This sparkly blue box of happiness showed up on my doorstep today. I can't help but smile just looking at it! These 60th Anniversary 59 DC's boast NOS+ Lipstick pickups, stacked volume and tone controls and a 3-way pickup selector. They're light, tight and have a unique tone thanks to those pickups and construction. The 59M DC is built in Korea and "every guitar set up in USA". Value for money? Hell yes! Fun? Double yes!
For this video I decided to let the guitar do the talking by creating an improvised loop with a Fender Super model in the Axe-FX III. I threw in some octave fuzz and other stuff just for fun.
    Today's tools:
    Guitar: 2019 Danelectro ’59M™ NOS+ METALFLAKE™
Amp: Axe-FX III running Fender Super model (Austin Buddy preset)
Extra effects: Fuzz, reverb, delay, OD.
    Cables: Free The Tone
Camera: Canon 60D and Nikon D5100
Soundcard: Fractal Audio Systems Axe-FX III
Monitors: Blue Sky Media Desk 2.1
Computer: Apple iMac 27" i7 3.4 GHz 16 GB RAM
Software: Logic Pro X, Waves Plugins, Apple Final Cut Pro X (video editing and RUclips compression).

Stunning finish. Absolutely love it, blue is my favorite color. I have the same guitar in black lefty and it is very good quality and a shit ton of fun 😁

WOW. I'm _really_ interested in possibly buying one of these Danos. I've watched a bunch of YT demos over the last few weeks... great sounding ones, too... but somehow _yours_ have THE most impressive tones. I mean, besides the expert playing and the judicious use of effects, the _tones_ of the Dano are presented in such a fantastic way. I can really, really imagine all the possibilities.
Oh, wait. I think you just sold me a guitar!

When you did the lead stuff the combination of the pick ups and distortion were sublime.

Classy stuff! I recently bought the 59XT, what a good instrument! Nice easy slimish neck, good tuners, good controls and impeccable finish, what's not to like?

I have always liked the look and sound of the Dano guitars, but the necks are so much different than anything else and feel a bit stiff to me.

I've always loved Danelectro. Way before the reissues came out. But Danelectro, these days, likes to play fast and loose with their marketing terms like "NOS" and "Vintage". Close an eye and look at the 59' from across a smoky hall, and it might resemble a 1959 Dano. But the similarity ends pretty quickly. They're still fine guitars...but until you've played the originals you haven't truly played a Dano. The 90's reissues were much closer....but still.
