Hi Keith, you are correct about the UK not having screens. It might not be a good thing though as it's all extra work on a site you are already at. I always like the added extra jobs I can get at a property I'm already at. No travelling time or fuel usage :) Your videos are great and have helped me a lot. Thanks man :)
As a carpenter I did some scraping on the windows once and when the sun hit, omg, I shit my pants and learned a lifelong lesson. Luckily they were high up and the scratches could have been from the guy before me. I'll be much more prepared with all the other things that could go wrong like the leaking sills and everything else you're teaching me. You're a good man Keith, I feel like I owe you!
😂😂😂 I’m too late. I cleaned my neighbors old house. We counted 4 windows in a frame. I was miserable and so under paid. You speak the truth I like that.
liked your video ,I also have many years under my belt and relate to what you said ,good info thanks, note hard water spots or acid rain spots try oven cleaner ,spray on rub in leave 5 min spray glass cleaner squeegee off ,then clean like you usually do ,all gone .note don't mix window or contaminat your solution with oven cleaner makes a mess ,also maybe have a old squeegee for the oven cleaner kills the rubber.
Have you ever tried the clay bar they use to remove contaminants from car paint? I want tro try it. I removed bonded contaminants without scratching paint. I think it shoud work on glass.
Hi Keith, I have a lawn care business here in the UK. Window cleaning prices here are really low in comparison to US. I live in a little 2 bed bungalow. It costs £8 ($15ish I believe) to get the Windows cleaned. My parents have 4 bed house with conservatory and they only pay £12 ($20ish). This is for outside clean only glass frames and seals. Hearing you talking about charging hundreds to clean windows sounds ludicrous. Amazing how different things are around the world!
Don't ever attempt to remove stains from glass unless you have expert knowledge about glass. The type of knowledge a glazier would have. Its one thing to clean glass but that does not make you an expert on glass itself. Listen to Keith folks. He is giving great advice.
I use a old credit card to remove works bugs and stubborn marks works well with oooo steel wool and well lathered soapy water, I agree with pricing, my saying hit them high hit them low with the old cash flow 😜😜
hey keith i have a question. when doing a normal window cleaning job and alot of windows have hard water spots do you have to get them all off? or try the best to get them off with steel wool and move on?
have you ever had to remove labels from new windows? and the adhesive left behind. what's the best way to do this without "scraping" sometimes I put good off and let it sit on the label but I find myself waring time and being to tedious with it. any advice?
I want to get started and I know this strip mall near my house that has dirty DIRTY windows. I have a feeling I'm going to have to scrape the windows or it won't squeegee well(like the debris). Do I try without scraping or what?
Yo man, I do window cleaning and glass repalcement. Honestly the piece of glass you scratched is probably $40 if you know how to install them its so cheap for glass. Maybe something to look into learning...
What tools do you use to clean windows? :) I'm just getting my window cleaning gear together. And yeah, we don't have screens. They look quite... nasty, if you ask me. Aha. But then, we are plagued with moths at night time when the lights are on and windows open.
Dude I'm so glad we don't have screens. But you guys do have a better business model when it comes to the regularity you clean windows. Here the culture is monthly and the cost is minuscule but it is repeat business every month. So we gotta take the good with the bad. And here every Tom Dick and Harry is a window cleaner.
Same guys. It just works for some reason... we do a lot of "whole property" jobs.. where will maintenence everything AND clean the windows in the same day
Can you show us what your invoice looks like for window cleaning? I'm new and I have a landscaping business going well. it's slow, I'm waiting for the last Spree of businesss (Leafs). I been trying to think of window cleaning. I do a lot for my clients and they love me. I really want to clean windows all winter but I don't know the packages and the things I need. (think about it, I'm a 15 year old but my clients take me as a pro. they are harsh with me and I'm pro as hell, so I can't be the "new guy" with window cleaning. I have to know about this before i do it or else I'm back being the kid thhat wants money). Keith, I provide for my siblings with my mother and I'm a pro, quick learner. You knw? I just need advice
It's called mineralisation and it's a pro job that needs to be done with a buffing tool that removes a micro layer of the glass then polish it off. Unless your a pro don't even go there I've been cleaning windows for about 20 years and I wouldn't try it with out the right training.

sean m - Do you replace glass on storm windows ? Or does the whole window need to be replaced ? Thank you.
hey keith, how do you get you're customers to do reviews? Where do they give you feed back?
Your reactions 🤣
what grade would you suggest?
What tools do you use to clean windows? :)
I'm just getting my window cleaning gear together.
And yeah, we don't have screens. They look quite... nasty, if you ask me. Aha.

I'll make a video on it.

What water fed pole system do you use?
do you have the same guys doing window cleaning and landscaping or different guys?
Same guys. It just works for some reason... we do a lot of "whole property" jobs.. where will maintenence everything AND clean the windows in the same day

how far can you expand. There comes a point when you could price yourself out of the market.
We specialize in storm windows but we charge $25-$35 per
Paul Garza - What do you do if it has a pin hole or crack in it, if you don't mind me asking. Thank you.
Hard water deposits and stains. Don't they come off with newspaper? Acid in the ink?
Hmm? I dunno

With a dry duster brush.
Then wiped the frames with a damp towel while gripping and rotating the screen.

0000
I use 800 to 1000 wet dry sandpaper to remove hard water stains. 50.00 a window. I'm not a cheap cleaner
