We have a 2012 Itasca Reyo 25T (Navion "V") w/twin beds. It is exactly the same chassis as the Navion except it is a mini Class A (the Winnebago version is called Via). Full body paint, diesel generator, driver's side door. The Reyo was made through the 2016 model year and the Via through the 2018 model year. You may want to consider this model when you upgrade. We love ours also but we will give you some balancing negatives, too, which would also apply to View/Navion. We just moved to Florida and the laminate on the tables is literally falling off because of the humidity. Our full body paint came with a plastic diamond shield and after a year-and-a-half (we bought ours in 4/17) it became cruddy with mold in the glue between the plastic and the paint. Expensive or labor intensive to remove - look for one without this option if possible. But our last negative is the fuel, and we question if you haven't seen this problem also? The Mercedes diesel runs on #2 or B5. More times than we'd like to admit, we have come to stations that now only carry B20 which we can only use in an emergency. The entire state of Minnesota requires at least B20 or B30 fuel which means our fuel is not available there (we found this out the hard way). With environmental laws changing, stations are converting to B20 (Flying J, Pilot, Luvs, etc.). This is our main concern with the Mercedes diesel which may lead us to trading it. What is your position on this?
Move out of Minnesota, B20 or B30 is BAD for diesel engines. If you buy a newer Mercedes motorhome you will have a LOT of problems with the emission control system. We have a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter "Winnebago View". We brought it new and we have spent over $5,000 dollars replacing different things related to emissions on it. When the computer tells the engine to shut down because of a bad emissions sensor it stops running and has to towed to the Mercedes dealer. One time it was a 120 mile tow and another time about 150 miles. The dealer doesn't have the parts to repair emissions problems so they have to be ordered. One time the DEF tank developed a stress crack and there was not a replacement tank in the entire USA. The tank had to be ordered from Germany. Expect 2-3 weeks in the shop. Almost all the big trucks stuck on the side of the road with their flashers on are disabled because of emission problems. Large trucks spend an average of 3 days a month out of service because of this. My advice is to stick with what you have. Use the B20 if you have to and deal with any repairs as needed. You could try buying diesel at a Cenex station. Many of the Cenex stations sell diesel to farmers and their tractors are not meant to run on B20. They may have straight diesel - w/o B20. You could also try using a blend that many stations have of 50% Diesel #1 and 50% Diesel #2. That would reduce the B20 50% since I don't think they use any corn alcohol in Diesel #1. Just an idea.
You guys just made my mind that's what I want I think you said it was a 19 feet or 20 feet Travel RV and it's just me and my son and it would be perfect for us. I don't know if I could get used to that round stink but maybe I could but I love it I looked at Vans and I looked at RVs I've looked at everything for over 24 hours and you guys have made my mind up this is the thing that I want . I love everything about it and I like it because it's not too big and hard to drive . I'm a woman of 68 and my son is 30 something years old and I think it would be perfect so when I sell my house I'm going to look for one just like you have. I say a prayer for me because I have lung cancer and if I don't get over this I will not be going anywhere that hopefully to heaven. So thank you very much I dream is always to be traveling or living in the woods and this was one of my dreams to come true before I leave this earth thank you very much. And made the Lord God be with both of you all and your family and of course your dog we have a dog too. I lost my husband in 2006 from Agent Orange and now it's just me and my son
The wife and I went through the same down-sizing as you folks. We had a few large fifth wheels and travel trailers with large trucks. We now have a 2014 Navion and we love it. We always tow a small car which isn't a problem at all. We can still get into regular gas stations for fill-ups without problems as we had with large RV's. The reason for always towing a car is because we don't want to break camp every time we go out and about. Once we got used to living in a 25' RV and dealing with less room and storage, we fell in love with this RV.

Good afternoon. Thank you very much for your Winnebago review! This looks like a really great rig. My wife and I will be doing 1-2 week trips for the next 3-5 years. So, we have been mostly considering one of those small couples travel trailers (20-22ft). Whatever we get, we'll order it after the New Year's so as to have it by the spring or summer. We live in the mountains of CO. So, probably 50% of our camping would be in national forest campgrounds (with no facilities) or BLM lands. We would definitely want to mitigate the lack of electricity with some solar capability, as well as a small generator to back that up. So, over the last couple of weeks, we've expanded our consideration to one of these small class c sprinter van-esque type rigs. We have 3 main requirements, regardless of what we get; 1) queen bed with access on both sides 2) a separate place to sit in case 1 is in bed, and 3) a dry bathroom. So far, we've liked the murphy bed layouts. QUESTION: Knowing that some of our national forest or blm locations will be down dirt roads and such (hopefully you've been out to CO or another western state to get an idea of that); as well as boondocking spots will be on dirt roads, do you feel that these sprinter van type rvs will meet those requirements? Or, recommend sticking with one of those smaller travel trailers with a modest lift (either factory or aftermarket)? Thank you very much and stay safe.
I agree about the diesel generator, but if you are stuck with a propane generator, you should get an "Extend-a-Stay" hookup so you can supplement your tank with a regular portable propane tank. Just have to find a place to stick it in the basement. Save it for emergencies.
Great review. I also like having a Diesel Generator. One of your posters and You said to buy used. Must cheaper and most of the bugs are worked out. Thanks for the honest review.

