I think that bladder is the key. I was a little taken aback on my Jade X when i knew it had a bladder, i was thinking, what is this shit, but omg that coil shock is so amazing. I love DVO stuff.
i didn´t see you you cycling the suspension to equalizes from 50 in 50 psi, that could be the problem when you put 270 psi and without cycling it ,when you pull out the pumpe an sit on the bike the equalization will make you lost pressure to the negative chamber trough the bleed port.
I'm not as big a guy as you, I'm around 100kg/220 lbs in full kit, running 250 psi in the Float X. Will try the magic 240 next time I ride, wonder if it makes any difference.
I tried a gazzilion tuning options with my gen 1 topaz on my ripmo af... it was not till I added 4 tokens on the positive side and zero on the neg that the shock came into its own... im 230lbs and running 240psi and 195-200 in the bladder... SHE WANTS TO EAT NOW
O boy I have done that before try a million settings of tokens sore right hand. That must be a linear bike to get so many tokens in the positive chamber
The Ripmo AF is 19% progression and 30% with a cascade link. The bike felt “ok” with 2 spacers in the pos chamber… then i tried bracketing to take things from “ok” to “kick ass” played around with a gazzillion settings and tokens… adding 4 tokens to the positive chamber just unlocked this thing…. You might have to borrow bikes now to do a deep dive into thoughts about “kinematics”
I’m on the Rocky now and have the Status. I debating this video. But I already know the damper is more important. DVO does damping good. Perfect example of this is the Kenevo linear rear end with EXT e-storia $1200 shock is better than Rocky progressive rear end high pivot with with simple sun tour coil
So there is no magic 240 psi Run the psi which fits your weight bike and riding style And the shock goes down from 270 because the air can needs to equalize positive and negative.

The damper is importantly too. Dvo does a good job in damping
have two buddies with them, piggie back seems to leak on both. they have to check the pressure before each ride.
Mine was leaking a bit about the same rate as my rear tire with a shitty valve, so couple PSI per week... It's normal apparently 😂
🤔. Good input here

I’m like 263 psi on the X. Has no bottom out control so may not work and it makes pedal strikes to lower pressure
Do you equalize the pressure when pumping up shocks by cyclinc them a few times through the stroke?👀
I did for sure it it hard top outs then it no go and start over
Can we start getting into coil forks?
Forks are hard for me super expensive. I have a few videos on them and they don’t do good not much people are interested in 7 lb forks

Would you recommend the Topaz, TTX or Vivid Air for big jump lines?
They all work good. Topaz is more lively. Ohlins feels plush DH. Vivid is ok just primitive damping circuits
Does the large aircan fit a suntour tri air 2. Same basic construction.
I looked it up and it comes with the hv air can. I’m guessing sun tour licenses the shock from DvO and does their own spin on it like the Voro
@@OtterMTBtech I looked an yes it's already there. It looks like if the shock is OEM no xl can and if after market yes it is. Thanks again.

Dog you missed the point. After riding it 270 psi for 1 min immediately put it back to 240. Air spring feels comprised past 240
no climb switch is hella stupid
🧐 Ebike doesn’t matter Amish ya
My Topaz T3 is better on my bike than a new SDU. No contest.
