I love this music,it brings me a sense of peace. I also love the Firdaus ensemble and love the way they have fused Islamic music with Celtic music, it just feels so right .

Will appreciate it greatly if somebody could confirm the maqam in which Sheikh Ali Keeler recited surah Al Fath at the beginning of the clip. Is it Ajam/Jiharkah? Thank you.
I may be wrong, but I have read somewhere that music instruments are not allowed in Islam, and they were introducted by shaitan to mankind to seduce each other. Pls confirm who knows this....I havn't read anywhere in hadith where it says that nasheeds are done with accompany of music instruments...sorry..I like the music...but mix it with religion might be little bit too much
Amir B, Assalamu Alaikum brother, I'm not a scholar but want to share my opinion as a practicing Muslim. Allah Subhan-Allahu wa-Taâla encourages muslims to use their intellects which is a gift and distinguishes human being from animals. So what is the wisdom of it? While human and societies are changing, Allah has already provided the recipe for us that is our intellects. And Allah mentioned our borders when we use it, such as not to associate a partner to him or always being justice and etc. For centuries, Muslim scholars have build a systematic way of thinking to answer believers' questions which were difficult to be answered by Qur'an and Khadis. And it became one of the sciences of Islam that I can't explain it now. What I know is, scholars have different opinions about music while salafis and wahhabis think it's Haram, sufis think, if music doesn't lead us to illicit thoughts or behaviors, on the contrary if it inspires and boosts our spirituality towards God, it can't be considered Haram. I recommend you to do doa and research for your question then follow the opinion which is more convincing for you. Before ending my message, I want to remind you, the islamic system that I've mentioned above is a gift from Allah. It prevented Islam to be a dogmatic cult belief system like other religions in which people struggle to find answers for their questions related with time, science or social issues. Although salafis and wahhabis claim music is Haram. For the last decades, they are struggling with their own youth who really want to practice music because only saying it's Haram is not convincing. Especially, it becomes more difficult for adolescents and people who are really gifted with musical skills . Maybe there's a burning desire in their soul. No one can know human capacity and skills better than Allah. Maybe Allah will be pleased with these skillful people who educate their soul and use it for the benefit of others. Allah is beautiful and He likes beauty. Each soul is different that's why we can't find any closer friend rather than Allah so why don't we guide these people to use their skills mannerly? I challenge you to consider which is a better option, to let our youth to fulfill their desires with Beyonce and Lady Gaga or Sami Yusuf and Ensemble Fridaus? May Allah guide all of us on the staright path that He'll be pleased with us.
Amir, I am sure this music made you appreciate and love your Islam religion. As such, how could it be haram? There is all kinds of music, But this is not all kind of music. That's my opinion. Music that gets you closer to your faith is good music.
This is Throught of Wahabi/salafi extremist view of islam. In Quran there have not a single verse that music is prohibited. According to hadis music is allowed by prophet Muhammad (sm). Mevlana Rumi said: Music is the language of God. :)
In my country mawlod nadhom only vocals, no instruments, clapping of hands or unnecessary expressions allowed buttt....some halqa used hadra drums & when we recite solawatul qiyaam everybody MUST STAND UP - sitting down is amount to disregard & disrespect.
