I was playing against idra and his friend in archon mode and they were both grandmaster and I had a silver rank ally and we beat him and he raged so hard I will never forget how mad he was
I can totally agree Idra's attitude is completly HORID. But you can't deny he has achieved more than your average starcraft player and is one of the best. His playskill is rediculous. If he had a better attitude he'd be god mode.
@Gibsonlpt This is from a patch loooong ago before u needed to just to select and diselect units and change the checkpoint of the CC/hatch/nexus but now u need commands like movin ur units :)
@molibya not to ..be difficult or anything... but SC has been the largest sport in south Korea since the release of SC 1.. so yeah.. this is, and has been a sport now, and for quite a while
Thats actually a very different insult that you dont normally hear, which is a nice change. Idra is angry, that doesnt make him immature in my books. But you could easily say anyone under age 25 is immature, because it is pretty much true.
Problem with cheesy tactic is what was shown here: good player can counter it easily. At the beginning terran had advantage - quick attack with helions was countered nicely by one spinecravler and two zerglings. Instead switching to marines he started pumping more helions. He sealed his fate when mutas attacked and he had no air units - although at the begining when viking attacked overlord i said "Yes, but why just one?"
terran has flagships like the Hyperion that can warp through space instantly :) all you really need is to send in 6 SCVs and give em 450 minerals, (which becomes a CC and some left over 50 mins for the start)
What? U'm a high masters Zerg player and I can tell you that Zerg A-Moves the most. It's Protoss that A-Moves the least. (Hence why everyone only says "Deathball" Toss - A-Move. They have to require blink micro/ff's/guardian shield etc during the early game and late game. lLate game too,but their late game is over exaggerated herp] Terran A-Moves a lot but they require a ton of splitting/stimming/sieging/studder step)
Against Terran there is a lot of A-move, but that's not all it is at all. You can't A-roll somebody until you've got them out of position or taken out the bigger units like tanks or thors or colossus etc. Doing that requires a lot of skill in micro and harassment.
If he had a better attitude he would be just like any other pro that doesnt make it into the finals. His attitude is what makes him stand out and has generated a huge fanbase for him and SC2 community. Who the hell cares about seeing more generic Koreans? I dont care how well they play, pretty much all of them have boring robotic like personalities, except maybe MC. Idra is raw and blunt, doesnt give a shit. He brings an element of badassery to SC2.
Wow, that s an inventive idea and a really good one too, since even a little boy could do that little trash talk. And yes, I would prefer it since it is not a real job :P
exactly! it sucks that it's him and vibe of all people though. like seriously, america's "best" seeded players aren't even on the same level as stephano
@iSH4DOWZ If you want to run it on a PC, it's quite impossible that it doesnt run. I have a PC with a quite old video card and just 1 GB RAM and during the matches it runs perfectly. But it's critical on laptops ;)
People support him because he's funny to watch him rage. This isn't about maturity, it's about entertainment. Is it "mature" to refuse to cheer for the wrestler that freaks out and beats up the referee? Silly goose, it's all for entertainment, and it works! Lol
WTF? WHAT DO THEY DO UNTIL 2 MINUTES TO HAVE HIGH APM LIKE THAT? I MEAN 200 AVERAGE APM ON THE 1ST STAGE OF THE GAME WHERE U JUST DO DRONES AND SCVS? WTF????
Oh you are so wrong it hurts my head. Maturity isn't decided by one's age, maturity is decided by one's state of mind and mental well being. IdrA is a disturbed person who is so insecure he feels the need to throw out ridiculously pathetic insults. You have no grasp of immaturity if you still believe he is not.
Actually it's kind of funny. But alot of it has to do with inexperienced players "cheesing" wins. The pro players generally expect a certain level of play, but random people will go extremely cheesy rush builds etc and it catches the pro's, who are working on build orders to play other pro players, completely off guard. You would think that the pro should still win, but there are just to many variables.
i was there, took a pic with idra.
crazy that its been 11 years. the hay day of SC2 as an esport
I was playing against idra and his friend in archon mode and they were both grandmaster and I had a silver rank ally and we beat him and he raged so hard I will never forget how mad he was
oh lord... 9 months ago... SC2 has evolved so much in such a short time...
I wish IdrA comes back to big league of sc2. He's been gone forever now.. We miss you IdrA!
@elusuario989 idras name is greg fields, Gracken is his nickname taken from greg. I dunno how it came to be but thats what it is.
I can totally agree Idra's attitude is completly HORID. But you can't deny he has achieved more than your average starcraft player and is one of the best. His playskill is rediculous. If he had a better attitude he'd be god mode.
@MrNoobslayer123 in korea they pronounced his name, greg, as "grack" thus came to be the name "Gracken."
heh, i love how the map review chick was talking about high yeilds. but looking at the naturals.
@MrXPropaneX
agreed. Used to day9's crazy humor and helpful advice in his show, but I didnt know how well of a commentator he was until now.
Those guys are really calm and civilised :P, I wish more than 5% of XBL was like that.

