Thank God for this technique, no way in hell am I going to go through the trouble of spending hours disassembling my 2DS only to mess something up and end up breaking it even more. You are a lifesaver.
A little bit of double sided tape should do. You can also buy small 2mm strips of 3M double sided which should also do. But double sided tape is cheapest option. I would stick it on the back of the lens, but not over the clear bit of the lens, then carefully cut it off before you peel off the second side, and before you stick it to the ds
Just removing the screen cover doesn’t actually damage it right? I have some dust under mine and I really wanna get it out but I don’t really feel like buying a new screen cover. would that work?
No as long as it doesn't snap the screen you should be able to get it out. I would try sulction cup as near to the corner as you can. Heating it to soften the glue though, but the heat could damage the screen too..
Hi Clint. I got it from zed labs ebay outlet shop. They still have them there, but their main shop has them in lots of different colours. Here is a link to one of them in red. www.zedlabz.com/products/replacement-top-screen-for-nintendo-2ds-lens-plastic-cover-red-zedlabz?_pos=2&_sid=920b23b34&_ss=r

I was about to disassemble the console and fit the lens from the back. You've saved me a lot of hassle. Kudos!
I’m a complete novice and this video allowed me to changed a badly damaged screen in five minutes.
Thank you so much. I can now sell this device on!
This is one of the only simple and easy to follow videos I could find for this. Thanks so much!
Would recommend you apply heat to adhesive again to rebond the lens back to console
I bought a 2ds used, it was in amazing condition except the screen, good to know I don't have to disassemble it to replace the screen. 👍
Glad to know you can do this
Brilliant thank you for the video, I was looking for a 2ds specific video

I tried this and the sticky wasn't sticky enough to put the new screen on, is there anything I can use to keep it steady?
