Thanks for a great walk through Mark! Your channel sure is growing....and well deserved sir! I am very interested in this kayak and how it handles abuse, particularly the pdl drive. I look forward to more videos telling us what you think!
Great overview. I think this kayak is a great bang for your buck considering Hobie’s current pricing. The only thing holding me back is the high center of gravity. If there was a way to adjust to seat lower I’d definitely buy one.
Old Town makes some good Kayaks. I really think that Kayaks are at a point now where if they go any further your better off getting a boat. A trailer to haul these things and practically need a boat launch now for one. So given the speed behind this and the tremendous weight my next kayak is going to be a boat.
Great review. Better than some of of the others I have seen for the 2020 PDL. I've seen it person and its an Awesome Kayak. I have a 2018 Predator PDL and Love it. Transducer mount is the best upgrade in my opinion.
I've been offered a Predator PDL and it looks the right Kayak for the inshore waters where I am, it will never see lake or river. Although its brand new, I think it is the first version of the Old town Predator PDL, because the Bow hatch is the thumb twist to lock type and not the one hand B-cord type, also the rudder control knob doesn't have the locking mechanism, but everything else looks the same, I cant see any difference in the hull, except I don't think the paddle catch is on the side as shown in your review. I guess there was an earlier version of the OT-PDL before the one that you just reviewed. I cant find any info on Old Town site, but thats probably because the have discontinued the Predator PDL. I reckon the OT-PDL is better in the chop to say something like the latest Hobie outback although, the mirage drive technology is impressive. Nice Review, thanks.
I think I need to put a CL and up to offer to buy one of these for $1500. That seems like plenty to give for a non motorized yak to me. I love OT, don't get me wrong. I've been in OT canoes for 40 years and my OT Pack is my queen of my fleet and as good today as 13 years ago when I got her, but pricing a PDL within a few bucks if a motorized version seems silly.
How come i ain't never had no company reach out to me to test a product lmao! But in all seriousness i love old town very qulity products been around since the 1800's but those hobbies are one of the best quality products ive ever seen
Another amazing video comparing the 2 kayaks 👏👏 I like the new features and the speed of the new predator if stability is a concern on the predator maybe you can rig it with some pontoon stabilizers and then do a new review with them on. In the surf and offshore and try to flip it 🤔🤔
Goubert outdoors I work very hard for these kayaks. They’re not given. It’s like asking someone “what do you do with all the paychecks you get from working?” Do you just give them away.
Thank you for the explanation , and your own thoughts or your opinion : which one of the two you would use if you have only the choice to get one of those , between the hobie outback and the predator PDL 2020 ... my question to you it's because I'm looking to buy one of those beginning of next year probably fully loaded with all the equipment and electronics as well , again thank you for your videos there are very useful.... 🐟

@@kendragon2827 Cant please em all....I've owned an outback and now have a PDL and huge difference in Kayaks. The PDL suits my needs for the type of fishing that I do. I need something super stable, super fast, dry hull and hands free instant reverse
13-14ft is needed these 10ft or so are to small.Really hate the small bow hatches/ closed bow I like an open design for fish bags or coolers.....Dam 13ft it sure looks smaller as far as storage area
If this is for review, why would you drill holes in it! I'm thinking they will not give you a 2500 product for free, but at a generous discount! (He said his main kayak) Things I didn't like about this videos: *Apples vs. Apples = competitors have the same stuff for 700-900 less *He's speaking fast and just flying through this video *Lose & free floating hatch is cluttering *9 plug holes, that's a lot to worry about and possibly lose *short seat straps, broken bungee on brand new product, floor padding can wear out or scuffs *117lbs, after accessories 140+ Just my opinions
Very true had to raise my seat up 8" for a more comfortable seating problem solved on that. But as in quality the ascend fs12t have great review on that and mines going on 5years of heavy use no quality issues ascend uses very good plastic. I still don't know were the 2500 price tag is comming from
i just dont understand the hype about this kayak. i would rather run lure 11.5. better seat. just as stable. pedal drive. but the seat is a the big seller for me. ive sat in that old town seat. it doesnt compare. . not saying its a bad boat. its a dam nice kayak. i just dont understand the hype.
I have the topwater pdl 120, old town makes quality products. At least they didn't up their prices due to so called tariffs. Apparently they get their plastic in the USA.
Love the way they were able to integrate the power pole with the twist n stow type rudder

Saving up for one now. Went to a local shop yesterday to look at and sit in one. Thanks for a great video!
I just went to my local small town outdoor store and ordered the first light...I still can't believe that they added stuff AND DROPPED the price

I bought one!!!!! Love it!! This thing is FAST and stable in the ocean. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the support!

