I agree the reliance 6 gal jug sucks. I was storing water in a room and it sprung a slow leak on the bottom and soaked the carpet and now have mold issue. Reliance products have no place in my house anymore.
Amazon sells a nice German made 12V Portable Submersible Water Pump that I use to transfer water from water jugs to my RV. I use my jump starter to power it. Have been using it full time since 2017.
I personally like to use 30 or 55 gallon hdpe barrels for dedicated fresh water storage. I paint the outside with a UV reflective paint. A really good portable water storage system is the Water Brick. They are made not too far from me. They have other storage options as well like ammo and food.
When pouring water from the first one you should pour just like you would a 5 qt engine oil container. The spout should be on the top side so that the majority of liquid is below the spout as you pour.
Yeah looks like you were pouring this upside down! Turn that sumbitch right side up, with the spout up top, and the liquid won't come out nearly as quickly! cheers
We have an RV that we regularly camp in but don't have access to water in order to use our water tanks. (We camp on a local river so no biggie there). We keep the the Reliance 6 gallon water cans for cooking/cleaning, hygiene..etc. On the property (my inlaws own it) they have built a bathhouse. We use the Reliance 5 Gal cubes to store water and use for the toilet to manually flush. Thanks Andrew for the info. We will be looking into some of the Igloo 6 gal containers and maybe a couple of the Reliance 7 gal.
1:59 Quick tip. You're supposed to pour it the other way. Same with motor oil. Reason why the opening is on one side is because if you pour with the opening on top side, liquid doesn't come out until you tilt it half way. I see many people doing it wrong.

I actually built a small table to set the water jugs on while pouring the water into the tank, just make it a little higher than your water input so the funnel can fit right in. I made it with adjustable legs so I can use it at different heights for other things as well. Hope your enjoying the open road and getting comfortable with that lifestyle. I had the opposite results. The 6 gallon reliance was hands-down a better water jug for me than the igloo. It is space efficient and the pour spout fits perfectly in the vertical fresh water fill of my Grand Design Imagine The igloo pour spout is awful for me. Way too big. And the secondary handle is useless because of the height of my fill port. I used both half a dozen times. Never spilled with Reliance 6gal. Spilled a bunch with Igloo 6gal.
Aaron, 2:05 .. try pouring it with the spout at the top or at 45 degrees when starting off. Whether its a quart of oil, 5 gallon jug, or a small Heat bottle for the alcohol stove.. pouring them with the spout at the top allows much better control.
Weave been using a tera pump for some years now beats the hell out of standing there for an hour to load up 50 gallons by hand pouring those days are long behind me. At 78 you need to pace your self and if you do you will have no problem getting to 78 with a smile on your face. Happy trails you guys take car . Happy trails

Might not overcome the other issues with the reliance 6 gal, but if you use it in reverse (nozzle up and opposite side of the trailer intake) and rotate it then the nozzle won't leak as much before reaching the intake. I do that with various gas cans that have short and/or stiff nozzles and tougher to access intakes. The nozzle might still be too short and stiff for you, but it'd be worth a try.
The 20l scepter/lci military ones are worth a look. Absolutely bomb proof. They’re $40-$50 though. If you could figure out a way to suspend or set the the can above the filler, you could use a shaker siphon to fill your RV tank.

I very much liked the Igloo design, unfortunately the spout tore at the gasket after a few weeks. Walmart stopped carrying the Igloo because of too many returns. It is an inferior product that will fail.
I would never buy ANY water jug that has a push in air inlet like those Reliance jugs. I use the Reliance Aqua Tainer that has a screw on\screw off air vent cap.
I have 3 of the Igloo containers and they work awesome for all applications.

Why not just use a 55 gallon plastic drum with pump, place it in the back of your truck tied down with straps.

Had the Reliance 7gal and it leaked like crazy. Returned it to REI and assoc said they had a lot of returns and complaints with that model.

No. The Lord will ensure your container is safe.
