It's not really too bad. I just don't use it much and the infrared laser head is my new so there isn't as much information available about using it as the typical blue light lasers.
Hi Mick, every time I watch your laser videos I'm always undecided: maybe I need some advice from you! I would love to be able to engrave my logo on the pieces I build, 90% are in steel! I've seen powerful and portable small lasers (Laserpecker 2, for example, but it costs over 1000 dollars...) and other lasers which, however, do not guarantee being able to engrave on steel, so I was also thinking of a small cnc that uses milling cutters to engrave, also because they are a few tenths of a millimetre, what would you recommend? A laser like yours or a small cnc with a rotating spindle? Thanks in advance for your reply, Alberto
Hi Alberto, I really need to work with both the laser and cnc engravers more before I would feel comfortable giving advice. Supposedly the xTool with the infrared head is great on steel, I need to try it again now that I've learned more. However, it's quite expensive. I have over $2000 invested in it. I also have a cnc engraver, which I have only used enough to crash it once and break the z-axis! I have replacement parts but I haven't fixed it yet. I guess I should get on that soon. The cnc engraver was around $300 if I remember correctly. Mick
@@MicksWorkshop Yes, i was watching now some videos with the Xtool, 2000 $ dollars for the moment It Is too much: so i will watch to the cnc engraver like you said! Hope soon to engrave my logo on some stuff!! Thanks always Mick!!😀
Cool lazer engraving Mick, and thanks for the susbscribe to the channel!
Thanks. I thought I had subscribed before but apparently I didn't.
Great demonstration/review
Thanks Chuck

If you want to see some samples email me and let's see if I can help.

The logo looks great but it sounds like a big learning curve to get the best from this machine

Always good to to some experimenting. This one came out nice.
Thanks Rusti!
Pretty cool.