You didn't tell how the refrigerator runs off of Gas Propane electric what and do you have solar panels on your roof. I've looked at hundreds as RVs and yours is perfect for us and I know it would be perfect for me and my son. I don't want anyting bigger than this and it has all the room and everything we need for two people you have really impressed me with your video how much did you pay for this RV
I was wondering about solar also. You need an inverter and batteries. Thinking you can rig it so the alternator charges the batteries also. So much to think about!

Will not get one with out one. Oh, and love the dog. We have two standard poodles and they are always with us when traveling.
Currently on a trip and actually switched to a Honda with auxiliary fuel tank for convenience of gas. Had an issue with LP Generator and didn't want to repair and fight to find propane anymore. We leave dog in camper some so we were going through lots of LP $$$. Diesel is the only way to go in my opinion. Thanks for watching and best of luck in your search.
Scott McHallam I'd like Standard Poodles in the future. Do you breed yours or know where I can find them? I like really large dogs. I used to have a Miniature Poodle & have had wonderful Standard Poodles in the family. Actor for Robin on Bateman has/had a huge black Standard Poodle with a puppy clip that really looked awsemome! A large dog that trains SO easily, hardly sheds & is a good watch dog...priceless!

Very nice Rig. The only thing I dislike is the generator not being on the driver's side. Less noise and exhaust away from the party-area side of the RV is a must.
I dream about a B+ or C rv with a full bathtub though, since you could load up on spring or rv park water, and soak in a tub in pure water on certain days during travel, maybe even with a window. Seems like that would have to be a modification in B+'s or C sized RV's.
To your reply about consideration of the new 'D' model. Sit on the couch. We liked that model too until I sat on the couch. I liked the Tiffin Wayfarer as it comes in white however it can't take any weight. And again, the couch is too vertical. They give you an extra seatbelt but after you put water and fuel, the weight allowance has been maxed out. Too bad Cuz they are quite nice too. Upscale from Nation. We ended up with Leisure Travel van Unity, FX. 2018.
You seem like a nice couple interested in teaching and training, thank you. You mentioned several things I would not have considered, again, thank you. Three points of entry/exit was an excellent point for the reasons mentioned. Let me ask, is this ideal for one person and dogs with the occasional guest? I'm retiring in a few years and this would be more or less lived in for months out of the year. recommendations and thoughts, please.

We have this model in a 2007 and bought it new. We have not found one we like better. We tow a 5 speed manual Honda Fit and have loads of fun. Your slide is a little longer than ours and I like that. Interested in your air mattress comment.
I have some mixed feelings. It's nice that the hump over the cab is still available as a second bedroom when more and more brands are stuffing a TV in there (why?!) Also, some similar RVs can't swivel the front seat because the floor isn't flush with the cockpit floor. I like the floor plans as Winnebago has plenty of experience in making a good layout. They clearly updated the cockpit since it looks like a Chrysler-badged Mercedes (For a reason: Mercedes owns Chrysler). The kitchen is very spacious and it's good that they put the STOVE against the back wall. When you have it next to the seats, they can get greasy. It's good they didn't skimp on the sink, I've seen some that were nearly useless because they're too shallow. The bad: the interior appearance. It clashes and looks like they combined the 1980s with the early 2000s. Why can't they just put a few Italians and Germans on a plane and let them consult for two measly hours? Every single RV I've seen suffers from That 70s Show Syndrome. They look like they're used even if brand new! Golly, put a few wavy lines where the countertops flow into the walls of the bathroom. Have a few angled doors on the upper cabinets with Euro push button drawer pulls. I went to an RV show two years ago and although there were some nice ones, the majority of them looked like they were designed by people who couldn't get their minds out of 1983...
Great review and good points. 3 entrys never heard this discussed, but important. How about baking in the convection oven, does it cook well? Rusty is soooo luvable. And nope you don’t even look 30 forget 40👍 That healthy eating has paid off. Your using this as extra vehicle is our idea too. We aren’t big campers rather roadtrippers. Will look over the 2020’s . Blaine Mills, Tell Wifey the InstaPot is a fantastic way to cook meals. My son just started cooking and ordered it last week. It is really useful! It also comes with recipes people put more recipes on line. Just be sure no one removes the lid before the pressure escapes. It shows you when to remove lid.

You should include a video about service and maintenance issues. Have you had any problems? How did you solve them? What are the long term costs? How is your mileage? Just some things that would interest me.

We have a 2011 View Profile for 6 years now. We love all the things you mentioned. For additional storage we have a large collapsible heavy duty rubberized bag on a cargo platform in the rear. It really is the best accessory for this RV. We also try to camp where there’s electric hook ups and rarely do boon-docking. Thx for the tip on full body paint. About how much would it cost and where would you normally do this?