Im curious to see how the center of gravity works out. Looks high and you can't lower the seat.
Seeing it on the water the other night . It looks to move very well and turns effortlessly
You and Nick are going to have to rent another storage unit before long.
Got to see one this afternoon, congrats on this man you deserve it!
Thank you
Great video, but turned it off after the third add.
Really clear explanation buddy 👍👍👍 Regards from México 🇲🇽
Thanks
Awesome man. I’m
Happy for you guys! Good looking kayak for sure. They definitely seem to listen to customers when putting products out.
Man I wish I put more time into my RUclips channel before I had kids. Old town is sending the Predator PDL to everyone with a Hobie lol!
Congratulations on the purchase. I look forward to your comparison of the Old Town PDL with the Hobie Outback 2019 in offshore use.
Milton Quadros it was given (free) to the channel.
It’s getting heavier and heavier now, more expensive too. No longer a kayak but a boat 🚣♀️
More expensive? the price dropped by $300, unlike the Hobies

I love that kayak! If only it had dual steering. I would still get one. Great video
Thx for your awesome, in depth review. This is the one I’ll be purchasing!!! Subbed with the bell😂😂😂
I love the OldTown.
Wow Mark, that is nice!!! Cant wait to see it in action!
Think the side handles are more for reentry after a tumble then for carrying
I think you have enough kayaks now to start a guided tour business. Congrats, can't wait to see how it stacks up to the Hobie.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Great 1st. look can`t wait to see it on the water.
Nice kayak, congrats. Looking forward to seeing it in action.
Cool,, looking forward to this and the comparison... Thanks.

man you got a fleet of yaks! looks pretty nice
Nice! When are they going to do a 10.5’ Predator? That would sell a few.
Awesome kayak! What do you do with the others you have?
is it available overseas
I am not sure.
What's the width of the tankwell? Wonder if my AO36 will fit crossways.
What’s the difference between the Predator, Topwater, and Sportsman?

So when they send you stuff you never have to return them?
What do you do with the power pole if you carry on a car top ??
what's keeping water out of that hole for the transducer cable? If you flip, won't it let water in?
Yes if I flip water will get in.
@@MDLRFishing is there a way to cap it?
yes, purchase a Hobie grommet kit.
Hey I could not find a video on your truck bed rack for hauling your kayaks. I would love to find this info

MDLR Fishing hey thanks a lot I just could not find that. I really enjoy your videos. Tons of good info
I see you got the scuppers with the predator. How many did you get with your Topwater 120 pdl?

Hello thanks for watching!
As a lefty it needs Dual Steering. Is there a drop in buckets for the front?
No buckets.
Great vid mark curious how shallow it will run
I got it to do 16” with the drive in and approximately 6-10” push poling.
What's the difference between sportsman bigwater and predator??
So what do u do with all the kayack they send u do u just give them away after u use them ?????
Goubert outdoors I work very hard for these kayaks. They’re not given. It’s like asking someone “what do you do with all the paychecks you get from working?” Do you just give them away.
Will the seat fit on the Topwater PDL as an upgrade?
I'm not sure.
Yes it will fit both 106 and 120
rudder swings to the side now?
No, it still goes straight up and down but I had the Power Pole mounted so it appears to do what you said.
Looks good, thanks!
What does the underside of this kayak look like?
What kind of cart do you use to transport the predator pdl?
Malone wide track

Another great product I can't afford!
Very nice Yak.
Good kayak, price just too close to hobie mirage outback, should of priced it at 1999 or less, IMO
This trumps the Hobie outback in so many ways. The Outback is over $3k now and this is $2500.....
@@build.drive.fish. He is clearly trolling. It's 2499 instead of the old 2799, and the outback is 2949

What store shipped the kayak to you?
The company sent it
I can’t afford it but I have a cheaper one that works . Nice boat . Set the hook brother
What the hell is a power pole?
do they sell a tandem version
check out Old Town by clicking on the link in my video description.
While Hobie is raising up their prices. Old Town is out here lowering theirs lol WTH.
Where can I buy one
Try Mariner Sails in Dallas
Do you guys any Tarpon in Texas?
Mainly in southern Texas, South Padre mainly. You can catch some around Port Aransas and occasionally in/around Galveston.

You should name the yaks!
What should I call her?
What is that yellow thing on your hat?
GoPro camera case
that’s not what you said your dream Kayak was
irachete1 I hope someone builds it soon.
What color is that?
Smoke Camo
Would you approve this for a person 6-8 280 pounds
It’ll get the job done but I’d suggest demoing it first.
I wouldnt care about a frayed bungee either if i got a free boat
$2599 now!
Its 2 feet to long! I'd rather have a wider but shorter rig if it's a PDL!
Mines well buy 12 footer

Why too much $$$ for a kayak my ascend fs12 was 500, minkota 55lb trust motor around 200ish I think, 101amph battery $60. Aint worth no $2500 for that

Guess you got yours for free because no else can get one!
Who gave the thumbs down? pendejo, just jealous, another great toy Mr.Mark, awesome!!
