There are many Rameswaram exp from Faizabad, Tirupathi, Bhubaneswar, Manduvah, Ajmer Humsafar exp (chord line), Hyderabad Rameswaram special fare (chord line) etc. In metre gauge during 1997 and before 40 years there was only Rameswaram exp ( Boat Mail) ran in the Main line and sethu exp ran in the chord line.
Actually As a Part of Indipendence Day Celebration Of Our Nation 15th August 2016, Indian Railways, as a tocken of Patriotic gesture, directed the Locomotives to have our national flag on it

Cholan express never met Rameswaram express anytime. Rameswaram exp runs during night and cholan exp runs during daytime.