Just looking at our original options sheet on our 2012 Itasca Reyo (same chassis as Navion/View). The cost for full body paint then was $5,166 from the factory.
yes, totally agree on that low OCCC on that Wayfarer. The reason I didn't get one! However, Travel Leisure is built on the same chasis and does not have this challenge. they have a generous 4000lb capacity to max out at around 15,000lbs. Given water at 8lbs/gal and fuel (diesel, in this case) at about the same (7.1/US gal) that can quickly add a few hundred lbs, plus minimally 300lbs of people, add to that grey water and black water holding and your coach is schleping an additional 1000lbs before even adding food, clothes, and other accoutrements. yea, Tiffin kinda blew that design, or their indicated figures are off in their brochures.
Hi, we bought a 2006 about two years ago and had it completely repainted due to that decal problem. It only had about 40k on it and we got it cheap so was worth it. Plus now it's under cover all the time except when camping of course. The main reason was to accommodate two grand kids, and yes, it's perfect for two adults and two kids. On the shower, I installed a controlled temperature faucet. It was hell trying to get the temperature right when taking a navy shower. The other problem is the short space between the front of the toilet and wall. If you lean forward a little, you'll hit it. I think you'll find you have 18 gallons of propane, or about 72 lbs. Mine always reads almost out, when it's really about 1/3 full still. Plus with propane you don't faces gummed carbs if not run for a while. A lot of people keep getting bigger and bigger rigs. If the grandkids ever quite going, I think I'd go back to a 19-21'er, just for the easy driving and parking.

But when we are set up for long periods it gets a little small with 4 plus now 2 dogs. Still working for us though. Solid units for sure. I can’t understand why some people go really big. jorgensen8 you’re right the toilet area is really tight. How is yours for power and mileage. I have an 08 chassis 154hp pretty much a dog on long hills and about 13 mpg.
@@fordracer1415 We get about 15-16mpg. Power is ok. It's only on the steepest highway grades (7%) that we can't keep up with the cars. But we're still quite a bit faster than the trucks. I'd rather have it that way and get better performance at the pump. I think the camper would do 80mph if pushed, but we never go over 65.
Nice review. This size is really perfect. I’m considering buying a 2015 and towing a motorcycle trailer so that I can have my other favorite mode of transportation 👍🏼

First off.. Thanks for watching and commenting. We actually just got back from about a 7000 mile trip out west and back. I was a little apprehensive at first about how the smaller Diesel engine would perform, but during and after our trip I was extremely pleased. As far as mileage we have experienced anything from 12 to 16.5mpg. Depending on the type of terrain we were in or how strong of headwind in the midwest. At those numbers we never experienced a time where we felt we were not able to make it to the next fuel station. I did carry an additional 5 gallon of diesel on most of the trip, but never had to use it. Hill climbs were good as well. I am not the type of driver that always has to have cruise on so I cant necessarily say how great it does climbing hills with cruise. Overall we are very happy with the performance of the engine and transmission. And Mercedes newer models have more gears and a better ride. Looking forward to upgrading someday, but for now we are content.
Thanks for the video. My wife and I are thinking about downsizing from a 36 ft Class A. What are your thoughts on the build quality from Winnebago? Did you have any problems with the coach? Leaks, ability to cool or heat the coach, fit and finish, slide function, etc? It sounds like you are overall satisfied, given that you would consider buying another. As mentioned in the comments below, good point about getting a diesel generator. I hadn't thought propane would be as problematic. And yes, full body paint is a good feature in my opinion.

I really like the fiberglass roof they do and overall I feel the build quality is top notch for the cost of the motorhome. Although we did just have a small issue with the DEF tank that caused an issue on a 30 day road trip we just did. ( I will probably post a video about that trip soon.) Nice perspective from a family that has tried different RV Options. Two great points you made are full body paint and a diesel generator. I am still trying to decide on our first RV between Class A and a Sprinter Class C. Leaning toward a Sprinter Class C as more usable with better fuel economy. I was ready to purchase when the dealer had a markdown sale but all were propane generator equipped. 13 gallon talk last 20 hours running AC plus a pain to get propane. Diesel 3200 watt runs 0.3 gallons per hour for AC and easy to find and fill diesel. Enjoy the RV and family
So the Winnebago version of this has a Murphy bed that is queen size and folds up over the sofa. So though not a dedicated bedroom that gives you a real bed with real mattress. Navion and View by Winnebago also gives you the new safety features on the chassis such as blind spot warning, auto collision braking, Lane keep, etc. I think i would go for that before this Itasca.

