Yeah, like you said it isn't bashing Norm, it's just telling it like it is. It's kind of beautiful to be honest. No one likes a perfect person anyway.

Kevin keeping it real. And nothing he said is a secret or a surprise. Anyone getting bent out of shape or calling him jealous simply hasn't been listening or paying attention.
Norm took risks no one else would, in comedy and in Las Vegas, because that was who he was, not because he was being calculated or ironic about it.

I love Norm, Kevin, Colin, Dennis Miller. The weekend update guys from that era are legends
Don't forget the original Weekend Update anchor Chevy Chase! And Jane Curtin from 3rd Rock from the Sun after him. Charles Rocket was amazing as well. In fact, Rocket was kicked off SNL just like Norm was. Though he was kicked for dropping an F bomb. I feel like there was an unbroken chain of great anchors all the way up until Jimmy Fallon. That's when the weekend update ended for me.

I just noticed that the first .05 seconds of everyone's Norm imitation sounds exactly like the first .05 seconds of everyone's Bob Dylan imitation.

Going back & rewatching Norm, but now with the added context of knowing he was terminally ill, knew it, fought it, & kept it hidden, his comments have this new deeply genuine & profound insight. The greatest comedians, Norm being one, of modern day are truly our modern versions of life's greatest philosophers.

Norm didn’t have any kind of “poor judgment”, he absolutely enjoyed every second of pushing boundaries and sitting in that uncomfortable space.
I saw an interview where they described him as a cross between a mischievous child and a crotchety old man.
Ok you know Norm better than Nealon who's close friends with him, loves him. Nealon is best for his observations and he doesn't insult/denigrate anyone so I think he's right. And Nealon has said this before too.
@Stugna Bulah How much has Nealon hung out with Norm in the last 25 years? Probably very little. What positive stories has this alleged friend told?
@@fartkerson He pretended to be a friend and now suddenly after Norm's death he only had negative things to say. My opinion of Nealon has completely changed.

Not poor judgement, just pushing the envelope like any good “fool” in the Kings court. Making people feel uncomfortable produces critical thought. Well done.

@@yourgameisstupid Who's "deifying" him? His gambling was well known when he was alive. He spoke openly about it. Norm rarely hung out with people he conidered his good friends. Nealon hung out with him a few times in 95' and now suddenly he was best friends with Norm. This hack hasn't said one good thing about Norm since his death. We can all read between the lines.

When you watch Norm push a joke to the realm of being offensive or anti-humor you think it's genius; but like Kevin said it could have just been poor judgement. It kind of makes me like Norm even more.

As much as I liked Norm, Kevin Nealon fit that role perfectly. I think it’s because he played it like he was a serious anchor. It’s just like in the Chippendale’s skit when he’s like, “I wish I could just flip a coin and be done with it, but we can’t…we’re Chippendales.” His sincerity makes it all the more ridiculous. That’s how he played the news anchor.
@@brianboyle5934 Norm was the best talk show guest of all time. Kevin (even moreso than Chevy and Dennis) was pretending to be an anchor, which made it extremely ironic.
He played a good role, but wasn’t actually particularly funny, so it has to go to Norm because, it’s supposed to be a comedy
