In the "Behind the Music" episode with Bon Jovi, it was stated that Jon fired Alec. However, on wikipedia, it is stated that he left the band. According to wikipedia, Alec is 55 years old, Jon is 50, and Richie is 53.

I used to be a Bon Jovi fanatic. I bought all of their albums up through "Crush". After that, I felt like they sold out. I enjoyed almost all of the songs on "Keep the Faith" but felt that they pushed for too many slow love songs on everything after that. It was kind of like elevator music - no edge to it.
according to an interview i heard with Jon, Alec was asked to leave because his heavy drug use was causing him to make mistakes. Hugh took over on bass but he is not an official member of the band as they chose not to officially replace Alec
He didn't get kicked out he left own. He wanted to do other things and you need to remember he is 10 yrs older than Jon and Richie........He was probably tired of the touring.
Bon jovi is about fighting through live hard times and never giving up. They sing about good times and bad times . Also in between times and that what life is about. Not party , party , and party. You realize they are grown up and maybe like us they became serious. I don't like it no more then u , but that the way the world too fucking serious.
Ok i understand you need edge , but bon jovi just doesn't sang love song if you would stuck around longer . You would've learn that they write song like learn to love is about seeing world through an open mind and compassion in any issue of human lives. Bon jovi has help me not once but many times stop from killing myself as a teen and a few month ago . I have a autoimmune disease that no doctar can heal me and they just say go on ssi . But i have to fight every day no matter what.

I agree - I think that after "Keep the Faith" Bon Jovi's music went downhill. I personally think "Keep the Faith" was the peak of Bon Jovi.

Well i think their still doing great . but they need to lighten up. But like every body else after 9 /11 they got serious too.