If you like this model, keep it, you can't get these after 2013 or 2015..i had a 2012 M and I loved that floorplan. The difference between the M and the K is the location of the dinette. The M has the dinette where your counter/ kitchen is and the kitchen is where your dinette is and that enabled the couch to pullout to a full size queen. It was great but my partner didn't like it so we sold it but for me, it would have been perfect. No counter in any unit now, from 2014 onward (any manufacturer) is that big.. Keep this unit. They are great!👍
Hello, great job . Could you give cargo carrying capacity on some of these smaller rigs if they are good. Starting to notice that small class c ‘s of all brands can struggle in the available cargo weight area. 🏋️♀️

We have definitely had to minimize the amount of stuff we take with us on trips and figure out items like smaller chairs and accommodations. Theres always a trade off when talking about Rvs and Boats for sure.
Thanks for the video! We have a Lance 1685 now which we love....had it for a couple years but we think the Navion/View will be our next in a year or two. Seems easier to me. Sometimes the travel trailer is a pain...set up, tear down etc. plus the wife doesn’t drive. She’d drive a Navion! 👍🏻

@@73av8r5 We personally have had no issues. To be honest with you, I haven't heard of any issues with the engine. At least any major issues. So far so good. 🤞. I do think it is a little underpowered for the unit but not ridiculous. I would buy another one with same engine. Hope this helps.

Are my concerns about buying a rig with pop outs (maintenance, worry about failure, etc) valid, or am I overthinking that. Also, the navion/view only has a cargo carrying capacity of 1000-1400. Thanks for watching and commenting. We have had this thing all over the country. Literally. Fully loaded with 2 dogs, gear and 2 adults. I have never felt unsafe or I was putting my family at risk. With that said. We typically don’t tow a whole lot on long trips, or “mountains”. We are very happy with this RV. We think about selling for more room but we just love it so much it would be tough to sell. Best of luck in your search. This one is tough to beat. Easy to drive, reliable, and comfortable. Maybe not the biggest but sometimes bigger isn’t better depending on how you like to RV. Best of luck.
Also Tiffin generally comes with a dangerously low OCCC. Until Mercedes can produce a more robust chassis with greater carrying capacity, Tiffin should consider using an E450 chassis to safely support that beautiful, but heavy, cabinetry.
Hi, I just found your channel. Your views on the diesel generator were interesting. I assume from what you were saying that you can run your generator whilst you are driving? Also, I think you said you have only that vehicle whilst traveling. Do you not find it difficult to park sometimes? Also, getting it ready for traveling whilst set up at camp, is that not a little tedious?
Thanks for commenting. We can actually park this thing just about anywhere. Its very nimble. We really like the size while traveling. Tearing down and setting up can be a bit tedious if we are at camp for a couple days. We love the size and the ability not to have to bring a toad with us if we don't want to. Its all about trade offs though. When we go to Florida and set up for awhile we will bring another car with us so we dont have to tear down camp at all.
Nice family ... I couldn’t understand what you said the first thing you wanted was. ... Those type of convertible beds (not dedicated) look uncomfortable.... That big slide out helps enlarge it. .... Is that your house in the background? Very nice. Makes me think I can’t afford a rig like that.

Squarehead Coughlin Thanks for watching and commenting. I think fresh is around 39 gallon Black, grey around 35 each. *Estimated* Yep 100 watt solar. If we did a whole lot of boondocking I would have to do a minimum of 400 watt. 100 doesn’t do much. Even in Arizona or Florida.
The other model similar to this is the 'M'. The counter is on the side where your table is which gives lots of counter work space. Then the table is next to the couch. I'm guessing yours is about a 2011 or 2012?

I like the small size and the Mercedes but not sure how it does with a toad. A 3,000 to 4,000 pound car may be a little much for that engine/chassis once you have the RV loaded with people and stuff. Do you notice a significant difference in mileage, power, driving when pulling a car?
Hi Steve , Thanks for watching and commenting. I actually never had a toad. I looked into towing my Grand Cherokee but set up was going to be over $ 5,000 . Just wasn't interested in spending that much with the type of Rving we do. I do have a lot of experience with towing lots of different trailers with different types of vehicles and I am sure it would make a big difference in mileage and overall performance. If you like that floorplan keep it cuz they don't make them anymore. Anything newer than 2013 has gone cheap, glossy, plastic and the layouts suck. Navions are great. Anything Winnebago or Tiffin are the ONLY manufacturers to purchase. Leisure Travel Van is also worth considering. Higher end finishes, same chassis as Navion. Lots of models to choose from. enjoy!

They seem to be very nice. I personally do not have any experience with them. So I cant speak for reliability or build quality. And being a family of 4. We need the extra cab over bed for us. For 1 or 2 people I'm sure they could offer plenty of room and work quite well. But for us we will have to stick with what we have. Thanks so much watching and commenting.

Some places we go we can have access to everything we need with bikes. 2.) it’s small enough that when we do need a car we take the camper. 3.) We like to boat as well. 4.). Cost. To do it right we were going to spend 5k to have the hook up done. We can rent cars for a long time for 5k. 5. Keeps us planted more and enjoying our down time instead of running around in a car like we do back home. :) Happy 2020. Safe travels to you.

