Shifar Abdoelaziz Ft. his student Shanil Baldi on "Chutney-Calypso" ~Shifar's Studio of Percussion

"Chutney-Calypso" is a very popular dance style among the Surinamese- Indians and I've made a small composition consisting of uthans, prekars, tihais, a twist of another music style called "Kaskawi" and rela. Meet my Dholak student: "Shanil Baldi". I have to say that I'm proud of the effort he makes to learn music from me and I think the video showcases this a little bit.
P.s. I have my own label "Shifar's Studio of Percussion (SSP)" under which I do musical performances, CD projects, give percussion lessons and create Dholak pudi's (drum-heads). Please note that both soers (Dayans) were made by me. Hope you like how they sound :-)

I didn't make the drum shell myself, but all the heads with SSP on them are made by me ;-)
