I am glad you kept this angel, who fit into your family so easily. I wonder if his short tail was a birth defect, and a cruel & evil person threw him onto the freeway. No other explanation.
I have seen a male cat roaming the countryside near me, with no tail. He has impregnated my female cats. Rescued my neighbors cat (he was going to shoot her after she killed one of his chicks) and she ended up being pregnant with 3 bob-tailed boys (so he is the dad). So some cats come by it naturally. I rescued a tiny gray kitten from a busy intersection here in Houston a few years ago. Hopped out of our vehicle and ran and scooped him up, my husband didn’t even know what was happening! We couldn’t keep him because my husband’s allergies are maxed out with the two we have, but the kitty was adopted the same day! The intersection was dangerous enough, it’s incredibly dangerous to run across a busy freeway.

I would like to make a few notes here for anyone who may see this. EDIT: Title has been changed, which is nice to see! Good stuff. Point below was made prior to title change VVV Firstly, Marc, the rescuer of Dodger is not a woman. He is in fact a man, and goes by he/him or they/them pronouns. I am unsure why the video says "woman", because I assumed The Dodo communicates with the people they post videos of, and would know to either put "Man", "Person", "Samaritan", etc. Perhaps Marc actually was okay with them using "woman" so there would be less confusion, but I am unsure. Some people are confused about who "Marc" is though, so I thought it would be good to clarify here that he is the rescuer. Secondly, others are confused about the tail being shorter later in the video. Marc explained in a TikTok that Dodger's tail was completely shattered and the best option was to have it be amputated, so yes, later in the video he has a shorter tail because of medical reasons. In the TikTok it even shows young Dodger with a shaved rump after his surgery. I am unsure why Dodo left this out, but my best guess is that it is because they want to pump out very short content these days. Thirdly, and lastly, the people upset with Marc recording the beginning have already been heard by Marc, and he will not address it further. He says in another TikTok that he does not know why he decided to record it, but he agrees that he shouldn't have. The experience was stressful, and his memory of it is very unclear, and likely he would have been unable to accurately recall it if he had not recorded it (This is my own assumption) which is a typical trauma/post-stress response. The berating however, is quite unneeded, as he already knows, and agrees with this sentiment. This whole event was a fast, impulsive one, and while dangerous, it is good that it went smoothly. He already knows that it was quite careless, so there is no need to repeat it, as I am sure if it were to happen again, he would take more pre-cautions. I hope that clears some things up.

You weren’t about to let kitty go! 😂 I specifically came here to tell you thank you so much! The kitty is in love with you now!!! God bless you and I thank you again for your hero rescue! 🌹 🌹 🐈⬛!!!
He calmed down so quickly. Poor kitten must've been so frightened on that highway!
Very cute story. I'm thankful for people like this girl who do what they have to do to save an animal. Dodger is a great name for him, too. I wonder what happened to his tail?
I wonder about his poor tail, too. Hopefully it had to be partially removed for medical reasons after his rescue; like a cat of mine whose tail got infected near the tip.
The tail was broken and wouldn't heal properly. The vets advised amputation. I'm lucky enough to know this amazing human being😊
You are a hero, thank the lord for people like you.
Amen!
I'm so happy you did this he knows someone really loves him ❤🇨🇦
He didn't get on the highway by himself. Some a$$hole dropped him off. How cruel can someone be? Thank you and bless you for saving him risking your own life to do so. You are an angel - truly.
First of all praise the Lord you weren’t killed in traffic ! 🙏 That was the true meaning of RESCUE, a real life saving rescue of the doomed kitten! I’m glad you were born !!!
Am so glad that you stayed with him. By watching the video..i knew ULL stay with him. Thanks for being kind to the animals. God bless you
As vehicles zoom past, kitten thinks: "Yeah, I know you got ME, lady, but who's got YOU?!!"
Lol
Your guardian angel was looking over you and the little one. You brought tears to my eyes at your brave and selfless act. Many blessings to you!
thank you so much❤
Need more people like her. That kitten doesn't want to be bothered but is in danger.