Thanks for the generator advice. Something I've been pondering for my View when I find the right one. Big advantage when the chassis fuel is the same.
We have a 2012 Itasca Reyo 25T (Navion "V") w/twin beds. It is exactly the same chassis as the Navion except it is a mini Class A (the Winnebago version is called Via). Full body paint, diesel generator, driver's side door. The Reyo was made through the 2016 model year and the Via through the 2018 model year. You may want to consider this model when you upgrade. We love ours also but we will give you some balancing negatives, too, which would also apply to View/Navion. We just moved to Florida and the laminate on the tables is literally falling off because of the humidity. Our full body paint came with a plastic diamond shield and after a year-and-a-half (we bought ours in 4/17) it became cruddy with mold in the glue between the plastic and the paint. Expensive or labor intensive to remove - look for one without this option if possible. But our last negative is the fuel, and we question if you haven't seen this problem also? The Mercedes diesel runs on #2 or B5. More times than we'd like to admit, we have come to stations that now only carry B20 which we can only use in an emergency. The entire state of Minnesota requires at least B20 or B30 fuel which means our fuel is not available there (we found this out the hard way). With environmental laws changing, stations are converting to B20 (Flying J, Pilot, Luvs, etc.). This is our main concern with the Mercedes diesel which may lead us to trading it. What is your position on this?
Move out of Minnesota, B20 or B30 is BAD for diesel engines. If you buy a newer Mercedes motorhome you will have a LOT of problems with the emission control system. We have a 2014 Mercedes Sprinter "Winnebago View". We brought it new and we have spent over $5,000 dollars replacing different things related to emissions on it. When the computer tells the engine to shut down because of a bad emissions sensor it stops running and has to towed to the Mercedes dealer. One time it was a 120 mile tow and another time about 150 miles. The dealer doesn't have the parts to repair emissions problems so they have to be ordered. One time the DEF tank developed a stress crack and there was not a replacement tank in the entire USA. The tank had to be ordered from Germany. Expect 2-3 weeks in the shop.
Almost all the big trucks stuck on the side of the road with their flashers on are disabled because of emission problems. Large trucks spend an average of 3 days a month out of service because of this.
My advice is to stick with what you have. Use the B20 if you have to and deal with any repairs as needed. You could try buying diesel at a Cenex station. Many of the Cenex stations sell diesel to farmers and their tractors are not meant to run on B20. They may have straight diesel - w/o B20. You could also try using a blend that many stations have of 50% Diesel #1 and 50% Diesel #2. That would reduce the B20 50% since I don't think they use any corn alcohol in Diesel #1. Just an idea.
You guys just made my mind that's what I want I think you said it was a 19 feet or 20 feet Travel RV and it's just me and my son and it would be perfect for us. I don't know if I could get used to that round stink but maybe I could but I love it I looked at Vans and I looked at RVs I've looked at everything for over 24 hours and you guys have made my mind up this is the thing that I want . I love everything about it and I like it because it's not too big and hard to drive . I'm a woman of 68 and my son is 30 something years old and I think it would be perfect so when I sell my house I'm going to look for one just like you have. I say a prayer for me because I have lung cancer and if I don't get over this I will not be going anywhere that hopefully to heaven. So thank you very much I dream is always to be traveling or living in the woods and this was one of my dreams to come true before I leave this earth thank you very much. And made the Lord God be with both of you all and your family and of course your dog we have a dog too. I lost my husband in 2006 from Agent Orange and now it's just me and my son
The wife and I went through the same down-sizing as you folks. We had a few large fifth wheels and travel trailers with large trucks. We now have a 2014 Navion and we love it. We always tow a small car which isn't a problem at all. We can still get into regular gas stations for fill-ups without problems as we had with large RV's. The reason for always towing a car is because we don't want to break camp every time we go out and about. Once we got used to living in a 25' RV and dealing with less room and storage, we fell in love with this RV.

Good afternoon. Thank you very much for your Winnebago review! This looks like a really great rig. My wife and I will be doing 1-2 week trips for the next 3-5 years. So, we have been mostly considering one of those small couples travel trailers (20-22ft). Whatever we get, we'll order it after the New Year's so as to have it by the spring or summer. We live in the mountains of CO. So, probably 50% of our camping would be in national forest campgrounds (with no facilities) or BLM lands. We would definitely want to mitigate the lack of electricity with some solar capability, as well as a small generator to back that up.
So, over the last couple of weeks, we've expanded our consideration to one of these small class c sprinter van-esque type rigs. We have 3 main requirements, regardless of what we get; 1) queen bed with access on both sides 2) a separate place to sit in case 1 is in bed, and 3) a dry bathroom. So far, we've liked the murphy bed layouts.
QUESTION: Knowing that some of our national forest or blm locations will be down dirt roads and such (hopefully you've been out to CO or another western state to get an idea of that); as well as boondocking spots will be on dirt roads, do you feel that these sprinter van type rvs will meet those requirements? Or, recommend sticking with one of those smaller travel trailers with a modest lift (either factory or aftermarket)?

