Brilliant video , as always Sarah ! The microphone muffler works really well , adding to the pleasure of watching your walks and camps👍👍. Looking forward to the next one already !
Just got back from the OMM in Scotland a broken man so recovering this Monday morning. The x mid is simply brilliant in all respects. Roomy, two porches, non saggy, lightweight and can handle extreme weather no problem at all. In fact its become my all year round shelter now, even in snow with ground anchors and snow stakes. You cannot beat those eastern stakes for good anchoring. Another cracking video from a very lovely lady.
@@Roblovesbushcraft I am very pleased to hear that you share the same appreciation for the Xmid. I’ve really enjoyed camping in my (Diana)! Something quite satisfying about pushing up those poles and seeing it suddenly take shape. A lot of tent for the money with hardly any weight. Happy resting from the OMM! 💪🏻
What a lovely time you and your friends had, I did laugh when you got on the rock with your sleeping bag as a wind tunnel 😊. This time of year is lovely what with the leaves all changing colour and crunching on the ground the year has yet again rushed by
@@annbuckle5880 I don’t even know what possessed me to use my sleeping bag as a wind sock? Maybe my inner child and to celebrate the crazy up there is a good enough answer 😂 I always like to make my own entertainment and never take myself too seriously when I’m Out having fun…the year has certainly rushed by Ann, it’s a time to slow down a little and appreciate these shorter autumn days 🙏🏻 🍂
Lovely video again. I'm pretty sure your friends were on the pitch I used for my first (and only so far) Kinder camp. Having mates with you does change the vibe in a good way, but I do love camping solo for the relaxation and reset. Just had a night in the wind, rain and clag myself and as you said, felt cosy and safe in the tent. ATB, Roger
Ahhh excellent, yes it has a fair bit of shelter that spot and uprising flat, large grassy area suitable for a 2 person tent, I took one for the team by the rocks getting battered by the prevailing winds but it’s good to put the tent in some more challenging conditions sometimes. I have really enjoyed camping with my pals, it was great to catch up. I will also enjoy continued solo adventures for the very reason you do too Roger, they are priceless recharging trips 👋🏻I’ll be sure to watch your video tonight 😊
That’s perfect 👌🏻 and definitely motivates me to make videos for folk that aren’t able to get to see what I do. I’m sure I will be thanking someone in the same way in years to come too. ATB, Sarah
Great camp Sarah, in whatever the weather eh! If it was a perfect sunrise every time it wouldn’t make them special when they happen. Glad the mic worked well for you and thanks for the shout out. All the best, Gav.
@@HikingForHealth1 hey Gav, yes it was very different for me joining friends but very enjoyable. The feelings of having companions by my side provided some Comfort and security in addition to that which I get from filming. I know it’s just a phone but to me it’s everyone who clicks on play 😊 the muffler worked really well until the rains came! It’s time For me to invest in an action camera 🎥 😝
Hi Sarah, Seems ages, nice to see you back up in the hills and this time with a couple of fairly anonymous mates. As you say it changes the dynamic of the camp just knowing there's some friendly faces close by. Think I've said before I'd love to find a group that travel up together and then pitch a distance apart so you have the views, the feeling of isolation but knowing company is at hand. Shame you didn't get better weather, but that's the real world and that's life in the words of Led Zeppelin "upon us all a little rain must fall". Anyway I hope your friends weren't put off. The mike cover made a world of difference. Cheers Graham
👍😁👍 Hiya Sarah.. That gave me flashbacks of my windy wet wildcamp with my X-Mid up on dartmoor a month ago 😁 Good little pitch up near Grindsbrook with that great view of the Ridge accross the Vale of Edale 👍👍 Perfect upgrades for your dianna double tie out points on the 4 corners, as mine pulled through in 30-40mph guts so it's good to see yours worked a treat 😁 one thing about this time of year, you get to spend more time in our tents due to the longer nights, which I don't mind at all 😁 great video and takecare Sarah 😁
@@hikermikem8 hey 👋🏻 yes those longer nights in the tent 🥰 the first thing I did after that hot drink was get warm in the bag and nap for 3 hrs! Time Went very quickly when I was chatting away…but also as I slept so well. It’s a shame the weather wasn’t as pleasant as it was today. I’ve seen the beauty of the vale of Edale on my perimeter walk earlier in the year. One day I’ll wake up to it with a clear view again and hopefully some Nic weather for your next camp too 😊
@SoloSarahBX Almost always wakeup on Kinder clagged in, proberbly 3 out 5 camps.. Can't beat opening up the tent on a clear morning whilst the sun comes up with a brew in your hand after a good long sleep.. During summer I'm lucky if I get 2-3hrs kip before the sun rises up again at 4am 😁 I'll be doing them mods to my xmid Sarah with 2.5mm guyline rope , then hopefully if I'm caught out again in really bad winds mine won't loosen and the fabric flap about alnight 😁 Bring on them still clear frosty mornings, even snow 😁👍 As it happens, I'm actually picking up another tent in the morning to try out this weekend. Not a Durston but a Firemaple 2p 3-4 season in autumn gold.. can never have to many tents 🤣😁 Have a great weekend if your not working.. 😁
Good evening Sarah, thank you for that amazing video! Your friends were certainly very lucky to have you camp with them 😊 I'm really glad you had a great time as you're so used to going it Solo. The weather wasn't great out there last night, and kinder certainly can smack your bum and send you home packing, so to set off knowing you're in for a night of rain and up Grindsbrook as well with those packs on your backs 😅 you certainly don't do things by half's. Always appreciate your humour, the laughs you provide us with, and the effort you go to to put together such honest and entertaining videos. Another special camp to add to yours and your buddies memory box. 🌟⛺️🌧🌷🌟
My monday morning consisted of me sketching out a halloween shop run by a ghost selling witches broomsticks and a skeleton couple walking past waving at the ghost in the shop :D I know where I'd rather be though! :D. Nice little camp with friends Sarah :)
@@SoloSarahBX If I ever get a minute from my bread and butter work (kids books etc), which isn't often, Ill go for a wander up Kinder, take some pics and look for good things to illustrate. Rock formations are my thing really, and theres plenty of them up there! :D
Thanks Phil, the weather felt much worse than it looked on camera but it was still worth it just being up there was a true delight. The tent was a joy to use even as kinder was slapping my bum 🤩😝
Thanks 🙏🏻 it was a long one! I guess that is a consequence of being hunkered down in the tent on winter nights with solid rain. All that falling g wore me out…s😴
It's a nice spot there, I've borrowed it too previously. Last Wednesday, I was on the northern side to get away from the 45mph gusts. I don't know if you remember but I said my BA Rapide SL leaked. I've just had my replacement replaced for the same reason. There's been quite a delay getting it as there's been a redesign. There's no Primaloft, it's more compact, lighter and a higher R value. It seems more crinkly and I'll be testing it on Friday. Hopefully it will last more than 6 months (35-40 nights). Great video as usual. Keep getting out there.
Looks like a good time was had by you all. Thanks Sarah 👍
You bet! 😊⛺️⛺️
