No one can do what Tupac can do.
Pac definitely had the lock on gangsterism meets reflective thinking man
Shiitttttt.... Rap used to have to have a message
The first socially conscious hip hop record is called THE MESSAGE, then Run DMC did it, Kurtis Blow... anyone that's ever had a socially conscious record on their album has done what Pac did... Which was basically every artist in the 80s early 90s hip hop especially after the advent of crack cocaine and before gangster rap took a strangle hold of mainstream music. You guys who think Tupac invented the intelligent Hoodlum archetype need to go back and research early Hip Hop. The man was wholly influenced by the 80s as was alot of his material

It makes him international
The only times Pac was invited to perform overseas was with Digital underground and to walk the runway for Versace cause Gianni had a gay crush on him - Tupac was not booked for shows internationally. He barely toured the US after AEOM. I think he did maybe two shows w Deathrow
@@futureflavors205 fam 2Pac is one of the most influential person this world have come across. His influence in Hip Hop is like no other, we even compare him to Malcolm X when it comes to social justice, classes are being taught on the man himself and his poetry. Murals of Pac are everywhere.

The title says Biggie VS Tupac but there wasn't enough talk about Pac. Also, Pac was lyrical. But for some reason, the culture refuses to talk about that.
Lyricism is not emphasized enough tbh
Exactly, 2pac was dope. I had to go back & take a listen to the song If I Die 2nite, when he uses the letter P in such a way that`s dope and it be straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Pussy and paper is poetry, power and pistols" Plotting on murdering mother fuckers before they get ya picturing pitiful punk niggaz copping pleas puffin weed as I position myself to clock G`s.

Biggie was a better rapper, 2pac was a better artist!
@@marcozuleta133 that’s a good way to put it
All the rappers have their own style and technique, I just prefer Tupac's style and technique.
And that's fine too
2PAC IS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME! 💯
Definitely
I think you could make slightly longer content, cause it’s so entertaining listening to you talking about this it’s a shame it’s only 10 mins

2Pac is the best
He's got a lot of hits that are always on my replay list
We have to stop elavating rappers because the have catchy hooks and punchlines but the WORDS are
Meaningless none of the music is saying anything having a clever way to say nothing still equals nothing
Having a message is a forgotten art
Well, this is a poor argument
The root word of rapper is RAP.
Tupac covering social commentary in his raps is cool I guess but it doesn't mean he was a better RAPPER than anyone. Pac may have given better speeches or interviews than any rapper but that just makes him a good orator. Nas is a fantastic rapper but a horrible interview and orator. The two are not interchangeable
@@futureflavors205 bro have listened to Tupacs catalog he mastered RAP aint nobody on his level why do you think the world still bumps his shit an call him the GOAT
2 pac was on another level you can’t even compare him with any rapper but as far as if the conversation is about 2 pac and biggie pac was way better biggie was good too but not good as pac

Tupac means more culturally to black people like me that was a teenager in the 90’s but if we’re talking about pure lyricism Biggie wins and I could name a bunch of rappers that are better technical rappers with sicker flows than Tupac , but Tupac more than any other rapper reached people on an emotional or cultural level, that’s why Tupac is the only rapper that has entire RUclips channels like Art of Dialogue or Bomb 💣 1st made just to talk about issues revolving around Tupac and all of them are very successful despite Tupac being gone all these years later, Tupac for whatever reason means more to people than any other rapper that has ever lived
We cover this in our Tupac video. He had so many dimensions. Biggie had a singular point in time. One could argue that he is only as relevant as he is because his timeline intersected wit Pac.
BIG is the goat
BIG stood toe to toe with Pac
Had to try to do double disc like pac biting is supposed to be illegal in hiphop big gets praise for it

