I think what stuck with me the most from Over the Garden Wall is just how perfectly balanced the silliness is with the darker parts. Even just this song has that sort of childlike wonder to it, while still having a really dark undertone, and there's something really beautiful about that.

@@jules5187 interpretation is exclusive to performance and has to do with how you play the notes. Changing the notes is not interpretation, but rearrangement. Their arrangement is worse than the original though. The original has an interesting bass-line and the harmony utilizes good voice leading. This arrangement just has the bass be the tonic note of whatever tonality we’re in and the harmony is just cluster chords. It sounds lazy and makes it clear to me that they aren’t a professional musician. Also, I don’t have to like their performance and I have every right to criticize it. It’s a cool thing called opinion, you should try it sometime.