I agree about the diesel generator, but if you are stuck with a propane generator, you should get an "Extend-a-Stay" hookup so you can supplement your tank with a regular portable propane tank. Just have to find a place to stick it in the basement. Save it for emergencies.

You didn't tell how the refrigerator runs off of Gas Propane electric what and do you have solar panels on your roof. I've looked at hundreds as RVs and yours is perfect for us and I know it would be perfect for me and my son. I was wondering about solar also. You need an inverter and batteries. Thinking you can rig it so the alternator charges the batteries also. So much to think about!

Oh, and love the dog. We have two standard poodles and they are always with us when traveling.
Currently on a trip and actually switched to a Honda with auxiliary fuel tank for convenience of gas. Had an issue with LP Generator and didn't want to repair and fight to find propane anymore. We leave dog in camper some so we were going through lots of LP $$$. Diesel is the only way to go in my opinion.

Their dogs are not cheap but are well taken care of and looked after from birth. We did not even need to potty train Tuck, and got him at 8 weeks old.
Very nice Rig. The only thing I dislike is the generator not being on the driver's side. Less noise and exhaust away from the party-area side of the RV is a must.

I dream about a B+ or C rv with a full bathtub though, since you could load up on spring or rv park water, and soak in a tub in pure water on certain days during travel, maybe even with a window. Seems like that would have to be a modification in B+'s or C sized RV's.

To your reply about consideration of the new 'D' model. Sit on the couch. We liked that model too until I sat on the couch. I liked the Tiffin Wayfarer as it comes in white however it can't take any weight. And again, the couch is too vertical. They give you an extra seatbelt but after you put water and fuel, the weight allowance has been maxed out. Too bad Cuz they are quite nice too. Upscale from Nation. We ended up with Leisure Travel van Unity, FX. 2018.
You seem like a nice couple interested in teaching and training, thank you. You mentioned several things I would not have considered, again, thank you. Three points of entry/exit was an excellent point for the reasons mentioned. Let me ask, is this ideal for one person and dogs with the occasional guest? We have this model in a 2007 and bought it new. We have not found one we like better. We tow a 5 speed manual Honda Fit and have loads of fun. Your slide is a little longer than ours and I like that. Interested in your air mattress comment.

I have some mixed feelings. It's nice that the hump over the cab is still available as a second bedroom when more and more brands are stuffing a TV in there (why?!) Also, some similar RVs can't swivel the front seat because the floor isn't flush with the cockpit floor. I like the floor plans as Winnebago has plenty of experience in making a good layout. They clearly updated the cockpit since it looks like a Chrysler-badged Mercedes (For a reason: Mercedes owns Chrysler). The kitchen is very spacious and it's good that they put the STOVE against the back wall. When you have it next to the seats, they can get greasy. It's good they didn't skimp on the sink, I've seen some that were nearly useless because they're too shallow.
The bad: the interior appearance. It clashes and looks like they combined the 1980s with the early 2000s. Why can't they just put a few Italians and Germans on a plane and let them consult for two measly hours? Every single RV I've seen suffers from That 70s Show Syndrome. They look like they're used even if brand new! Golly, put a few wavy lines where the countertops flow into the walls of the bathroom. Have a few angled doors on the upper cabinets with Euro push button drawer pulls. I went to an RV show two years ago and although there were some nice ones, the majority of them looked like they were designed by people who couldn't get their minds out of 1983...

Tell Wifey the InstaPot is a fantastic way to cook meals. My son just started cooking and ordered it last week. It is really useful! It also comes with recipes people put more recipes on line. Just be sure no one removes the lid before the pressure escapes. It shows you when to remove lid.

We have a 2011 View Profile for 6 years now. We love all the things you mentioned. For additional storage we have a large collapsible heavy duty rubberized bag on a cargo platform in the rear. It really is the best accessory for this RV.
We also try to camp where there’s electric hook ups and rarely do boon-docking. Thx for the tip on full body paint.

Just looking at our original options sheet on our 2012 Itasca Reyo (same chassis as Navion/View). The cost for full body paint then was $5,166 from the factory.
yes, totally agree on that low OCCC on that Wayfarer. The reason I didn't get one! However, Travel Leisure is built on the same chasis and does not have this challenge. they have a generous 4000lb capacity to max out at around 15,000lbs. Given water at 8lbs/gal and fuel (diesel, in this case) at about the same (7.1/US gal) that can quickly add a few hundred lbs, plus minimally 300lbs of people, add to that grey water and black water holding and your coach is schleping an additional 1000lbs before even adding food, clothes, and other accoutrements. yea, Tiffin kinda blew that design, or their indicated figures are off in their brochures.

