We treat the squib issue as a safety matter in the UK until shown clear. We also got rid of 'he knows what he's doing' as some clearly didn't, so the sport is protected as much as possible from an incident by going to the lowest denominator. Range Officer to confirm 'safe' before continuing.
The squib load deal is clear as mud. Probably wouldn't hurt to do a video on the rules of pair fire. And, about the 45 second clock, when Joe's 45 was up, he was correctly issued a 0. But, if Norm had not fired in the next 45 seconds, would he have also been given a 0? Hard to do when there is not an actual clock for the competitors to see.
I was thought the V2 rules was 5 mins to repair a malfunction. A malfunction in the Fullbore rules is a failure to fire due to the rifle or defective ammo. But, hey, I could be wrong. RIFLE MALFUNCTIONS 12.1. A VALID RIFLE MALFUNCTION IS DESCRIBED AS A MECHANICAL COMPONENT HAS BROKEN, CEASED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, THE RIFLE HAS BECOME INOPERABLE OR UNSAFE THROUGH NO INTENTIONAL ACT. AN INACCURATE RIFLE IS NOT A VALID MALFUNCTION. 12.2. WHEN A RIFLE MALFUNCTION OCCURS, NOTIFY THE RO, IN THE CASE OF A VALID RIFLE MALFUNCTION THE RO SHALL START A 5-MINUTE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT PERIOD. IF AFTER FIVE (5) MINUTES A REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT HAS NOT OCCURRED, THE STAGE SHALL BE FORFEITED. 12.3. REPAIRS MUST BE APPROVED BY THE RO, FAILURE TO GET APPROVAL, PRIOR TO FIRING A REPAIRED RIFLE MAY CAUSE EJECTION FROM THE TOURNAMENT AT THE DISCRETION OF THE MATCH DIRECTOR. All I know for sure is that the V2 is the finest match that I have had the privilege to shoot! Win, lose or draw I am looking forward to next year. There are no easy matches at the V2 - highly recommend it! Joe Fairley
We have learned a lot from this incident and have discussed it in depth to make sure it is handled properly next time it happens. You shot great and we look forward to seeing you on the line next year.
Great stuff guys! I look forward to every video. Can't wait for the next one!!!
Thank you, we appreciate your support!

Very tight match. Congratulations to Norm! This illustrates how narrow the tune is on these rifles. The only change is the heat of the barrel.
Fun stuff fellas. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Did I Miss out on the details of the Rigs, Jo & John are using? Would you kindly enlighten us on Specs please
If Joe had a squib ( he pulled his bolt and checked) how did he take another shot without clearing his barrel? Was that part edited out?
Yes. There was a part missing because we rewound the video to see him fire again. He cleared the gun before firing.
