@@GadgetClass I FIGURED IT OUT!! I had to uninstall at the bottom of device manager. Under USB controller there was a drive with an exclamation and just uninstalled it and it brought back my HID-Compliant Touch Screen. Thanks again

When I go into the device manager and click on human interface, the USB input device doesn't show anymore. I'm not sure what happened, but is there anyway to reinstall it?
Barbara Erbeck on mine one of the symbols had a tiny error triangle and I made sure it was up to date but then disabled it and then enabled it and now it works perfectly fine
I cracked the main screen of my Asus Zenbook Pro Duo, which is normally a touch screen as well. It still works fine with the mouse (can't even see screen crack) but now it's touch capability is gone. Is that an automatic consequence of cracking a screen, and is there a way to still have touch screen that is cracked?

My ASUS T101HA transformer book lost its touchscreen functionality shortly after Windows 10 was installed. Your video was one of the first I have seen which pointed out to the power management option to enable the touch screen functionality. My device manager also detects the monitor as a Generic PnP. POst trying out your power management and disable/enable, I still did not get the touchscreen functionality back. Also, lost was the sound from the built-in speakers. ASUS website/support also did not help. Note: I got the name of the monitor as: ASUS T101HA DKFJR7R. Do you have any suggestions to fix the above issues?

Okay. This would be great only if I could login to my pc. I have this problem but it occured after system update, now touchscreen and my USB mouse and keyboard are not responding. How do I fix the issue if my peripherals aren't working?
@@GadgetClass the latest windows update took away my ability to use my touchscreen and USB mouse and keyboard. Therefore, I couldn't login to my computer to get to a point where this tutorial would help. I eventually had to use another fix that I found that helped me remove the previous update. This happens a lot when Windows pushes a new update; so, i probably should remember this fix. 😆
thank you very much, I fixed the TouchScreen on my Inspiron 15r after the WakeUp, but with a little difference: all HID devices where enabled, but the ToucheScreen wasnt working at all, so I disabled the two USB-HID devices I had under the HID tab and the re-enabled it and the TouchScreen came to life again. its a little annoying but seems to be the only way to enable it again. thanks.
But what can you do when usb devices stop working, and you cannot use a USB device (mouse,keyboard, touch pad) to do anything? I have a touch screen desktop. I cannot do anything outside of start the machine up. Nothing usb works

I've had it for about 4 or 5 years now never had this problem before, not sure it is old age or faulty programming resulting from an update or improper shutdown? All I know is that its very annoying and pointless to use the touchscreen now I have not seen any postings addressing my exact issue yet though i'm still looking. Do you have any advice to offer? after loads of try's i got touch screen to work only problem is that its all over the place when i touch bottom of screen it comes up as if touching top also when turn on tablet loads up ok then when i hold it screen turns upside down im getting there still problems tho.

This method is mainly for it not working when the computer wakes up from sleep. If your is doing it after a full restart, you may need to update your drivers, or you may have an actual hardware problem.

That's didn't work I have my keyboard plugged in and it has the color lighting up so I know it's some what working but it doesn't type or anything and when I plug in my mouse or other things it doesn't work

Kyndreka Blue Restart. If Touchscreen doesn't work thereafter, then open device manager and right click on the HID device and select update driver. That should install the default driver.

What kind of update? Did you try turning it off and on again, and plugging your mouse/keyboard into different ports?

I too have a q551ln, but one day my HD compliant touchscreen just disappeared from the device manager and can't get the touch screen to work since...

Cust0mBuilder boot into recovery mode. You can also follow my video on making a bootable windows installation disk or memory card.