Hi, we bought a 2006 about two years ago and had it completely repainted due to that decal problem. It only had about 40k on it and we got it cheap so was worth it. Plus now it's under cover all the time except when camping of course. The main reason was to accommodate two grand kids, and yes, it's perfect for two adults and two kids. On the shower, I installed a controlled temperature faucet. It was hell trying to get the temperature right when taking a navy shower. The other problem is the short space between the front of the toilet and wall. If you lean forward a little, you'll hit it. I think you'll find you have 18 gallons of propane, or about 72 lbs. Mine always reads almost out, when it's really about 1/3 full still. Plus with propane you don't faces gummed carbs if not run for a while. A lot of people keep getting bigger and bigger rigs. If the grandkids ever quite going, I think I'd go back to a 19-21'er, just for the easy driving and parking.

We love the size of this for traveling. But when we are set up for long periods it gets a little small with 4 plus now 2 dogs.
Still working for us though. Solid units for sure.
I can’t understand why some people go really big. Almost would make more sense to buy a home and have something that appreciates instead of depreciates.

jorgensen8 you’re right the toilet area is really tight. How is yours for power and mileage. I have an 08 chassis 154hp pretty much a dog on long hills and about 13 mpg.
@@fordracer1415 We get about 15-16mpg. Power is ok. It's only on the steepest highway grades (7%) that we can't keep up with the cars. But we're still quite a bit faster than the trucks. I'd rather have it that way and get better performance at the pump. I think the camper would do 80mph if pushed, but we never go over 65.

I’ve never owned a class C diesel RV, so if possible a little more information on the Mercedes diesel road handling. mileage. Range. Hill climbing ability on cruise control. Etc. Thanks
First off.. Thanks for watching and commenting. We actually just got back from about a 7000 mile trip out west and back. I was a little apprehensive at first about how the smaller Diesel engine would perform, but during and after our trip I was extremely pleased. As far as mileage we have experienced anything from 12 to 16.5mpg. Depending on the type of terrain we were in or how strong of headwind in the midwest. At those numbers we never experienced a time where we felt we were not able to make it to the next fuel station. I did carry an additional 5 gallon of diesel on most of the trip, but never had to use it. Hill climbs were good as well. I am not the type of driver that always has to have cruise on so I cant necessarily say how great it does climbing hills with cruise. Overall we are very happy with the performance of the engine and transmission. And Mercedes newer models have more gears and a better ride. Looking forward to upgrading someday, but for now we are content.

Thanks for the video. My wife and I are thinking about downsizing from a 36 ft Class A. What are your thoughts on the build quality from Winnebago? Did you have any problems with the coach? Leaks, ability to cool or heat the coach, fit and finish, slide function, etc? It sounds like you are overall satisfied, given that you would consider buying another. As mentioned in the comments below, good point about getting a diesel generator. I hadn't thought propane would be as problematic. And yes, full body paint is a good feature in my opinion.

I really like the fiberglass roof they do and overall I feel the build quality is top notch for the cost of the motorhome. Nice perspective from a family that has tried different RV Options. Two great points you made are full body paint and a diesel generator. I am still trying to decide on our first RV between Class A and a Sprinter Class C. Leaning toward a Sprinter Class C as more usable with better fuel economy. I was ready to purchase when the dealer had a markdown sale but all were propane generator equipped. 13 gallon talk last 20 hours running AC plus a pain to get propane. Diesel 3200 watt runs 0.3 gallons per hour for AC and easy to find and fill diesel.

So the Winnebago version of this has a Murphy bed that is queen size and folds up over the sofa. So though not a dedicated bedroom that gives you a real bed with real mattress. Navion and View by Winnebago also gives you the new safety features on the chassis such as blind spot warning, auto collision braking, Lane keep, etc. I think i would go for that before this Itasca.

If you like this model, keep it, you can't get these after 2013 or 2015..i had a 2012 M and I loved that floorplan. The difference between the M and the K is the location of the dinette. The M has the dinette where your counter/ kitchen is and the kitchen is where your dinette is and that enabled the couch to pullout to a full size queen. It was great but my partner didn't like it so we sold it but for me, it would have been perfect. No counter in any unit now, from 2014 onward (any manufacturer) is that big.. Keep this unit. They are great!👍

Hello, great job . Could you give cargo carrying capacity on some of these smaller rigs if they are good. Starting to notice that small class c ‘s of all brands can struggle in the available cargo weight area. 🏋️♀️

We have definitely had to minimize the amount of stuff we take with us on trips and figure out items like smaller chairs and accommodations. Theres always a trade off when talking about Rvs and Boats for sure.

Thanks for the video! We have a Lance 1685 now which we love....had it for a couple years but we think the Navion/View will be our next in a year or two. Seems easier to me. Sometimes the travel trailer is a pain...set up, tear down etc. plus the wife doesn’t drive. She’d drive a Navion! 👍🏻

@@73av8r5 We personally have had no issues. To be honest with you, I haven't heard of any issues with the engine. At least any major issues. So far so good. 🤞. I do think it is a little underpowered for the unit but not ridiculous. I would buy another one with same engine. Hope this helps.

