Dezign wants to be the igl but doesn't talk enough in clutch situations, then makes one call that people don't instantly react to and freaks out. Honestly, one of the most infuriating type of person to play with, someone who is so confident that they are doing everything that they are clueless to all their deficiencies.

that's what Hal does always also, he makes a call right as he is rushing forward and gets 1vs3'ed instantly like a dumbass, then gets angry his teammates didn't react to his call in 2 milliseconds.

I'mma be honest, the IGL dude might have amazing gamesense, but as an IGL... It's ok to give constructive criticism and even be strict with your team, that's part of your job. But the IGL is the person who's supposed to make the calls and bring the team together, this dude tho is just pure gamer-rage. It's like 95% screaming pure toxicity and like 5% actual criticism... Dude legit has about the same amount of useful feedback as a 2015 Xbox COD lobby.
You can get a bit heated, you can pop off, but you need to be able to compose yourself, reset and actually explain what you need from your team and how you, plural, are gonna get back on track. Instead of just having a fucking screaming match against your own teammates.

Dezign pisses me off so bad man, like there are ways to go about communicating with your team without screaming at them and freaking out on people... Like I get that there is a level of expected game play when it comes to professional games, but anger and fear just builds resentment dude, if you want them to play consistent and calm, don't go making them scared in the first round... make the callouts, if shit goes awry, adapt, don't explode.

Dude, they CHOSE this; Dezign had a hot tempered reputation in all his previous teams and they still chose him to be IGL. That personality seems to do well in that environment/position.

I feel they all just aren't connecting with each other. With Dezign and Enemy always going at each other its not helping them at all. I understand placements and lots of money is on the line so I understand where the anger and frustration are coming from, but they need to work more has a team comm wise. It's cringe worthy and honestly embarrassing hearing them argue all the time. If they want to give feedback or advice they shouldn't be screaming at each other, that's not how it works. I feel Timmy is pretty good with it, he admits when he is wrong, and doesn;t start yelling at his teammates when they lose. Yelling at your teammate won't want them to fix the issues it will just make them upset and more angry so it will then reflect onto the teams performance. I hope to see them back at the top as the champs again but the comms and anger need to be fixed first I feel if they are ever gonna get back there again. Much love though, Im rooting for DSG!

love to see how much Dezignful cares and is invested in the game. everyone who's yapping about toxicity have never done anything highly competitive, shit is stressful and frustrating and emotional. glad you didn't cut any of it out and It shows a tight group when Dezignful is able to express that freely. especially since this is their second team together after DOJO. exciting stuff. He has gotten a lot better about raging but it’s kind of “bad” enough for most people to notice how it’s still a little more excessive. Yes we can be passionate and may be in the heat of the moment but sometimes we gotta just bite the tongue and hold the anger and calmly explain why and how to do things better
it would be understandable if he cursed and yelled but he only accused enemy even when it was 100% his fault, for example the game where he was walled off by catalyst and they lost it was only his fault and he never aknowledged that, he was just toxic for no reason, it was not competetive or stressful he was just being a dick to enemy, honestly if i was Enemy i would have to laugh to his face because of how nonsensical his yapping was

The main thing people miss is their observer bias in the situation. first of all this is their job. and their career is highly competitive. and then imagine you in your highly competitive job and it comes to the most stressful part of the whole job (for them its competition) they are then broadcast to 10''s of thousands of people. I'm sure that we all could bite our tongue and be more kind, but I'll admit that if you meet me when I have an important deadline coming up I'm much less kind and of course it's something I can work on! but instead of everyone talking about how toxic someone is when they are in the most stressful aspect of their job, we can instead talk about how amazing and beautiful it is that they put their whole heart into the game because of how passionate they are. maybe some of these comments should be more considerate and bite their tongue?

@@jamesconway6884IMO there’s a correlation to tolerance when it comes to toxicity in gaming. Teams will deal with you, if you can prove that your leadership can bring success. Fans will support you, if you find a way to win when it matters most. Hal and Zero both have had episodes like dezign, but they also have incredible success. Most teams run off two things; skill and vibe. So, when everyone is really skilled the vibe of the team is even more important. I’m seeing teams with cooler heads win more and more this season. When they’re backed into a corner and get eliminated early, they look at their own faults and own up to them before looking for others. You’re right that competition will bring this outta you, but he needs to find a better way. As it stands, he doesn’t have the accolades to keep behaving like this. I hope they turn it around because they are talented, but maybe a roster change is needed.

Dezign is the igl tho and there aren’t really any solid replacements out there
@@foohenry i know it seems stupid, but from my experience in the professional scene in other games, IGLing can be done by anyone. some people have an aptitude for it, but its not actually that hard to learn to do.
@@DragonRider6566 i don’t really know much about igling in other games, but at least in Apex the biggest gap between teams is honestly the igl. It’s really hard to be a good igl in Apex
@@foohenry im not a pro apex player by any means, but i have played professional in other brs, and from what i could see and hear, both of the other two could do a fine job igl'ing. a good igl is nessecary, but not as nessecary as the chemistry between the people on the team. i tend to igl, but i cant igl if people dont want to listen to me

My problem here is that I love Disguised and I truly respect Toast flr everything he has done here. But Design destroys alot for me with that rage. I want to keep watching for Toast and Timmy but if Design doesn't get kinder I don't know if I can keep doing that. And it makes me sad.

Angry comms are just to make the person who thinks they’re right feel better by putting the blame on the person they think was incorrect. It helps one person’s mental and hurts the other’s

My only experience in esports is IGLing a Tier 2 team and Coaching two Tier 1 teams in PUBG Mobile but holy shit these comms and rages are wild. To think this is a professional team with decent money backing them and this guy's screaming out into the world is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention, all these constant calls from everyone can be mostly negative when it comes to overall communication. I don't know much about the Apex Legends esports scene but this video was shocking to say the least.
There are quite a few IGLs in Apex that rage a lot, but Dezign is definitely on the far end of the spectrum. He’s been getting a lot better though (he used to be MUCH worse).

So you really need to develop your listening skills and how fast you react to things, and comm it. I'm not saying that DSG comms are GREAT, it's not. Like you said, with an IGL like that it's useless. BUT apex legends comms is really chaotic to people's ears that's why like I said you just can't compare it to PUBG.
@@Eulsephere I don't know if the PUBG PC scene works the same but you should try giving a watch to one or two games of the PUBG Mobile esports scene. I would recommended watching a few of the matches of the PMGC or the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2023 Finals. I mean, the in-game mechanics are faster in Apex but in terms of how much action a team has to face to win a game or get decent points from the match is more I think in a pubg match. Also, they play in teams of 4. So, there's more noise.
Replace that IGL, hes a controller brain player. He causes alot fo the issues they have with his decisions. can't have controller first players making calls
