Thanks Dave - useful. For anyone in the UK / other areas of Europe - The confirmation with SNS only happens if you're using Ireland EU-west-1 AWS/SES/SNS. If you set thing up with west-2 then it just doesn't work. ALSO if you abandoned configing Mautic to use Amazon SES SMTP, and got SES working as "Other SMTP" then that also won't work - SES has to configured on west-1 too.

Nice video Dave. I would like to point out that if Mautic is installed on shared hosting, you might not be able to use SES SMTP. So, probably best to check with your host to see if outbound SMTP is permitted. In mautic 3.1 or higher the SES API option is available and works well if SMTP isn't permitted.
Thanks Halbertech, this video was made before the API option was released. It still s houldn't be an issue using SMTP because it is not sending on your server. I wouldn't recommend Mautic on a shared host though!
@@dave-swift I hear you on shared hosting, but I am confident to perform this with my host that manages it's shared hosting better than most. My host does not allow SMTP with SES on my account.
