After reading all your amazing comments and recommendations, I think I will need to take a trip to Netherlands and try all of these again
When you are in Holland take a frikandel speciaal really it taste really good
I'm from Netherland ,go Netherland
When you are in my country The Netherlands you should try a Kroket and a Mac Kroket, poffertjes are amazing as well and wentelteefjes ( can't say the english word for Wentelteefjes cause RUclips doesn't want me to say that ).🤣
Poffertjes with butter, powdered sugar, warm white chocolate, strawberry sauce and maybe some vanilla ice cream is so amazing. 🥰😍🥰
Could you give us a sign when your in the Netherlands well me than and a recommended place to go is utrecht it is like full of people but soo nice and yeah I recommend that place
its so weird seeing people get so hyped over these foods as a dutch person

yess and i love the way you opened that package with the lid to the inside cause it is supposed to go to the oitside. also a little tip for another time
I don't eat hagelslag I am dutch 🙈🥴
Yeah, thats true.
Yeh botter on speculaas and hagelslag on top
With stroopwafels always get the bigger ones. In the morning rest them over your tea or coffee so they kind of steam and heat up inside, so the caramel melts
I put it in the microwave for 5 seconds
You eat stoopwafels in the morning?😂

@@nadiaboumaiza Hier ook! Echt gevaarlijk om die in huis te halen, haha!
The ones you didn't like: it's licorice. It is something that is familiar to us Dutchies because we grow up with it. But not everybody likes it though🙂 The stroopwafels, you should try fresh ones. Every market has a stall where they make fresh ones and these are bigger and still warm because the cookie is freshly made. Delicious 😄
“Is this a doggy treat?” Lmaoooo that whole part was so funny. I love licorice but I’m from the Netherlands like many others here :p. Loved this video xx
When she said Red Band i'm singing in my head: als je voor pret bent 😂
Ja echt zo hahaha
Hhaha jaa
Joppie saus is a sauce in NL commonly used for fries. It has Main ingredients are mayo, onion, and curry powder.
Actually its common use is for fish the fries thing is only because it became populaire to do so try it with a white fish its pretty good or kibbeling or something
I see, would definitely try it. I never tried it before. I always have the sauce with bieslook for the kibbeling.
@@wesleydamen2018 That's false, the sauce was made by a snackbar owner in Glanerbrug for their fries. Although it could be nice with fish, never tried it.
@@xenzgoul8319 joppie saus as a brand yes but the sauce exists way longer then what you probably think i have forgotten the name but its very similaire its just a litlle bit less viscous
Joppie saus is also amazing on chicken nuggets
As a Dutch person this is so much fun to watch! Love this video, I’m for sure checking more of your videos out!!
If you are ever in the Netherlands: Go to Gouda (the city where they originated) and try a freshly baked Stroopwafel, nothing beats a freshly baked one! And usually you can also buy Stroopwafel crumbs, that can be great too!
Yeah .. when I was a teen, we got those crumbs for 25 cents a bag and even sometimes for free at the end of the markethours🥰
Or if you are visiting Amsterdam, there are also some stores with stroopwafels. Freshly baked!
Amsterdam too
Jaaa Lekker
There is a stroopwafel shop now ;)

How can you not like Licorice...
As a Dutch person I love it!
Im dutch and i domt like it
‘Is this a doggy treat?’ 💀 ITS MY FAVORITE CANDY
This is one of those things that i dont usually buy,but when i do i can't stop eating it tbh XD SO GOODDD!
Kaas is lekker
Black liquorice, most foreigners hate it, but dutchies are trained from a young age, we can eat it by the bags :D
Only the candy sticks taste nice
Hi i'm Dutch! And i personaly love everything you tried. And the black stuff you tried is liquorish! And idk why but Dutch people have like amagic taste bud that makes us really like it because we have all kinds of it. The "auto drop" is also liquorish but it does come in different flavours. I got really excited when you tried the Katja pigs. I find them so good! She really send you an awesome collection!
the 'ca. 37 stuks' on the stroopwafel packaging doesn't stand for the calories per cookie but the amount of stroopwafels so it contains around 37 stroopwafels :)
This is sooo fun to watch as a dutchy, i wish i had someone to send me snacks from the US and i swap other snacks from Holland to them, this seems so fun! And i have some reaaaaaly good dutch snacks too🥺
Honestly I would do that with u! I live in the USA in Washington state and we have some rlly good snacks!!
@@crypticshadows omg that sounds so good!! but idk how to ship a parcel to usa from here😭
Yep, the black part of the "gummibears" is black liquorice ( in dutch : drop) ❤
Im Dutch and its very nice to see you tasting our snacks!
You should put a big stroopwafel a few seconds in the microwave (20 seconds orso) and then eat it. You will LOVE it even more when it's warm 🥰
EXACTLY
20 sec. is way too long, aspecially for those small ones! 😁✌🏼
Speculaas is not only made with cinnamon…it’s a mixed spiced cookie
The pigs (Katja) you tried at 13:13 actually have 3 different flavors! Different pigs have different colors (look at the ears). The flavors are strawberry, cherry and raspberry :) Even most Dutchies don’t know this!
Ah inderdaad! Ik wist dat niet. Nu wel.. Tnx 😄