Idra does have a slightly hot temper, but this is undeniable; he is a very good player.
game 2 starts at 13:35
the game starts at 3:39 to save you time
@cmgreen4
Good idea, they should probably buff hellions too since I never see them in protoss matchups.
I'd love to see Idra do an IQ test only for him to ragequit that aswell.
IdrA is a Talented player, and has helped me inprove
@BrosephMG almost all the pros are in grandmasters league, so everyone they face is basically a pro, or a reallyyyyy good sc2 player
@Gibsonlpt they move thay're mouses like they'r having a hepileptic (is that spelled right?) attack
i love the background noise
i miss him... its funny to see him rage :P
Anyone notice the the caster that isn't Day9 sounds exactly like Kyle Gas?
Yeah, Idra is back. He's #1 in the GM ladder (whenever I last checked).
not anymore
terran has flagships like the Hyperion that can warp through space instantly :) all you really need is to send in 6 SCVs and give em 450 minerals, (which becomes a CC and some left over 50 mins for the start)
whats going on in the background haha. sounds more fun to watch than this at the beginning
@sigoyy Duh, it's starcraft. What else were you expecting...
most likely something happening on the Halo game or one of the other screens. Maybe call of duty, all the stuff happens in the same room
@Lightwish01
Day9 > Husky or HD for sure. Also Day 9 has the first hand pro gaming experience.
never seen or played starcraft before and when i watched this i was like...wtf....O.O
i really wanna play this game... i have it but havnt got a good enough video card :(
Don't lie you would prefer a little boy, Mr. ThePriest96.
"give a cheer for idra!"
*silence*
@StSIZpanX Thank you

whoever selected the commercial points for this video will be judged
@The7thFold how are they stupid? Just because someone loses to mutas it becomes stupid??
dude if you have never watched starcraft before then it is one of the most confusing things..ever..
IDRA IS BACK GUYS LOOKS HES BACK
and that is why the first map is removed or patched
Against Terran there is a lot of A-move, but that's not all it is at all. You can't A-roll somebody until you've got them out of position or taken out the bigger units like tanks or thors or colossus etc. Doing that requires a lot of skill in micro and harassment.

wow and what a life you have!
We miss you idra
@Bloodlustian wtf r u talking about?
With this resolution it feel more like sc1 then sc2
THIS...IS...STARCRAFT
Wow, that s an inventive idea and a really good one too, since even a little boy could do that little trash talk. And yes, I would prefer it since it is not a real job :P
Hey congrats Idra!
24:33
"He just won't STFU and let me speak..."
this looks nerdy to me but i think its very cool once u understand the game
exactly! it sucks that it's him and vibe of all people though. like seriously, america's "best" seeded players aren't even on the same level as stephano

@Xavya
so does HD :D but Day9 has more experience
but what happened to him?
match starts at 3:38
YOU DON'T SAY?
he is top ten grandmaster and going down but i think hell make a comeback soon
@molibya why wouldn't it be a sport?
People support him because he's funny to watch him rage. This isn't about maturity, it's about entertainment. Is it "mature" to refuse to cheer for the wrestler that freaks out and beats up the referee?
Silly goose, it's all for entertainment, and it works! Lol
omg if this is 720p i feel bad for 240p
If you guys still think Day9 is annoying, Watch his cast of CombatEx vs Chill
It's funny as hell
welcome to NERD WARS

Actually, among all the three races, zerg a moves the LEAST.

Wolf in the background during the winner-interview 27:00 !
I thought this was C&C 3 TW.
Dude on the right sounds like South Parks Mr.Slave.
game starts at 3:37
These hosts are goofs. Idra and Select are awesome =)
@Glitchesftw Not Idra at times. I think he's a good player. But good lord, he needs to calm down sometimes. Then he'll have my full respect.
@Glitchesftw I love idrA, but he BMs A LOT. a lot more than any halo pros
13:35 Second Game start (Actual game Footage)
3:36 Game starts.
man idra is good, I like him n his attitude
lol cheesy tactic? everything was standard. Also 1 viking was for MAP CONTROL so idra couldnt see the medvac drops like he spotted B4 the 1 vik popped
WTF? WHAT DO THEY DO UNTIL 2 MINUTES TO HAVE HIGH APM LIKE THAT? I MEAN 200 AVERAGE APM ON THE 1ST STAGE OF THE GAME WHERE U JUST DO DRONES AND SCVS? WTF????
@iSH4DOWZ U dont need a very good comp to run SC2.
Oh you are so wrong it hurts my head. Maturity isn't decided by one's age, maturity is decided by one's state of mind and mental well being. IdrA is a disturbed person who is so insecure he feels the need to throw out ridiculously pathetic insults. You have no grasp of immaturity if you still believe he is not.
thank god, day9 put down that glasses :D
i was there :D
Yes, because microing a zergling is the easiest thing ever.
i think commentators shouldn't lisp - especially not that hard that you feel drowning in spit by just watching a replay
that was the worst marine split ever
Is IdrA dead or he left the series?
I feel confused.
Idra... GG'ing after the first game...? wtf has this world come to!
:) I've met Idra in real life!
I love mcdaniel sounding like Mr slave xD
Game starts @ 03:36 =)
mister slave in the commentary

Are you serious? What league are you in?
