Just bought the i22... an expensive machine to be locked up. I own the tablet so I should be able to use it how I want! I followed all your steps but that auto update still kept running. So I reset and before enabling the WiFi I went into privileged mode and went into the iFIT admin app and disable everything under there. So far it seems to have worked and I can still use iFIT. I have about three hours invested into this haha but fingers crossed that did the trick. Thanks for your perseverance! This is nonsense.
Can you please update and let us know if it works after a few days? I did everything too and mine still updated. Took forever to go through everything just like you said. Don’t want to attempt it again if it just goes right back after a couple of days. Thank you!

Hi Jaycee, what is Spectrum? If it is anything like Verizon Fios, then you may not be able to install as any app that required Google Play Services will not work. Google Play Services are not installed on our machines.
Are you referring to the setting “Display over other apps”? I have disabled this for iFit, it doesn't help, although I still always disable it when I test. With respect to your comment on uninstalling iFit. Unless you have a source for an iFit install before you uninstall iFit you first need to "export" it to apk so you can reinstall it. Note: iFit apks on apkpure, apkmonk, etc are a standalone app which is not the same as the iFit installed on your NordicTrack console. If iFit is not installed, you may still be able to control some aspect of your machine, but it will not behave "normally". For example, on my FS14i, I can change the resistance level on the machine without iFit, but it will reset to zero after about a minute.
Thanks Nelson. I have been trying to get Nordictrack to substantiate their 'security' concerns. They won't. They play obtuse and deny a privileged mode even exists haha!
Kyle, customer support had their marching orders. Don't give out the Privileged Mode code unless the customer is having iFIT software problems or they need the code to do something that is only available on the Android desktop. On the older machines, without a pinhole, you need the code in order to do a factory reset.
@@NelsonMunoz0714 I'm still debating on it. It was such a large purchase along with mounting a big screen to the wall in front of it. But I have to admit that I didn't know about the privileged mode until after purchasing it. Which is what made me mount the big screen. I'm just gonna cool down a bit, decide and wait and see what someone can come up with. Returning it just seems like a nightmare as well. Their customer support really has me worried though which is really making me debate if I am gonna get sucked into a large money pit.

Hi GT, I think we can update our machines, when I provide instructions to block iFIT web sites, I believe the iFIT app still gets updated, it's just the Privileged mode piece that won't get updated. You will see when I post part 2 tomorrow.
@@NelsonMunoz0714 The problem is that it’s iFit that’s preventing you from getting into priv mode. When iFit updates, that’s when the block gets out into place.

What do you think about just using one of those tools that just generates as password for you each time you hop on the treadmill and have privileged mode for each work out? I don't know much about them wondering maybe if you do? I haven't used the machine a day sense. I guess it shows how much we liked privileged mode.

I took it upon myself to lead this charge to make certain you all have the info you need to take full advantage of your smart exercise machines. As for using a random number generator, that wouldn't work because when you use a code to get into privileged mode it is only for a short amount of time (~10 - 15 mins?) and then you get kicked out of privileged mode.

Jacklyn, have you tried disabling auto updates via the secret iFit options menu. That may do the trick which would mean you don't have to mess around with your Spectrum router.

@@Thoughtcrminal, I received a comment from a subscriber who had an easy solution that has worked for her. She did a factory reset and then once she got into privileged mode she swiped down from the top several times until she saw the Airplane option. By enabling that she essentially disconnects from the internet so she can't receive any updates. She says she takes it out of airplane mode to watch Netflix or to use iFit, but then puts it back into airplane mode before powering down. Hope this helps.
@@GaryLoLocal I contacted via chat this morning and an agent named Christy was very helpful. She actually gave me the code and all the steps to factory reset. I started off stating that I was selling my bike and needed to wipe all my data. Hopefully that helps someone else.
Hi Maehe, Yes, I have contacted iFIT to request a code. I told them my iFIT app kept kicking me off the machine everytime I tried searching for a specific trainer. They gave me the code.
Gold, next time just say you are thinking of selling the machine and want to clear out any residual personal info. You can also say your iFIT keeps resetting. The iFIT application has been known to reset from time to time, especially if you are searching the workout library.

Same here supervisors and all have told me to just call them back after I have returned it to cancel the iFit. They don't care.

So we will never be able to update our machines ever again if we want to continue using Privileged Mode?

I have Spectrum and can't find any parental control options. Does anyone else have this issue? I am not tech-savvy so please send me all the tips