I am not from Netherlands but I moved here! Just to let you know keep eating those red bands, it will grow on you so hard!! I didnt liked them first but now I have major obsession and cant stop eating them.
Hhahaha I think we all have an obsession with them, for sure the dutchies 🤣
@@Mandy_-st4uk I can relate to that very well! 😁😁
It's always interesting to me how nobody from outside the Netherlands (and possibly other countries that have it) likes licorice. I love it, except for licorice with a lot of salmiak in it, those can go away. You had the good ones in my opinion haha, although I like me some honey licorice.

Tony Chocolonely is (used to be) slave free chocolate. The bar is devided in unequal chunks to represent (And remind you of) the unequality in the world.
Edit: They were originally slave free, but, as you can see in the comments below, they are not slave free anymore. Or at least they can't claim to be 100% slave free. Pitty. Seems like money corrupted Tony as well...
Never knew that! Thanks makes me less annoyed about that haha 😂
@@carlijnvandervegt4332 ja is zo kan je zien in de papier van de chocola 😂
Ja wist dat het “slaafvrij” chocolade was maar nooit het verhaal achter de chocola, nooit de wrapper gelezen
Well actually they aren't allowed to call it slave free anymore because the company (Tony) started working with this other company and that company can't proof that they don't have "child slaves" working for them
@@hibakaram3130 nooit gelezen,
HAHAHA I CANT mini STROEPwafels🤣🤣🤣 the first time it was bad but the second was soo good
Licorice gummies are amazing!!! Everyone loves those in the Netherlands
Who is also Dutch here?! 🇳🇱
The stroopwafels are a normely A little bigger and what we do is when we have coffie or tee, we place the stroopwafel om top of the cup to warm the stroopwafel a bit. It tasts even beter then
WOW! im gonna order some more!
Yes please heat them over a cup of tea! The stroopwafels soften up a bit and taste even more delicious 😍
Yes you need to try that :)
I kind of appreciate that for once there's a woman eating a big bite out of the stuff given instead of a tiny, teeny-weeny microbite :) The "Katja"-gummies with "veggie" means it's suitable for vegans/vegitarians, as agar-agar is used to fabricate the gummy instead of gelatine from pigs. Also, a LOT and I mean nearly everything uses natural flavouring, there's little artificial flavouring going on in our candy/cookies and the likes :)
I only watch these videos for the "dropjes". The dutch girl even sent really mild dual colored "dropjes", but it didn't disappoint.
Ik hoopte op dubbel zoute drop though
@@ieza8993 Jaaaaaaaa!

I am Dutch and lived in Belgium. Belgians do have different food habbits like eating warm food twice a day and the meals are much more luxury and tasty in Belgium. Also Belgian children can get a warm lunch at school and that is not done in the Netherlands.
@@lienbijs1205 yes, the Dutch mostly to consider warm food as lunch weird (apart from soup and tosti's). I don't like it that much as well. I sometimes eat warm food as lunch, but I've got a desk job and they used to eat warm food because there were much more physical labor jobs.
@@therealcleany I am Dutch and love to eat warm food for lunch. With a good warm lunch I don't feel hungry at the end of the afternoon. I have a thermos food jar for warm food, it is great.

The black part of the candy was black lickris aka drop
If you really like the stroopwafels so much, it is becoming more and more common in America. Americans definitely have discovered it. I don't know in what area of America you live, but they sell it at Trader Joe's. Also ofcourse in any international supermarket. And I even had it during a flight from United. I'm sure you will be able to find somewhere near you as well!
Coming from Holland myself, I thought it was funny to see you try these foods.
The one you really didn't like is licorice which is a real acquired taste, but most Duchies love it (including me)
The hagelslag you sprinkled way too thin, you shouldn't be able to see the bread anymore hehe, that is how thick we sprinkle it.

you can read the ingredient labels... next to dutch there usually is always an english part , sometimes french and german as well. the stroopwafels are even better after 3-5seconds in the microwave.

joppie sauce is popular in Netherlands with fries; it's a mix of curry, mayonaise, mustard onions and some "secret" other spices or chemicals.
And it seems you tried for first time licorice.. be happy they where in gummi form, the real "drop" is hard candy. It's an aquired taste to say the least.
