- A lion-cub trio has made its debut at a safari park in Japan. They're stealing the hearts of everyone who sees them. Let's take a look.
Story:
Meet Japan's new little triplets. The Fuji Safari Park in Shizuoka welcomed the three male lion babies into the world when they were born five weeks ago. These tiny kitties have just learned to purr and waddle about, making their first baby steps in becoming the king of the safari world.
Each cub now weights about three kilograms and has been growing quickly thanks to the extra care given by the zookeepers. They lap up milk from their trainers three times a day as their teeth are still too small to chew up any meat.
While other park animals may pout at the full star treatment they get, the babies may deserve most of it. They are now the star attraction in the area. Ever since their first public appearance last Saturday, the park is filled with visitors trying to catch a glimpse of the new kings in the making.
Young and old people queue in line waiting anxiously for their turn to hold the cubs in their arms.
[Michiko Kawaguchi, Park Visitor]:
"The cub was warm and soft, almost like my son when he was just born."
[Michio Sekoguchi, Park Visitor]:
"The baby was very adorable purring sort of like a frog saying ribbid ribbid ribbid. It was very cute."
Visitors must purchase a five-dollar ticket at the park entrance to take a photograph with the little creatures. The park says tickets sell fast.

What happened to their mother? These poor little babies might get sick from all of the strangers handling them. These beautiful animals need to be lions, not a circus sideshow. What will happen to them when they grow up? I pray that they are not sold off to the highest bidder, given that this group is so eager to make a buck by allowing strangers to pay to handle them. I understand that real conservation, taking care of the babies cost money. I also pray that the highest bidder is not some hunting safari/canned hunting group. Breaks my heart. There's always two sides to a story, so I hope that my perception of this story is wrong.
Dude.. Chill out. The owners of these cubs (I would think) are going to make the right decisions when it comes to taking care of them, etc. They know what they are doing, this is what they are trained to do.

What happens when the cubs grow and mature? Do they keep the mature lions or send them off to another zoo?
They will send them to the zoo because they will become dangerous when they grow. They will try to attack and eat anyone. They will become deadly beasts one day.

Frost Kitten That movie was horrible. The things they do to the whales to keep them inline is absolutely disgusting, but then wonder why some of the whales attacked the entertainers. I forget the one Whale that they kept in a small tank because of his risky behavior. Very sad, I wish they would shut that place down.

The cubs are beautiful but cub petting and photos are unethical. Why isn't their mother raising the cubs? Mother lions mourn when their cubs are taken away. It is very stressful for the lioness and her babies.

OMG!!!! Really? Did you visit the park? I saw some short videos and I thought I saw animal abuse with baby lions, could we do something? How do you know that these people mistreat the lions? Or how did you know that they killed their mother? Tell me please!!I thought I was crazy, but I think it's true about the animal abuse towards the lions in this park

Please dont fall prey to cub petting schemes. The lions are hunted illegally by elitist groups after they grow up as they can no longer be held and petted by tourists. Even if they are not hunted down their upkeep is expensive and they are kept in really poor conditions . Cub petting should be discouraged. These cubs are cute but not for our entertainment.
