marvelous song in every languages. simone was staggering in Stockholm 1975. I listen to this fantastic song even after 44 years and is still very fresh. masterpiece.
Thanks for uploading this English version🙏. I find it interesting though that the English lyrics are completely different from the original German version. Here in the English version, it was talking about a child named Mikado but in the german version, it actually talked about the game Mikado.
He drifted into town one autumn day And suddenly it turned to spring And as the flowers start to bloom again Then I heard children sing He told me that Mikado was his name And he had always travelled on But never find a place to settle down Tomorrow he’d be gone Mikado, Mikado, you’ll never find a home Mikado, Mikado, no matter where you roam Home is where your heart is, love and love make two Mikado, Mikado, the rest is up to you Mikado, Mikado, you’ll never find a home Mikado, Mikado, no matter where you roam I will make you happy, grey skies turn to blue Mikado, Mikado, ’cause I’m in love with you I asked him if he’d ever had a home Someplace that he would like to stay And when he looked into my eyes, my heart Cried, “Please don’t go away” And then he said to me, “It feels like home” “Now I am standing close to you” He took me in his arms and smiled again And there and then I knew Mikado, Mikado, you’ll never find a home Mikado, Mikado, no matter where you roam Home is where your heart is, love and love make two Mikado, Mikado, the rest is up to you Mikado, Mikado, you’ll never find a home Mikado, Mikado, no matter where you roam I will make you happy, grey skies turn to blue Mikado, Mikado, ’cause I’m in love with you

The name of the game. Maybe this words fit better in the English version.
He drifted into town one autumn day
And suddenly it turned to spring
And as the flowers start to bloom again
Then I heard children sing
He told me that Mikado was his name
And he had always travelled on
But never find a place to settle down
Tomorrow he’d be gone
Mikado, Mikado, you’ll never find a home
Mikado, Mikado, no matter where you roam
Home is where your heart is, love and love make two
Mikado, Mikado, the rest is up to you
Mikado, Mikado, you’ll never find a home
Mikado, Mikado, no matter where you roam
I will make you happy, grey skies turn to blue
Mikado, Mikado, ’cause I’m in love with you
I asked him if he’d ever had a home
Someplace that he would like to stay
And when he looked into my eyes, my heart
Cried, “Please don’t go away”
And then he said to me, “It feels like home”
“Now I am standing close to you”
He took me in his arms and smiled again
And there and then I knew
Mikado, Mikado, you’ll never find a home
Mikado, Mikado, no matter where you roam
Home is where your heart is, love and love make two
Mikado, Mikado, the rest is up to you
Mikado, Mikado, you’ll never find a home
Mikado, Mikado, no matter where you roam
I will make you happy, grey skies turn to blue
Mikado, Mikado, ’cause I’m in love with you
Thanks for the songtext.
