army of the undead, meant to bring the final blow to Nuln, back to their graves. Soon Dotternbach was back in the hands of the living, the fledgling vampire holding it's garrison was turned into dust. The success in defending the Empire caught the eye of two factions. First, Emperor Karl Fraz gave blessing that the Amethyst Magistrix was permitted to continue to lead the men in a campaign to take back Imperial land. The second faction to truly take note was that of the Cult of Morr of which I myself am one such soul dedicated to holy Morr's cause of balance though death, and the salvation of souls from Undeath, Chaos, and Morr knows whatever other horrors await beyond our borders. The Cult of Morr was fast to declare a holy crusade against the horrors besieging the Empire form all sides. These two events have seen the forces of Lady Von Draken expand out, from a small militia to a full fighting force of fully trained soldiers and large amounts of men armed with rifles and even Imperial Artillery. Soon we shall match on Wissenburg and finally secure the state driving out the undead that have festered and corrupted so much of the land. -Aleksander Bestatter, Chronicler Cleric of Morr

You don't need your units in a wide line, that makes them worse at holding in melee and wastes time they would be shooting for your gunner units. A 4-man deep line fires as well as a 2-man deep line but the 4-man line will be formed up faster. Same goes for Infantry units. You should also try using the Chevron formation, form your Infantry and Gunners up *Infantry - Gunner - Infantry - Gunner - repeat* then when battles start retreat just your gunners, the enemy infantry when charging will blob up around your infantry and be able to be fired upon MUCH more efficiently.
Name suggestion for artillery units: - Tim's Big Boom Boys - Bombardiers of Nuln Name suggestion for cavalry units: - Skull crushers of Nuln - Death heads
Funny how in the video she says she wants to drive back the forces of evil while she herself looks pretty evil. I guess you gotta fight fire with fire. And why would you think a mount would make any character more tanky? The only thing it does is take her out of reach when she flies. Usually the only thing mounts do to characters is severely reduce their melee defence and weapon damage/strength while buffing speed and charge bonus (and maybe hp pool a bit). Skellies so brave, continue fighting even after having lost their head. Maybe try to ambush in reinforcement range of your settlement so that if the ambush gets foiled, you can still try to prevent the loss of the settlement? Enemy spears and lionheart cav magically attract one another.
Army names Helblaster Volley Gun = The big DAKKA (Orc's stole it from the Empire. Now they steal it back.) Hand Gunners = Nuln's Rifleman Renowned Hand Gunners = Nuln's Marksmen Free company militia = Thy Duelist squad
Unit Name Suggestion for the master engineer lord: Sparky the Powder Mage I go to College at ASU and something that is always repeated is that we are #1 in Innovation (however you measure that) I feel it goes great with the Master Engineer line "Expert in Innovation"

Surely it's Tim the Tool-Man Taylor?

(Coming in super late on this series, but it's been a long time since I wrote stories to go with a campaign, and since Third Age got nuked by the Algorithm for some reason I might as well have some fun here. I am not an expert on Warhammer lore for anyone reading, and I'm not spending hours on end each post delving into a lexicon to make sure i get things right I'll simply do what i can with what I have readily available)
For the longest of times the mysterious lady, known as Elspeth Von Draken, has spent most her time and days toiling away in her mysterious tower.
Yessssss....i love it
If every faction was similar to this with like the gunnery school or slaves workshop, the game would be amazing.

Have to name a unit "seal TIM six"
Hey Lionheart big fan Love the videos I was hoping you could maybe do a Noel Ironside unit as the iron maidens gunners
Tim the Enginseer
Gunnery unit of some kind: Rat Blasters
Tears Of The Empire - fire rain rockets
Name for Helstorm Rocket Battery: The Sky is Falling
Name suggestion for artillery units:
- Tim's Big Boom Boys
- Bombardiers of Nuln
Name suggestion for cavalry units:
- Skull crushers of Nuln
- Death heads
My only thought for the dragon is some play on the game "where in the world is, En-Carmine San Diego"
For a themed army, I plan to build an engineer Lord and hero with just a good mix of steam tanks and Calvary I will have my panzer division lol
Army names
Helblaster Volley Gun = The big DAKKA (Orc's stole it from the Empire. Now they steal it back.)
Hand Gunners = Nuln's Rifleman
Renowned Hand Gunners = Nuln's Marksmen
Free company militia = Thy Duelist squad
Unit Name Suggestion for the master engineer lord: Sparky the Powder Mage
I go to College at ASU and something that is always repeated is that we are #1 in Innovation (however you measure that) I feel it goes great with the Master Engineer line "Expert in Innovation"
Withering Rose Knights to- The Morr Guard.
Hellstorm Rockets name... 'For Fawkes Sake!'
