    The 4Runner is absolutely timeless. This rig is gorgeous. Toyota is enjoying record sales for the 4Runner because it's so popular, dependable and capable.

    The 4Runner and the LandCruiser and the GX460 are absolutely timeless and bulletproof. They are traditional and have a great following.
    The 4Runner arguably has the best resale value of any vehicle on the market.
    Yes, the 4Runner Limited is expensive, however, it retains its value like no other and provides outstanding reliability and performance.
    I have a '22 Limited and get more compliments on it than any other vehicle I have owned (including Range Rover Sports, BMW, etc.).

      @@Iegend17 You can’t beat Toyota. Idk why u would even dare.. It’s pointless. There is no way u could be them. They already have electric cars…. Everyone is still in the slow lane trying to catch up with them. I don’t see that happening. I’m with Toyota all the way….. Toyota is 👑 when comes to reliability.: They can run forever without breaking down…There is no point In trying to beat them you’ll be stuck in last place while Toyota on the other hand 🤚 is in 1st. Then u need to knock out everyone else to get to first place which u never will. I’d like to see another brand beat Toyota. They never will. They should just give up!!! Toyota is crushing the game.. Although there is some competition I can see Toyota wriggling out of the hole if they get stuck in one…. They can pull themselves out no problem…..

    Good review but you seem to have a LOT of complaints. The 4 Runner is $53k because it will LAST much longer than any other vehicle you can buy for the same price. I have a 2008 4Runner and it has been nothing but reliable with 260k on it. If you want Technology - buy technology. If you want a vehicle that is comfortable and RELIABLE - you can't go wrong with a 4Runner. SOMETIMES it's best to leave well enough ALONE. But it seems only us older folks understand that.

    • @ryanturnerboles
      @ryanturnerboles Год назад +2

      So it’s $53k even though it’s the same as a mid 2000’s 4 Runner? That doesn’t justify the price even for the reliability. I’ve driven one and it wasn’t impressive. Sure, it’s reliable, but that’s about it. The gas mileage is abysmal, and the stiff suspension is not worth the almost $60k price tag. Especially when you can buy one from 2015 that has the exact same features 7 years later lol.

    • @CanesFan65
      @CanesFan65 Год назад +6

      @@ryanturnerboles when it come to transportation, RELIABILITY it top of the list. I have never worried about whether or not my 4 Runner would get me wherever I needed to go, rain sleet, snow. That might not be important to you but having the peace of mind that it will last me for many many years without any issues is worth it. Sure you MIGHT pay 30,000 for another new vehicle and you MIGHT get lucky and have no problems. You MIGHT be able to buy a used one for a fraction of the price. My 50 years of experience had taught me that if someone is selling their old car, it’s usually because they don’t want to deal with the issues anymore. Plus you never know how others take care of their vehicle. No thanks. I’ll skip all the frustration and buy knowing that I piece of mind for at least 15 years. Some of us don’t give a damn about having the latest and greatest. If we did we would be buying a Tesla not a 4 runner.

      @@ryanturnerbolesValue, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. As 50+ year old, I’ve come to realize that the most precious commodity is time, and I’d rather not waste any of mine dealing with car issues. I’ve owned lots of “premium” vehicles over the years, but they all eventually developed issues. And, I no longer have an ounce of patience to even think about dealing with car problems, no matter how trivial. I prefer to spend my time on things that really matter to me. It’s all about perspective.

You can’t even get a well appointed Telluride for $53K. 4Runner just had its best selling year in history for a reason. Timeless SUV built in the best automotive factory in the world.

    In terms of the manually shifting transmission, the 4Runner is still like an automatic. You select the max gear that you want it to perform in, and it will auto shift throughout the gears i believe

  • @clover7359
    @clover7359 2 года назад +4

    9:26 That's because it's not a manual mode ... When you shift up or down, you are setting the highest allowed gear. If you shift to "4" it means you can use gears 1-4. In "2" it only allows 1st and 2nd. This is how all Toyotas have been about 2012 ...

    No worries if it's not worth it $53K, you can always buy a Kia Telluride starting $36K MSRP or a Hyundai Palisade about the same price, all bells and whistles... This 4Runner will outlive twice these Koreans, let alone the overall reliability... You just have to pick the battles you want to win...

      Trust me, you want to get something smaller. Explorers are very expensive on fuel and not cheap to maintain/repair either. It seems like all Explorers have some kind of issue that's more common than usual whether it be engine or transmission or something more minor. The exception seems to be the 2008-2010 models which seem to hold up the best, but those are all aged and you only want to buy one that has been taken care of. If inclement weather is a concern, a midsize car with dedicated snow tires is better than any 4WD with all seasons.
      My top recommendations are a 2003-2008 or 2014-2018 Corolla, 1997-2001 or 2005-2017 Camry, any year Toyota Yaris, 1992-2000 or 2010-2019 Civic, 1990-1997 or 2006-2007 Honda Accord (1998-2005 allowed if manual transmission), 2007-2013 Honda Fit, 2008-2011 Ford Focus, 2003-2011 Mazda Mazda3, 2007-2010 Hyundai Elantra, or 2005-2009 Kia Spectra.