I appreciate your angle for the review. We are looking at purchasing our first vehicle and the view/navion is/was on our short list a couple of times. I have a couple of questions. Are my concerns about buying a rig with pop outs (maintenance, worry about failure, etc) valid, or am I overthinking that. Also, the navion/view only has a cargo carrying capacity of 1000-1400. Should that be a concern. I have a family of 4. thanks

We have had this thing all over the country. Literally. Fully loaded with 2 dogs, gear and 2 adults. I have never felt unsafe or I was putting my family at risk.
With that said. We typically don’t tow a whole lot on long trips, or “mountains”.
We are very happy with this RV.
We think about selling for more room but we just love it so much it would be tough to sell.
Best of luck in your search. This one is tough to beat. Easy to drive, reliable, and comfortable. Maybe not the biggest but sometimes bigger isn’t better depending on how you like to RV. Best of luck.
Tiffin Wayfarer comes standard with a diesel generator.
Also Tiffin generally comes with a dangerously low OCCC. Until Mercedes can produce a more robust chassis with greater carrying capacity, Tiffin should consider using an E450 chassis to safely support that beautiful, but heavy, cabinetry.

Hi, I just found your channel. Your views on the diesel generator were interesting. I assume from what you were saying that you can run your generator whilst you are driving? Also, I think you said you have only that vehicle whilst traveling. Do you not find it difficult to park sometimes? Also, getting it ready for traveling whilst set up at camp, is that not a little tedious?
Thanks for commenting. We can actually park this thing just about anywhere. Its very nimble. We really like the size while traveling. Tearing down and setting up can be a bit tedious if we are at camp for a couple days. We love the size and the ability not to have to bring a toad with us if we don't want to. Its all about trade offs though. When we go to Florida and set up for awhile we will bring another car with us so we dont have to tear down camp at all.

I actually replaced the original AC.
The one I have in is a 13,500 and it seems to do well.
We don’t need it super cold to be comfortable though.
But we never had a problem and we have camped in Florida a lot. And the southwest.

Thanks for watching and commenting. We do run 100 watt of solar. It helps a little. I would recommend at least 400 watt if someone was to rely on solar. I will definitely do more solar on next rig.

What brand was the twin air mattress that you recommend?

If we did a whole lot of boondocking I would have to do a minimum of 400 watt.
100 doesn’t do much. Even in Arizona or Florida.
The other model similar to this is the 'M'. The counter is on the side where your table is which gives lots of counter work space. Then the table is next to the couch. I'm guessing yours is about a 2011 or 2012?

I think if we bought a newer one we may go to the D floor plan with the Murphy bed.
We just love how the coach feels like a 32 ft coach when there is no bed to worry about.

@@blainemills987 I have a question , i saw some older winnebagos i really like called the rialta or something on a VW chassis, are these on VW chassis? they get 20 mpg, kinda like a delux custom van camper
I like the small size and the Mercedes but not sure how it does with a toad. A 3,000 to 4,000 pound car may be a little much for that engine/chassis once you have the RV loaded with people and stuff. Do you notice a significant difference in mileage, power, driving when pulling a car?
Hi Steve , Thanks for watching and commenting. I actually never had a toad. I looked into towing my Grand Cherokee but set up was going to be over $ 5,000 . Just wasn't interested in spending that much with the type of Rving we do. I do have a lot of experience with towing lots of different trailers with different types of vehicles and I am sure it would make a big difference in mileage and overall performance. It does great with nothing behind it though.
I will be towing an enclosed trailer to Florida soon and may post a video about how it did. Thanks again for watching.

If you like that floorplan keep it cuz they don't make them anymore. Anything newer than 2013 has gone cheap, glossy, plastic and the layouts suck. Navions are great. Anything Winnebago or Tiffin are the ONLY manufacturers to purchase. Leisure Travel Van is also worth considering. Higher end finishes, same chassis as Navion. Lots of models to choose from. enjoy!

Would you consider going for a coach house?
They seem to be very nice. I personally do not have any experience with them. So I cant speak for reliability or build quality. And being a family of 4. We need the extra cab over bed for us. For 1 or 2 people I'm sure they could offer plenty of room and work quite well. But for us we will have to stick with what we have. Thanks so much watching and commenting.

Yes it does. There is 2 spots on both sides for drinks.
The ones on dash work pretty well. Center are pretty useless.

We get around 15-16 mpg on flat roads and about 13mpg on hills and mountains.

This size Camper would work for a single person like myself. I just can't help thinking about how you have waste sitting in the vehicle as you're living and driving in it.

Yes they usually do as options. The older ones as well. Dealers seem to stock a lot more propane due to cost. Its around a 4k option for Diesel Generator.
Depending on the type Rving someone does it could be well worth it.

We actually do not pull a toad.
Couple reasons.
1.) Some places we go we can have access to everything we need with bikes.
2.) it’s small enough that when we do need a car we take the camper.
3.) We like to boat as well.
4.). Cost. To do it right we were going to spend 5k to have the hook up done.
We can rent cars for a long time for 5k.
5. Keeps us planted more and enjoying our down time instead of running around in a car like we do back home. :)
