  • In this podcast, Susan and Blake discuss Quieting the Noise: Finding Peace in a Busy World. We discuss what noise is, and how to quite the noise in our busy lives. In this insightful episode, we explore practical strategies for finding moments of peace and tranquility amidst the constant noise and distractions of modern living. From extraneous sounds and the endless scroll of social media to visual clutter and the incessant chatter of our own minds, we're bombarded with noise from all sides. Calming this ever-present noise is crucial for reducing stress, increasing focus, and enhancing our overall well-being.
This podcast offers three powerful techniques to help you unplug and cultivate a sense of inner calm:
    1) Shift your focus to the noise itself. By paradoxically tuning into the sounds, visuals, and mental noise surrounding you, you can create a state of separation that brings instantaneous, if fleeting, peace.
    2) Place your awareness on the pineal gland. Focusing your attention on this small endocrine gland near the center of the brain can induce a profound sense of stillness and tranquility.
    3) Practice being present in the moment. While mindfulness is an overused term, this episode provides actionable guidance on how to truly inhabit the present, even during life's most mundane tasks and routines.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, burnout, or simply a constant feeling of being overwhelmed, this podcast offers powerful yet simple tools for quieting the noise and rediscovering your inner oasis of calm. Tune in to learn how to integrate these practices into your daily life for greater peace, focus, and well-being.
By taming the external and internal noise that plagues our hyper-stimulated modern existence, we can reduce stress, increase concentration, and simply be more present and at ease throughout our days.

I can totally relate to this. I've been clearing out clutter in my house because it was making so much visual and mental/emotional noise. I love the sand in the underwear metaphor!! Ha!
    Anyway, great podcast!

Thank you for listening to the podcast. It is a process, isn't it? But with these strategies, we can go to that place of stillness with merely shifting our focus...no need to completely declutter our house. :-)

Hi susan, I know you and Blake did this podcast sometime ago. Just know it's always meaning full when you share life's challenges that you overcome. Like you I have read dr. Joe's books. The biggest challenge is overcoming our own mind. I'm glad your feeling better with no pain. Jan❤

@@Jan-bj4pi Thank you, Jan. Blake and I made this about three weeks ago. It took me a bit of courage to post it because of the level of sharing I did. Thank you for encouraging me to share. That is good feedback. I would say, overcoming the mind is a big challenge. I do have some different views on that. Maybe that should be my next podcast. :-). I think it is too often being put in front of us that the mind is something to overcome, fight, silent, and beat. The more I have been "thinking about it"....lol...the more I have emerged and developed into a different way or frame of reference in how to navigate our mind and thoughts. Hmmmm. this does sound like a great topic for our next podcast!
Thanks for continuing to watch and offer your insightful comments.
