- I challenged StarCraft 2 Pros to take on 7 Random INSANE Cheater AIs at once! After three attempts by others, uThermal decided to step up and create a WORLD RECORD. Can it be done against Terran and Protoss? Can it be done against all random AIs? There are still records to be broken for sure!

Marc/uThermal is now one of my favorite streamers. H won my heart with his nukes/mass ghosts to GM series.
He's definitely my 3rd favorite Dutch SC2 content creator. That might sound like an overly specific compliment, but I think the Netherlands is the king of SC2 content creation.

25:00 Units and abilities have various flags that determine how the AI react to them (Basic - Unit: Flags tab in the editor). Ravagers lack the tags for High Priority Targets, Threat Air/Air units and Always Threat to Attackers, while Infestors and High Templars have them (at least in the current version of the melee dependencies). That is why the AI overlook Ravagers more than humans would.
That’s one way to encourage anti ravager micro lol

So 100 bucks to win the challenge.
71 tries.
Lets say each try runs from 5 min to 20 min for early and later ones, and maybe up to 30 min for some of the way late ones.
Average it out to about 20 min each. 5 tries is about 1 hour. so we're looking at about 14 hours total, with the last one taking 35 min.
so 14.5 hours. divided into 100.
That's about $6.90 a run, rounded up a touch.
Hell of a way to make a living.
Absolutely love uThermals content. Honestly the way he can do any of his challenges whilst playing against top GM’s AND talking at the same time is astounding to me.

Playing against AI's, I noticed they rarely use drops. When I started playing ladder and I got dropped, it was a whole new learning experience!
HOLY SHIT!!! 3681 units killed lost vs 140?!!?! 279,850 (I think, the AMD thing is blocking it the last line) resources spent vs less than 22k!!!??!? This guy is truly INSANE level difficulty! HAH! I'm jumping over to his channel to support him as well.
I saw the other day Marc is still doing about 5 insane ai challenges a day trying to figure out protoss and Terran. I think 7 random might just be impossible, but who knows!

@@chrayez yes I saw, quite an achievement, however I will say he got very lucky, and was building on uthermals strategies. With that said though, still quite an accomplishment.

PiG, you're awesome. I played a bit of Starcraft back in the day, some online custom maps and I think no attack for 10 minutes sort of things. After watching your videos, at the age of 35 now, I decided to finally beat Brood War just so I can justify buying Starcraft 2 and playing the game. Love your videos, love your sense of humor, you got me! Keep up the good work :)

Eyyy Brood war campaigns are classic! SC2 is free for the initial campaign by the way so you only need to pay for hots and lotv :)
Thsi is the kind of content that keeps old games alive. Reminds me of the halo challenge by moistcritical. Really gives a shot in the arm for these games. I'll be happy to send him a bit of cash for this.

For anyone wondering, uThermal achieved a resource efficiency of 16.85:1! absolutely love to see it!
Watched this when he put it on his stream. He does different challenges all day, every day, now. He has some really cool ones going on-Ghost only, Hellion/Raven, Cheese, Penguin Brothers, and he finished Bongcloud. He did a randomizer and actually let it pick which one(s) to do in an EPT cup and it was great!

Uthermal has largely filled in the void left behind by beastyqt when he left Starcraft. Absolutely amazing game the first time I watched this on his channel and even more amazing after listening to the different insights you’ve pointed out too Pig! Fantastic stuff here and keep it up!

Every time you try the random one there is a 0.00457% chance that all 7 AIs are zergs, so... maybe in a few centuries?

There is definitely an anti drop terran that builds spotter missle turrets insane ai bug often because it knows all its fun to watch from their pov and hold down the portrait with the mouse button to center focus and you will see the immense awareness of the ai.

This is what speedrunners go through, and its fun watching someone do the whole "repeat ad infinitum until success" with a RTS game. And like with speedrunners, Thermal has done so many attempts that he was eventually able to find exploits in the AIs code in order to push a little bit further (like with flying buildings in instead of building them at the site in order to keep the AI from auto rushing). Very awesome challenge :D

@@PiGstarcraft there is still an active community, they moved off bnet many years ago. Just saw khb on twitch playing the other day. Well designed hehe, it's charm was imbalanced maps and and orcs having OP bloodlust, poor humans. Interesting comparison with war2 qnd sc2, both started as a low resources game and at.the final meta was played on high resources. Gow the most played map was the most imbalanced, can't imagine sc2 with imbalanced maps. Then having heat,zone,kali,kahn,AOL player bases converge at bnet. Wondered if you just single playered or if you played multi-player. And the hacker which hunts that actually caught alot of.players.
If sc2 guys think thier cheese is something, even flo remembers the days when we called cheese gaying.

It was computer #2, you can see later that each one has a different number when they surrender.
Poultry bringing that stuffing on Turtle twice is awesome, lol. I'm actually rooting for him, I hope he gets even stronger and starts decimating other players like Turtle.

For those wondering, the total resources lost for all the AI was 370,050. uThermal traded at a 17:1 ratio. Against CHEATER 3 AI.

How to tell if it's cheater 3: in-game they're called insane AI, only cheater 3 AI has that name.
The only way to win this challenge is to trade with the AI in a super efficient way to drain their minerals because yeah you cant outmine them. Def against tank w/o pushing out or mass immotal is a no no tho

PiG, at the beginning @3:00min you mention the original challenge was cheater3. @25:25ish the surrender says Cheater 2 (insane). is cheater3 the highest or is cheater2?
uThermal is playing against Cheater 3 Insane AIs, it's just that when playing the 7 different AIs are all labelled with a number cheater 1, cheater 2, cheater 3... etc but you know it's the right one because it says "(Insane)" next to that

@@Dadbod007 Parasitic bomb only affects air units, it deals area damage to all enemy air units and it is permanent after the unit dies until its duration expires. When an viking in air mode gets parasitic bombed and that vikings changes to ground mode, the parasitic bomb leaves that viking and stays at that location, damaging air units until it expires.

I think it was mostly to reveal the lurkers when they were out of turret range. Could saved maybe 1000 minerals on depots but i guess if he gets caught without scans he dies

I've actually played more vs cheater 3 insane AI than Player vs player... there ARE drop rushes and air unit rushes. I've tested the rush to air build order a lot, and never ran into drops with that setting, so I'm unsure what triggers them to do drops.
Heromarine did this in 17 attempts. Also he managed to do 1 vs 7 Insane Random AI's with 24 tries on stream 2 days ago!

I would argue that PiliPili actually completed this challenge successfully. He only selected things he was allowed to select.
@pig there's a cheat code to this challenge it's name is zombiefest winter just hold out longer than the ai ull get attacked by like 3 separate armies cause the ais target prio focus the zombies
But even the cheater ais lose to the zombies
The AI still does not play as a real good player. Not one of them had any excuse, why they lost.

For anybody in the comment section who can't do math reference, every starcraft game generally goes around 15 to 17 minutes unless it's really cheesy or really really macro right? But the average is like 15 to 17 minutes accounting for everything right? So he spent 20 hours on this for perspective I have over 300 hours on one champion in League of Legends called Samira (DO NOT LOOK UP HER RELEASE DATE) but thermy boii spent what we might classify as the exact shortest possible amount of time to do this it could have taken 1000 hours
And how many thousands of hours had he played this game before the challenge existed? Might have been a factor…….