The short answer: BIGGIE
Why do people think biggie is lyrical i dont get it lol hes no where near PACs level at all like be honest with yourself PACs music don't lie
and what are your favorite Pac lyrics?
It amazes me that substance means nothing
In a discussion SPECIFICALLY focused on technique and skill in the art of rapping words over beats, yes, substance is not the focus of the conversation. Read the room and pay attention to context.
Myopic view of some New Yorkers is laughable.
Care to expand on that?
Just based on what these guys are saying if you limit yourself to basic street stuff and never speak about anything important your music will sound better or is better
We spoke about the technique of rapping specifically, as hiphop is multidimensional technique is only one aspect. Content, and message are another. Not every rapper has to be a conscious rapper to be considered dope, and not every conscious rapper can rap with the flow Biggie had. If you want to look into deeper topics, check out our episodes on Lupe Fiasco redefining the genre or how Nas squashed beef with 21 Savage: ruclips.net/video/Su7Soq3Rcks/видео.html
Tupac mastered RAP use a obviously not Pac fans
@@PR-WAY Tupac is one of our favorite rappers, but just because we love his music doesn’t mean on a podcast episode covering the release of Biggie’s album - on the same day it was released in 1997 - that we can’t give Big his flowers for the characteristics flow he is famous for
Thank you kause they saying oh He was better technically.. man stop.. Larry bird a better 3 pt shooter then mj but he ain’t a better player
@@trellcarson that is worth discussing - whether Pac was a better overall rapper based on influence and legacy than Big - instead of what we discussed which was the art of flow
biggie took from pac..pac wore versace and made a double album first.
I can see that because they were friends before they became enemies and Pac was the more established artist for sure
good point!@@fromdajump
No comparison
Biggie was a way better rapper than Tupac
Pac was mid to below average at the time compared to his peers (cube, spice, snoop, eiht nas, krs, redman...etc)
The way he shot past everyone is the same way the Kardashians became the most famous family in the world today - HEADLINES.
He was the first rapper to realize that no press is bad press and capitalize off his personal drama. Wasnt the first or best to rap about social issues, politics, or problems but for the reasons stated above he crowds the conversation. Chalk it up to casual fans who need a celebrity to worship
That’s a good point
Bro Tupacs the GOAT get use to it you can talk all that shit but he will always be the GOAT it's jus FACTS
With Pac it wasn't about just headlines. The reason people like Pac is because they can relate to and feel what he is saying in his songs. Pac comes from a poetry background. His approach to rap is the same as poetry. Then when you add in Pac's voice and his charisma, that's why he was the top rapper in the game before he passed. For a guy who was "mid to below average at the time compared to his peers", his peers didn't think so. Biggie was a fan of Tupac before he even met him. Ice Cube was a Pac fan. Nas was a big Pac fan. Snoop was a fan of Pac. Most rappers at that time were fans of Tupac.
@@TheRexrapper there is no argument with what you have said - I think where th disconnect comes in, is taking legacy out and just focusing on the ability to flow - that’s where Biggie shines more, even if Big doesn’t have the canon of 2Pac’s career
@@fromdajump Biggie is a better technical rapper. I don't think that's what most people would argue against. Most people know that wasn't Pac's style. I think it just comes down to taste. Do you prefer a rapper with better flow/lyricism or a rapper who makes you feel what he's saying along with more wide range content? Some people prefer the technical aspect and would chose Biggie. Some prefer the emotional aspect and would chose Pac.
Pac being the best rapper is just lunacy. Take away all of Pac's controversy: 1) the sexual assualt case 2) the Quad Studio shooting 3) the east/west coast beef 4) and ultimately signing to Death Row Pac would be equivalent to MC Eiht or Spice 1. Before the sexual asssault case Pac was a b-list celebrity.
Pac created something that lived beyond himself, that hustler turned social activist play worked out well

I’m sorry that I have to be the ball breaker, but Tupac was clearly above biggie when it came to creating music biggie may have been a better lyricist but if we’re talking songs all around… What the fuck has Biggie done??? … Tupac has so many songs, so many messages, and just too much to compare to what biggie has put out.. Biggie n pac is worldwide stop lieing pac maybe we’ll recognize bc his movies but far as a rapper goes biggie is better than pac
That’s what we are thinking - Pac has more depth as a lyricist but Biggie has more technical skill at flow and rapping
Nah bro, Pac is worldwide plus they have school courses on Pac in collage, his lyrics are being studied Pac is a curriculum now. Plus he has statues in Germany, Asia, Africa and Russia. BIG has none of that, maybe in New York but that`s it. So all that talk you saying maybe we`ll recognize him from his movies, nah bro we`ll recognize Pac from all of the things he has done contributing to Hip Hop & the fact he started a movement. Notice how fans of Biggie, Nas, Jay, G-Rap, Kane, Ras Kass, Kurupt etc never have to tell ppl that these Emcees are lyrical 😂
If we're being honest, Tupac wasn't a better rapper than the lady of rage. If we talking rhyme structure and cadence Da brat would've given Tupac that work. Look Pac was a good/ above avg song writer. But he doesn't have tight punchlines or delivery. Pac has some classic material. So does MC hammer and Noreaga. It doesn't make them lyricists
@@futureflavors205 Look bro that`s YOUR opinion. All Pac haters say the same shit over & over again. If they was so great their rhymes would be a curriculum and their lyrics would be studied. Teachers scholars are giving classes on 2pac`s words. This is facts. But ok whatever YOU say. Pac was better than good, he was great. So YOU can save all that Pac was a good/above average song writer lol. Pac has punchlines and delivery.
Come back to me when YOU have another rapper on the same level as Tupac. As far as being studied in schools in collage and have statues in Germany, Asia, Africa & Russia. And is well loved by the whole world and still to this day being talked about good or bad. And another thing Pac said he wasn`t the best rapper....he never said that. It was us the fans that gave him that title. His huge fan base did that and we came out to support him by buying his records. From 1993 Strictly 4 my N.I.G.G.A.Z to now every album has reached platinum status. Your favorite rapper why isn`t no one supporting him like that? Fans are suppose to support your favorite am I right? So again....Pac the GOAT enough said.

That's not just my opinion. You brought up Melle Mel, but even he said Biggie was a better rapper. Shock G and money B have said the same thing. And that's a very objective and simple answer - Biggie.
Now if the question was who makes the stanboys cream their Jeans and cry in their bandanas every Sept 13th, it's definitely Cheddar Pac. But again popular doesn't equal better. McDonald's is in every country on earth, doesn't mean it's the best
Big was/is the illest rapper period. The man literally had 2 albums and is considered by everyone that actually knows rap to be one of the greatest to ever do it. Yes, Pac had a much bigger influence, but we're talking about rapping. I get that u all like pac over big but when it comes to rapping, no comparison. Before pac steps to Big, he has to see Em, jay, Nas, Kendrick, chuck d and hell maybe even lil wayne.....
