    It was a great film & it was based on 2 years of his life only

    The movie was based on only a 2 year period of Bob’s life. (1976-78) It was only 1hr and 45mins. You will not get Bob’s full story with this film, which was not what they intended. If you don’t like it go watch the documentaries or read the books. The movie was a box office hit and I’m sure that’s all that matters. I liked the movie for what it was.

    One love movie? Take it as what it's... a movie for Rita Marley by herself and her kids. Hope we get in the future a Bob Marley movie about Robert Nesta Marley, the rebel, the mystic, the revolutionary, the leader, the business man and his childhood

      elaborate?

    • @NhatMaisq1wg
      @NhatMaisq1wg 22 дня назад

      Exactly. And in the movie, i can get over the far-fetched scenes when they try to make Rita look more central than she actually was in Bob’s romantic life by actually distorting parts of events, but a thing that i cannot grapple with and i find utterly unacceptable, is the fact that they portrayed Rita as the one who introduced Bob to Rastafari, when it was the literal other way around. He was the one to find Rasta, it was his spiritual journey and the root of everything he did and created, he dedicated his short but whole life he had to Rasta and to see her taking credit for something as fundamental and spiritual as that is the nail on the coffin for me. Imho, they could’ve shown him w a thousand mistresses or whatever y’all like to call ‘em, and it wouldn’t have been as disrespectful as this is. I wholeheartedly agree - Bob legacy is being actively manipulated and ruined in insidious ways.

    • @NhatMaisq1wg
      @NhatMaisq1wg 22 дня назад

      @@antoniagomes6371 He did not even live with the kids. Cedella even calls him “Bob” several times instead of “daddy”, and this is what she said about him in So much things to say book : “We had a lot of good people around us. Our auntie was there, and she kind of take up the reins and bring us up certain way. Parents being away, they used to write and so on. We didn’t realize they were away until they came back and we didn’t have to go to school today because Bob and Mommy coming home. The lesson I learned from Bob was not to go anywhere! We could not go anywhere. It was like: “Don’t go anywhere. You don’t really need too many friends.” “
      So if they don’t have the full story, let the people who have lived with him and have known him closely and properly paint the picture, don’t manipulate it for a certain narrative.

    Some of commentary and these comments are making me laugh. The movie was made by Bob’s children. They decided what was depicted. They were on set every day. It was purely up to them. I enjoyed the movie for what it was.

    Big people... still so immature. The man family presented his life from their perspective. If other people want something different then present your own view of the man... but don't cry down what his family chose to do. Good... do your own documentary... but recognise that someone else will wish you had done things differently... can we begin respecting the rights of others who choose to be different?

    i can get over the far-fetched scenes when they try to make Rita look more central than she actually was in Bob’s romantic life by actually distorting parts of events - it’s immature and laughable, but that’s about it, but the thing that i cannot grapple with and i find utterly unacceptable, is the fact that they literally portrayed Rita as the one who introduced Bob to Rastafari, when it was the absolute other way around. Bob was the one to find Rasta, it was his spiritual journey and the very root of everything he stood for, everything he created arose from the heart of it. He dedicated his short but whole life he had to Rasta and to see her taking credit for something as fundamental and intimately spiritual as that is the nail on the coffin for me. Imho, they could’ve shown him w a thousand mistresses or whatever y’all like to call ‘em, and it wouldn’t have been as profoundly disrespectful and boundary crossing as this is. It’s dishonorable. Bob’s legacy is being actively distorted in insidious way to fit a certain narrative.
    Diane Jobson does an amazing job for having the guts to speak out the truth, being authentic and actually loyal to Bob, recognizing him both as a friend and as the greatness of what he represented and will always represent. This was anything but a just portrayal, it was a joke.

    Kingsley Ben-Adir didn't do such a good job. It was clear from the strange stage behavior, the weird batwa, and the lack of singing that he didn't study Bob Marley very well. Look at how Val Kilmer studied Jim Morrison for the Doors movie. Bob Marley deserves at least as much of an effort. Try again, and this time without the AI crap.
