I wanna see Darnell Washington run a qb sneak. Notre Dame ran a TE sneak a lot in 2022 and it worked almost every time. No idea if it translates well to the NFL but he's gotta be able to generate more push than russell wilson
Thats an interesting idea. I just looked it up out of curiousity.... Russ was 18-20 on sneaks last year. Fields was 8-10. Pretty solid numbers. Of course, Hurts was by far the leader in the clubhouse on those.
I disagree with the narrative that Jones struggled in pass protection. He had some off snaps, but in general he was Really good. Also, playing out of position, he WAS STILL WAY BETTER THAN DAN MOORE. Even as a rookie. This is the same thinking that started Green at center for an entire season and , well let's face it, started moore for three years when it was obvious he didn't have the pedigree and was not improving.
Ehh, it was pretty rough in pass pro but that was really to be expected even before switching sides. But that’s really why I wanted to focus on one position this summer which hasn’t really happened so far.
There's no way they go into week 1 with either of Calvin Austin, Roman Wilson, or Van Jefferson as their #2 reciever, right? I feel that borders into negligence as a front office & staff? I am soo glad someone else sees how bizarre/nonsensical their handling of the o-line is right now. All to be fair to Dan Moore & Herbig? (Moore was the worst pass blocking T in the NFL last year & where was Herbig when Cole was a bottom 3 C last year? I've never seen an OL have a worse year and get more than 10 starts than Cole last year). I am really not a fan of Pat Meier or his hyperaggressive technical style. The OL was horrific the first 4-6 weeks the last 2 years before strong finshes. As you see, the last 2 years have traumatized me as well. Great stuff as always DB ✊
We’re gonna find out. I think a trade is still very much on the table for the options are slim. The Broderick thing makes no sense to me personally. It just feels like a really disjointed path for no reason. Appreciate you checkin it out man. More to come.
@Steelers_DB once again some of the very best steelers content out there. The difference with Russ is simple: where in past he'd escape defenders or get the ball out right before they arrived, now he's tackled or throwing it away. In my opinion, his only hope to make this team better is a ton of play action. Fields has a higher ceiling but lower floor with all the poor decisions and turnovers.

It sounds like Russ is gonna be back this week once the pads are in. I think that's a good thing simply bc I think hes gonna be the starter week one regardless. But these reps def are good for Justin. From what I understand, hes flashed but hasnt been overly consistent. Well see what next week brings. Long process ahead...
Madden has russ as starter so it's solidified lol,,russ the Future,,it's just interesting that MikeyT is interested,,talk about him as a starter or trading pawn,,every mistake is on purpose
