everyone wants a girlfriend for steve but actually what steve needs is a real friend. and with robin, he gets that. i know he has dustin and the rest of the party but having a friend in his age is also important. i loved that they included a friend rather than a girlfriend. plus, she's gay so that's fucking amazing.

I love that. I'll admit, I ship these two as more than friends, but I think it's so important that Steve has a friend too, and I really love that Steve was completely accepting of her sexuality even though he had a crush on her. Such a lovely tribute to their friendship!

it's striking how I felt both happy and sad about Steve and Robin... it makes me sad because at first I genuinely thought he was going to eventually get together with Robin, and she was definitely the perfect character for that (be with Steve), so when it was obvious that Steve started to crush on her and how she was obviously growing closer to him it made me think that it would finally be the moment Steve would find someone to love and be happy with, only for later discovering that it couldn't be, but the result also makes me happy because it's obvious that they love each other in a non-romantical way, they grew closer, becoming friends who work together, fight together and survived together, they are like soulmates (which don't need to be always romantically involved), 2 parts of a puzzle, people who accept each other and can openly show themselves in each other presence. This friendship is such a great thing for both characters, Robin character is great and so easy to like, and Steve growth makes everyone love him especially when you realize how selfless he really is, and finding a friend his own age, a person he can share and work with, it is so damn special... I already said that I feel both sad and happy for Steve, and although I was expecting something different for the development of the relationship of these 2, I can't say I'm disappointed with the result, because Robin found a friend to confide her secret with and someone who won't judge her (Steve fears being judged, so he can understand to a certain extent Robin fear of it, and for that same reason he wouldn't judge her) and Steve found a friend who he can connect with in a different way than his kids and the other characters, their relationship was also one of the best things to see, for that same reason now I hope they don't give Steve a love interest next season. Even though Robin and Steve can't be a thing (romantically) it would be very hard for this show to bring a character who could have a relationship with Steve that can bring the same (or more) chemistry that he and Robin had, his relationship with her is bound to be something special, they work together too good for letting it on the sideline, and as I said before, bringing a character that can be as likable as hers and that has the same or more chemistry with Steve will be something very difficult, even if she can't be a love interest, the truth is that Robin kind of left the "bar" too high for new potential love interests for Steve, because whoever he gets with would need to be every piece of the woman Robin and Nancy are, the person he gets with would need to be someone who can work with him to protect the kids and fight the monsters (or whatever enemy they face), someone who won't leave him alone, someone who can keep him in check and down to earth, but at the same time be there to support him and help him deal with things, someone willing to face danger upfront just as he does to keep others safe and help others. This show has brought a lot of incredible female characters, so no doubt they would be able to bring a character who would be Steve's perfect match in the future, but as I already stated, the "bar" is too high right now, and with Robin in the picture, even if they are only friends, it would be troublesome to introduce another LI for Steve, especially if that would mean to have less screen time for Robin, so at least for 1 or more seasons, the best would be to have Steve single and completely focused on himself and his friends, the people he cares about and the ones he's willing to fight and sacrifice himself for...

@@miahbrower4352 I can be sad for both, but I focused on Steve because in the point in time I made this comment I already had Steve for 3 seasons and he became my favorite character, while I had only met Robin for one season, and although I really liked her character, like I said, I already had Steve for longer.
Also, of course is sad for Robin having to come out in a time like that, she said it herself in season 4, if she confess her feelings for another girl she will become a pariah, but I also said that I'm happy that Steve and her became friends because now she has someone who not only knows her secret but that won't judge her for it and be supportive, considering the time period, Steve accepting Robin is already impressive and a relief, so it's awesome that she found a person who could accept her and still loves and cares for her, but it's so shity that she's in this position in which she has to hide her feelings from most people and can't be herself or even be with who she wants to be.
@@miahbrower4352 before Robin coming out, there were a couple of scenes in which they made it seem as if Robin had an interest in Steve and seemed to be a potential love interest, they are a great match with great chemistry, yes, she is a great character on her own and easily became a fan favorite (also a favorite of mine), but no tv show (or at least no tv show like this) as a lack of characters introduced to become love interests, so it was a possibility until we learned Robin's sexual orientation, so I'm sorry if I thought they would be a good match and that they could be a couple before learning about Robin's true feelings and sexual orientation.

I really love them together as friends and as romantic partners I know she is a lesbian and I respect that their friendship is sweet and all but why’d they have have to do me like that I really wanted them to end up together I’d prefer her to be his girlfriend then some other random girl that they just add to be his romantic partner but either way I’m happy they still have their amazing friendship and love for each other friendly off course

Honestly, I don’t think Steve needs a girlfriend. He has friends, even if they are children, lol. I’m glad he and Robin have a good friendship and how much they laugh together, is just pure friendship. The way Steve accepted her, is so sweet. I’m glad he had someone, and sometimes that someone doesn’t always have to be a bf or gf sometimes they just need to be a friend. So that’s what I love about them. 💗 I love this video.

Review the episodes well. Robin tells Steve that she is "lesbian" when the truth serum has no effect. It is not a coincidence. She curls up on herself when Steve confesses her feelings. Besides, why does she ask Steve if he has ever been in love with a girl? I have the impression (personal opinion) that she is not yet ready to be in love with Steve (she has never been in a relationship with anyone) and that she lied to protect their recent friendship . And in the end the time she puts on to say "friend" to the store manager and Steve's little smile speaks volumes for Season 4.

I do believe that there is definitely something there between Robin & Steve, but I do definitely believe that Robin is LGBT, and had a crush on Tammy Thompson. They never specified if she’s Bi or Lesbian, so there is still hope for them, and I do ship them, but if she really is a lesbian, their friendship is still beautiful and amazing. Also, going back to that scene when she comes out, she does say “It’s shocked me to my core, but I like you, I really like you.” I think that she really does love Steve, personality wise, with a platonic, friendship love, but she could just not be attracted to Steve because she is Lesbian. But we never know, she could end up being Bi and they could end up together, but I think it is really important to give Steve a best friend of his actual age, with no romance involved.

To me is all very familiar because ii was what happened to me i struggled for years to accept my sexuality and when i was ok with it i found out that i was bi i started liking a guy and it was all so confusing that i panicked and i think that's what is happening to her

Being gay in the '80s was far more difficult than today. I don't really think a girl would pretend to be gay just for fear of having a love story with a guy who likes her and that she likes too. Honestly, I find it very unlikely. Try and figure out how it could have been if Steve hadn't proved himself so understanding and open minded. There were many prejudices back in the day, Robin was clearly afraid of losing Steve and his friendship by telling him the truth about her sexuality.
