Is it a problem that I installed them with the cone shape facing forward instead of what shown here on the video? The only thing I don't have is the weather stripping and fastening tool, I found that an Allen key works the same.
@@GooberGalactic Only if you find the noise created with them facing that way is a problem. I think they will howl pretty loud without the weatherstripping.
Great job on the installation instructions! Very clear step-by-step procedure, and gives me much more insight than the installation instructions that came it the box. Thank you!
I just bought one of these and when I installed it the system completely twisted the roof rack. Its like the bands grabbed the roof rack and twisted it inward. It was so bad the plastic covers over the metal mounts were coming up off the surface of the roof, so the rubber gaskets weren't even in contact with the rack any more. Is there some trick to making sure when you tighten the system it doesn't twist your rack all to heck?
Hello. First, confirm the vehicle's roof rails are approved for this fit, some are not: www.rackattack.com/wizard/ The instruction manual and this video are the best guides for self installation, if there's still an issue please visit the store nearest to you for further assistance: www.rackattack.com/stores/ Thanks!
Excellent video - really useful. Though it has put me off buying these bars - what a faff if you need to position the bar in a different place on the roof bars depending on what's being carried (for me it varies depending on whether it's a RTT or bikes or kayaks or the top box)
Very clear and concise install demo. Thanks for that. The instructions show 2 parts that are not included with either the brackets or the bars with no mention in the text-free instructions that it’s for another bar system. The clips that attach the brackets to the bars seem like the weak point. If you tighten too much, the bracket won’t slide onto the bar. I guess something has to be a weak point to avoid ripping your roof off!
60 shouldn't be too long as you just have to stay contained within your mirrors. On an adjustable raised rail you can position the bars where you'd like/need and if you go with a Yakima Core bar they can even be cut down to the size you need. If you are forgetful like me padding helps protect the noggin' too!
The front bar install and general bar placement is discussed at 6:50 ruclips.net/video/km9mIbbZ0I4/видео.htmlm50s Should you find that this or any other part of the video does not explain the installation fully, understand that this is only an overview to the manufacturer's detailed instructions which are required for all installations.
That's a pretty generous statement about what happens at 6:50. I do find this video helpful, but being new to cargo boxes and cross bars I need more detail on a complete installation, not just the rear bar.

Overall better instructions, demo and advertisement than Yakima themselves. Thank you! You deserve compensation for this!

Amen!

Helpful, clear and concise. Much better than the factory video. Thank you.
You're welcome! Thanks for the feedback!
This was incredibly helpful - thanks a million for taking the time to put it together!!
You're very welcome!
How do you reinstall those screws on the tightening straps if they were taken all the way out?
Great video - made the install process really easy and quick.
Glad you liked it!
Thank you! So much better than reading the directions. Appreciate you posting this video.
Nice and slow pace in detail with good close ups, well done
Many thanks for the encouraging feedback!
Thanks! I installed my system based off this video!
This was an amazing instructional video-- well done and thank you so much
Hello. Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for the info, it will help me a lot when I get my new towers
Glad to hear it!

Perfect instruction.
Thanks!
Good info, thank you 👍👍👍
What size JetStream Bars are used in this video?
When Installing the timberline tower are the metal pieces supposed to be tight or is it ok if they wiggle?
When it's completed, tight. During setup, it's okay to be loose to get your side to side measurment
How’s the maximum from front bar to rear bar? 35inch is ok?
You can position these bar anywhere on the rails. Some products may require specific spacing for them to fit properly.
Do those JetStream adapters come with the Yakima timberline kit?
Hello. The bar adapters are packaged with the bars (RoundBar adapters are sold independently). Towers do not include bar adapters. Thanks!
Thank you very much!
No worries, James!

Hello. Thanks for the feedback and insight.
Disagree. I think you’ve done something wrong.
would 60" crossbars be too big for this car? is there a way to position them to avoid hitting your head?

Great video. Yakima should be ashamed at the directions that came with these products. They need to hire a writer.
Hello. Glad the video helped!
This is 1000x better than Yakimas video, and their printed instructions are a complete junk. Only good as a fire starter.
Thanks
Glad it helped, thanks!
How do you get the first bar installed square to the roof rails?

Thank you! I'll check them out.
Are there different size rail straps? I’ve tried this and even with the stars tightened they are still too loose. (2022 Subaru outback wilderness)
no wonder my jetstream was noise AS HELL, cuz i left the rubber strip out.
Thank you!
Great video, thanks a lot.