Oh my goodness Dodger is absolutely ADORABLE!!!! He was theoretically in the wrong place being on the highway but in reality he was in the reaction right place at the exact right time 😊❤
Thank you. Amen 🙏
Thank you for saving. She scared and wouldnt have survived. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
Bravo young lady for saving this little precious soul. Only goodhearted people know how to make the right decisions in life.
Thank God you saved this precious little angel!❤😻
Aweee so glad you got to him before he got hit
Beautiful! I love that she kept him! ❤❤❤❤ in a world that is hard to live in.... there are happy ever afters.
My hero 😭imagine not only spotting a tiny kitten on the highway but having the guts to stop and save him
Bless him and bless you
Love in the purist image
Awesomely Handsome
Cuteness Overload
Sending him all my Love and millions of kisses and Cuddles and hugs and wishes for long healthy and joyful life together forever 🐈💜🐾🙏🌹👑
You're a hero for saving the sweet little fur baby's life, and giving him a loving forever home.
As soon as you heard his little meow, it was obvious that he was going to be a foster fail. How could anyone give up this precious little angel?
God bless you
Holy Cow! You both were in real danger❣Now in big love ...
All I could do is smile
Thank you kind it
Yes! I was praying he would be a FOSTER FAILURE!😆 He’s SO beautiful! And that tail, perfect! Many, many thanks for literally risking your life AND SAVING HIS! Bless you! Much affection from the city of Detroit!
The tail perfect, you mean it was earlier or as it is cutted off?
That was a dangerous stunt to be pulling! Please take your life seriously, and wait until there are few cars on the road. A kitten paralyzed with fear isn’t going anywhere when it’s filled with moving cars. But it was a brave thing to do, glad everything turned out alright.
Blessing on this wonderful lady for saving this dear terrified kitten.🙏🥰❤🧡💜💙
Saw that foster fail coming from a mile away! Anybody that heroically rescues a terrified gorgeous lil spicy bundle like that could never give him up! You were meant to be. ❤
Super cute cat! Loaded with personality.
Imagine if she put her phone down for two second and used both hands. It's just lucky that poor baby didn't bolt. NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE FILMED. I know she did a good deed but had to make sure everyone else sees her do it. I'm glad the kitten is safe.
THANK YOU FOR BEING A RESCUE-Angel AND GRABBING THAT SWEET BABY.
ITS A MIRACLE THAT YOU GOT IN TIME.
YOU MADE MY DAY!!
Allah düşmüşe, gurabaya, çaresize, muhtaca yardım edenden razı olsun, sayılarını arttırsın, ecrini misli ile her iki cihanda versin, muhtaçlara ve onlarla ilgilenenlere her daim yardım eylesin, onları korusun, kollasın, her türlü ihtiyaçlarını, sıkıntılarını, dertlerini gidersin, hiç birini çaresiz bırakmasın inşaallah (amin).
Thats such a sweet story 😢
God bless ❤❤❤thank you so much ❤❤❤
Respect to the woman who rescued and adopted him 😻🐈🐈⬛
Oh my god can you even imagine how terrified that poor baby must have been!
Love this woman!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for saving him, keeping him & loving him. 😺❤️🙂❤️
You ROCK for dodging traffic to save this little guy ! And the bond formed is out of love ❤😊
Thanks ❤
I'm glad this tiny kitten was rescued! What a dangerous place to be left by cruel owners. And let's also cheer the unsung heroes out there rescuing cats and dogs daily, who aren't concerned with capturing their work on video to post to their Tik Tok feeds for endless compliments, views and clout.
I wish people would notice that the kitty has a long tail in the beginning of the video and then later in the video it has a Bobtail 🤔
😱 wow so glad you both didn't get squashed on that busy road., bless you for saving him and giving him a great forever home with fur siblings. Cracking good video thanks for sharing 💖😁
There's always room for one more cat ❤
You have such courage to stop on the highway and save this kitty!
You are amazing❤
Hero!
That's great but it's always strange that the act of whipping out our phone has become an unconscious multitask.
My hero!!! Thank you
Love these cat rescue stories i wouldn't want Doger to leave if that was me. Beautiful 😢
As a native Texan she is brave af. I don’t like driving on I-45
You’re a hero! The people who left him there are scum. It’s soon time for a new cat here as well 🐱😻
